This is the perfect post for me right now! My 3 tier, ladder, shelf is being delivered today and I’m on my way home with a new baby NoID mini phal I found at the grocery store.
Hi Danny, those minis are majorly beautiful, I am in awe!! Good luck with the house details and we will be here when you get things settled. And if your schedule does not include your regular uploads for a while, I will go back and view your old videos!!
Hello! I really have been enjoying your videos. I have learned so much and I only started obsessing about orchids just over a year ago…I now have 10 including some non phaleonopsis ones. I wanted to thank you particularly for making me aware to keep my eyes peeled at flower shops for fragrant phaleonopsis! The other day a no ID caught my attention and I smelled it and I could detect an ever so slight beautiful fragrance (I have smelled so many and never got lucky). I took it home and every morning when the sun shines the whole room smells wonderful. I looked it up and I am pretty sure it is a Bolgheri! Thank you for all your hard work, sharing and inspiration ❤ Vera from South Africa
What a beautiful arrangement of Phals😍 I have a lot, but I’d love to have this many. Would be my fave spot in the house💗 They all look in such good health too!
Dani 🎉 I’m going through a phal frenzy myself! I bumped into one that smells super sweet! And I love the peloric ones! I bought 6 minis and arranged them on a clay cone! It’s beautiful!! 😍
They are so pretty. You certainly have a green thumb 😊 your videos helped me out a lot thanks. I am staying hopeful my mini orchid will grow more leaves eventually 2 years with 2 leaves after having root rot. How often do you water them in spagnum moss in the clear slotted pot? I just repotted a new mini orchid I got in sphagnum moss and a clear slotted pot and now the leaves are all floppy and wrinkly. I hope I did not make a mistake and kill it. 🤞🏻
i love this, just got into orchids and im obesessed with them , coming from a vegetable gardener. i love how your one of the few who still is posting weekly of your phals, if i may could you tell us what lights do you use for your shelves? im looking at sol tech for other plants i have and my grab that sol tech bar for my phals i have purchased.
Now that I'm watering my minis like you water yours, I'm getting a lot of yellow leaves. What do you think? Over watering? Thank you, Dani, for providing so much great information.
Hey Danni! I loved loved loved your "Then and now" Videos! Would you upload a new one like this some time in the future? :) 💕 Thank you for everything!
My first Orchid/Phal, I got about a year and half to 2 years ago, was a beautiful pail blue with baby pink edges and vains when I bought it. After those blooms had gone over and a new flower spike grew some time after (I was super exited) the flowers were white with a touch of yellow on the lip. They still look really nice, but was a bit disappointed. It was from a supermarket, so do they have growers who some how get the plants to change their flower colours with dye in their water, like I did as a kid at pre school? Or would it be an environmental kind of thing??
Hi, well it’s not quite the same process as in school, but they are artificially dyed indeed, most of them are naturally white :) naturally colored orchids look more even and .. natural I guess? Hard to explain but you see them in my videos, I don’t have any dyed orchids :)
Hi Danny, first of all thank you for all the work you do. Can you please help me again.? It's my first year growing orchids and one of my phalaenopsis has grown flower spike but in comparison to when I bought it, it has fewer buds. I'm using "Green House long flowering 18 12 18 + 3Mg npk fertilizer " .should I switch to a high phosphorus npk fertilizer like 5 50 20 to increase the amount of flower buds or continue with what I use normally??
Hello, I love your orchids. I have a question in regards to the tap water. Do you think it's okay to add a water conditioner to help with the contaminants in the water, will it harm the orchid?
I have hard water and give all my orchids tap water without conditioner. I don’t think it’s necessary. Most of the professional growers I know don’t bother with water conditioners, either. I also work at a nursery, and we don’t bother with water conditioners.
Hey, Miss Orchid Girl! So, I bought a clock that has a thermometer and hygrometer built in. The hygrometer reads 60-70% of humidity in my room in the southern US. I understand that orchids prefer 30-60% humidity. So, I'm curious if you ise a hygrometer and know what the ambient humidity in your place is.
I’m in SoCal, and have a hygrometer. My ambient humidity is around 40-50%, but does dip into the 30s and lower. When I lived in Tucson, I had even less humidity, but had no trouble with my orchids. Phals and cattleyas don’t really need high humidity to do well. Danny’s humidity is low most of the time, because she lives in a hot, dry environment.
Halloo miss orchid, i am from Indonesia. I confuse my phaleonopsis not blomming and dead..please transfer knowlegde about orchid especially phaloenopsis..

Please can I ask a question. The kitchen lights you refer to in this video. Are they cool or warm white LEDs? Thank you!

@ladystardust9707 awesome! Also, thanks for correcting my spelling. 🙂
Loving that red Phal on the right side. What is its name?
I see that you have all of the orchids are in pots that are not clear. How are the roots getting light? I have been growing orchids since 2018
Hi, the roots don’t get light and that’s ok :)
Can I ask why the leaf is yellow on the plant you tip forward at 5.08?
