he also scored the next two movies in the trilogy, and both scores are amazing as well. "Test Drive" is amazing, but my all time favorite is track "Flying with Mother" from the second movie.
Here's a testament to how unique Dune is. Even for Star Wars, it took maybe two or three notes to get it and most of the others were just as fast. But Dune is recognizable not even by the notes but just by the sound of it. Naming Dune took no time for me because the sound of that movie is so unlike anything else and you can immediately tell when you listen to any of the tracks
Well that's not that specific to dune though but rather to hans zimmer as composer. Many of his scores are quite unconventional. Compared to John Williams for example who is known for great orchestral compositions and melodies you just cant forget zimmer uses a ton of different unusual sounds and synthesizer. These aspects just make some of his pieces incredibly recognizable by the smallest portion, while others might be harder to piece together as they dont have a clear melody or motif you might recognize. Also I guess I wouldnt be wrong by assuming you did listen to music from dune more recently than most of the other movies for no particular reason :D
@NickiRruhland well tbf John Williams, as amazing as he is, has never went batshit crazy and started inventing new instruments so Dune will sound alien or experimented with blending electronic music with orchestra or redefined church organ away from sounding gothic/religious. Sure John Williams is phenomenal with a traditional orchestra but Hans Zimmer has done unique stuff from inception BRAAMS to joker theme with one note played with a razor blade on strings to throat singing in Dune. Hans Zimmer is way more versatile than John Williams and they are both incredible in their own right. We are just lucky to have them both
Having just seen Raiders of the Lost Ark, I got the Indiana Jones one. I was close to getting Jurassic Park, but initially thought Avengers. The thing about me is that even just a split second of a tone or sound can make me think of a music track. I have an uncanny ability to recognize and remember music compared to most people; I was actually humming tunes before I could even talk. Music is my gift, and I want to use it.
I'm really not a movie person but I'll tell you I got Interstellar INSTANTLY despite having watched it only like when it came out? wow that's what good music does
Possibly, there are many ideas music does not play an important role in the reputation of a film. I believe that without music, people cannot exactly remember a film. Not all of them watch it, but they can remember the melodies of its soundtrack.
Music js the source of emotions that audience feel without it the scenes wouldnt make much emotional impact go ahead and watch a film like lotr without dialouge and sound desgin only the score and the visuals
100% right, didn’t even need the multiple choices. 1. Star Wars 2. Harry Potter 3. Jurassic Park 4. Lord of the Rings 5. Oppenheimer 6. Interstellar 7. The Godfather 8. Schindler’s List 9. Dune 10. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning 11. The Hateful Eight 12. Indiana Jones (Raiders probably). 13. Star Trek (2009) 14. Transformers 15. Hunger Games!
I got all of them. I'm a big fan of film scores. I can recognize who composed it, too, just by their style. I like to play a game with myself when I watch movies and guess who scored it before being confirmed in the credits. I'm also surprised at how many people ignore scores. They're the soul of the movie. There are movies that use music these days to just fill awkward silence when it should be elevating or enhancing the scene.
Interesting choices. I got 9. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Oppenheimer, Dune, Schindler's List, Indiana Jones and the New Star Trek. Although I didn't always immediately recogniose the piece, I recognised what score would fit the film best displayed onscreen. But how on earth can you talk about Star Trek Music and leave out the music from the Original Films? I may have been born this century, but even I recognise how vastly superior it is.
0:56 lol WHAT?.. Sure and the Duduk fits the desert and dunes vibes so well cause it's actually made out of Sand! I was not ready to be hit with that hot take one minute into this video.
14/15, I haven’t seen Transformers. Some of my favourites not mentioned- -Synecdoche, New York (Jon Brion) -The Fountain (Clint Mansell) -Once Upon a Time in America (Ennio Morricone) -Oldboy (Cho Young-wuk) -The Turin Horse (Mihály Víg) -Spider-Man (Danny Elfman) -The Social Network (Trent Reznor) -Vertigo (Bernard Herrmann)
13/15 - Only missed the Hateful Eight (I haven't seen it) and Mission Impossible. I also believe that Harry Potter is the greatest film score of all time. The structure of the scores for the Lord of the Rings trilogy may have been planned more meticulously, but the musical content in Harry Potter is unmatched. The orchestration and harmonic movement is so identifiable and most of the melodies being derivations of the three themes from the Hedwig's theme suite is incredible.
If you want to mess with someone, play them the first 40 seconds of John Powell's "Savareen Standoff" from Solo, on a system with good bass. That piece goes from Dune to Star Wars and back.
Forget the likes of John Williams and Hans Zimmer. For me one of the greatest ever film scores is the one that Leonard Bernstein wrote for On the Waterfront. I also love some of the Bernard Hermann scores for Alfred Hitchcock's movies. As for living composers of film music Johnny Greenwood is one of the most interesting and exciting
12/15. Coming from a soundtrack aficionado, who listens to said genre more than any other music genre. What I missed: Harry Potter: Although I have listened to all the soundtracks from that series (expanded, to boot), aside from The Goblet of Fire and Fantastic Beasts, I don't revisit the music from this series very much, so a short, obscure bar is likely to throw me off. Also, I haven't even watched the movies. Mission Impossible: I have neither seen the films, nor listened to any of the full soundtracks. But maybe I'll change that... The Hateful Eight: A case where I haven't been anywhere or done anything to hear this music. Until now.
Fallout also was the best movie in the M:I franchise, though all of them are great. I got all of them right. I only listen to film music. XD My favorite score is probably John Ottman‘s X-men suite from X2, though I love all kinds of film music. I play the Cello and for orchestra pirates of the caribbean always sounds incredible!
i got 13 out of 15. The ones i didnt got, where Oppenheimer and Mission impossible. i guess i would have got them as well if i had seen the movies once. Butim pretty happy with my score! ^w^
I got Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings (I LOVE it), Oppenhiemer, Interestellar (masterpiece), The Godfather, Schindler's list, DUNE PART 1 PAULS DREAM (I loveee it), Indiana Jones, The Hunger Games (Love it too).

Lord of the rings hands down has the best soundtrack out of any film franchise.
I haven’t seen god father and many others of these works but I knew who made them and the song name for many of these cause even tho I haven’t seen interstellar I follow hand zimmers music
Holy shit could you have a decent break between each one and when you talk. Half the time you play it while you’re still talking about the last one. At least be consistent in your timing. Horrible structure for a great idea.
Make sure to leave a comment🙌🏻
"Transformers CGI pretty solid for 2007" Bro! Transformers CGI is better than the majority of todays CGI
He said “Absolutely phenomenal” not “Pretty solid.”
Only the first 3 movies had good cgi, the 5th looked like a 2010 video game
John Powell’s score for the first How To Train Your Dragon film is my all time favorite.
The gentle flute when the Dreamworks logo appears at the start of the first movie is my favorite
he also scored the next two movies in the trilogy, and both scores are amazing as well. "Test Drive" is amazing, but my all time favorite is track "Flying with Mother" from the second movie.
@@jungleblazers1249 Test Drive is such a good track. The low brass in that piece is so strong it gives me goosebumps every time
I love Jown Powell, and the HTTYD soundtrack is maybe the best I know of.
His score for How To Train Your Dragon trillogy is simply perfect.
"Most people" are right. There's no way HP comes close to LOTR.
Fr fr
I mean the first three movies are done by John Williams so they are the only ones that come close
@@hulk600 John williams is amazing but nothing compare to Howard Shore for LotR
And definitely not httyd 🧌

bro is playing oppenheimer score and asking which movie it belonged to.......
no yeah that one was very obvious lol, its the intro to the most iconic song in the movie
John Williams and Hans zimmer are the undisputed kings of film music
John Williams > Hans Zimmer
@@NickiRruhland depends
Agree, plus Morricone
@@Carl-FriedrichWelker forgot about him hr is amazing too

15/15, I was hoping to get them all. I'm a film scoring student after all.
Nice💪🏻

Coming out and saying HP music is better than LOTR is an insane thing to say to any audience.
14/15 but to be fair i am a cinephile and have watched an unhealthy amount of films 😅
13/15 me too
I'm really not a movie person but I'll tell you I got Interstellar INSTANTLY despite having watched it only like when it came out? wow
that's what good music does
12/15
So happy you included the catching fire score, that specific cue is insanely cool. I love it. Subbed

Totally agree🙌🏻

There are many movies and games which I have tried out solely because of their scores
100% right, didn’t even need the multiple choices.
1. Star Wars
2. Harry Potter
3. Jurassic Park
4. Lord of the Rings
5. Oppenheimer
6. Interstellar
7. The Godfather
8. Schindler’s List
9. Dune
10. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning
11. The Hateful Eight
12. Indiana Jones (Raiders probably).
13. Star Trek (2009)
14. Transformers
15. Hunger Games!

This was really fun! I got a lot of them! I love how you included Mission Impossible and Star Trek: Into Darkness in there, both sooo underrated!
💪🏻
All but Oppenheimer. Which I’ve not seen so I’m not too disappointed. All the Williams’ scores made it fairly simple to get a bunch of them.
Bro LOTR soundtrack is perfection embodied
10/15 . My score recommendations:
Halloween - John Carpenter
The Thing (1982) - Ennio Morricone
Alien 3 - Elliot Goldenthal
Hereditary - Colin Stetson
Frost/Nixon - Hans Zimmer
Tenet - Ludwig Göransson
Blade Runner - Vangelis
Game of Thrones - Ramin Djavadi
“The next one’s are going to be a little more difficult” plays Oppenheimer
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly has one of the greatest scores especially the main theme and the Ecstasy of Gold.
Star Trek’s soundtrack is underrated in general imo
"The next ones are going to be a little more difficult"
proceeds to play the theme of the most popular movie of 2023
Interesting choices.

13/15, missed Harry Potter (haven't watch one of those films before) and The Hunger Games.

Are you from germany? Your pronounciation of Schindlers Liste sounds native?
I got 9, but considering that I've only seen half the answers, I think I did excellently.
The movies I've SEEN, I got all of those right. So still 100% in my book
I got 8. I grew up off of Star Wars and recognize John Williams anywhere. The other ones I admit I haven't seen.
Guessed every score from every movie that I watched so far
I got them all right! Music and film is in my H20!

You're German, right? Me too xD
9/15
I was a bit heartbroken that John Powell didn't make it into your selection. Httyd is imo the best score ever composed.
12/15, pretty proud on myself 😊
And this comes from someone who listens to soundtracks more than any other genre 😅

14/15, I can’t believe I missed ‘The Godfather’, though.
3:42 Funny that NCFOM was even mentioned in this video
13/15
13/15 only 2 I missed where movies I havent seen
Did anyone else think the godfather music was merry go round of life from howls moving castle?
Pirates of the caribbean 3 has, for me, the best score
13/15 and some where pure luck. 😂
Got 11 but I hadn’t seen the other 4 so 100% :)
Most people think Lord of the Rings is the greatest film score of all time? It’s up there but I don’t think that’s a real fact.
Lol I liked this - didn’t think I’d get so many
I got about half right. 7 wrong and 8 guessed correctly.
14. I guessed two but they were informed guesses lol
The only ones I've seen and I missed were Jurassic Park, Dune, and Hunger Games
I got 3/15 Star Wars Dune and Indiana Jones
2/15
I didn’t watch more movies that I expected
As soon as i heard can you hear the music shouted OPPENHEIMER!!!!!

Dune music is iconic already
No boring af
11/15
I got 7/15
Conan the Barbarian is the greatest score of all time! By Maestro Basil Poledouris !
Good video😊
Thanks
I haven’t seen god father and many others of these works but I knew who made them and the song name for many of these cause even tho I haven’t seen interstellar I follow hand zimmers music
13/15, to be honest I guessed 3 of them but the others I was confident about
Not bad💪🏻

Harry Potter better than Lord of the Rings score? Yeah, but no.😂😂
12 out of 15
13/15 also lotr the goat ill fight you on that with harry potter
Who except dummy and kid would fight you on this ?
I missed 6
Git star wars, lord of the rings, transformers
Missed harry potter, jurassic park, dune 1, indiana jones,
Havent seen the others.
Uhh I WILL fight anyone who says the hp score is better than the lord of the rings…. You are wrong
I missed two... & That's Harry Potter. I'm shamed of myself.
p.s. second one is Hunger Games which I have seen only one time... So.. idc
Lord of the Rings is the greatest score
Imagine not putting httyd in this list. Httyd🔛🔝
Too easy
0:36 You're wrong. Harry Potter isn't your favorite movie soundtrack. I know you better than you know yourself. Obviously you like the others better.
ai images. cmon dude
