BackCountry Ski Fall Work & Scouting, Western Maine, 2023-24

Preview of the BC Ski Season at the 44th Lattitude as of Dec. 3/2023. New Finds from Scouting, Logging, and Brushing (Debris Removal) of new & existing places I ski. The clock starts ticking once the summer heat leaves, gun season in Nov (gun hunting), and snows shut down any work in getting trails ready for BC skiing. I usually brush out trails-areas to have as clean a floor as possible on all BC runs-trails. This involves removing dead branches, trees, blowdowns, some minor lopper work on sapplings. New logged areas require the most work as there is much debris or slag left behind, as you'll see in the video. Sit back and Enjoy!
