A misdemeanor for looting a citizen's house while in a position of trust? Absolutely sickening that they got off so lightly.
That is the premise behind the ACAB ideology. All cops have immunity, so any cop can choose to do whatever they want at any time. They act like humans most of the time to trick people into a false sense of security. Qualified immunity and general court refusal to prosecute any police crime is effectively terrorism for profit.

For every cop that forgets to turn off their body camera, there are 100+ cops who remember to turn it off and don't get caught.
Turning it off is illegal, but like any other crime. Must be reported for action to take place

Yeah, I'm truly surprised we even have found cops commiting crimes with body cams. Blows my mind that there is some sort of structure that scares them enough to keep them on during investigations
If I had to guess it's probably so that they can use the bathroom. Also you have to be able to turn it off when it's not in use/ not on duty so the battery isn't just being used for no reason. But yes it should be against police policy to ever turn off their camera when on duty and not in the bathroom.

I work as a Firefighter/Paramedic going into people’s homes all the time. Never, ever have I thought about taking anything from the people I serve. Absolutely disgusting behavior and a breach of the public trust.

It's just a Strategy way of trying to get a person to talk. Detectives are always your buddy until they got all the information's they need to convict you in court.

Body cams should not be able to be turned off. And how on earth can a jury be that stupid to not throw these horrible people in jail?

The data generated from operating bodycams at all times would be insane. All that data needs to be stored and maintained. Its not a practical idea.
