I disagree, as a Georgia fan there’s one game almost every year that decides wether we’re going to the playoffs or not. And sometimes another game after that against the same team to decide if we’re gonna win the chip. There’s one team I’m looking at on the schedule and that’s bama. It’s almost always a close game even if we do lose most of the time. I think it’s not only a rivalry but our biggest rivalry currently

Anyway, Georgia fans got so caught up in the hype of the game and they were talking about how they were going to kill Alabama and they might as well wear all black to the game and wouldn’t you know it? Alabama commenced to beating the brakes off of Georgia and it was 35-0 at halftime! 😂 I remember it like it was yesterday because I was the only Alabama fan at my own party at my house in Vidalia, Georgia and every neighbor was a Georgia fan and I got drunk and ran all of them out of my house by halftime! 😂
There was a big win by Bama in 1973. GA led 14-13 with very little time left...4 or 5 minutes if I recall. The Tide scored twice and pulled it out 28-14, but we were on the verge of disaster.

How can you not talk about the 2008 game in Athens? I was at this game on the 50. UGA was preseason number 1 for the first time ever and even on the dreaded front cover of Sports Illustrated. Knowshon, Stafford, and AJ Green rounded out a “remarkable” offense. Alabama rolled in with a chip on their shoulders and looked ridiculously impressive in that Chick-fil-a kick off game. By halftime it was 31-0 Alabama. I always say, this was Alabamas coming-out Party. This is the game where Saban came to take what was his for the next decade and a half.
It wasn’t a catch but Saban being as smart as he is knew to hurry up and run a play so they can’t review it. So if Bama took too long between plays they would’ve reviewed it but they couldn’t bc Bama ran a hurry up so the refs couldn’t do anything.
I wouldn’t call this a rivalry. We really only meet them in the playoffs/conference championship. Adding to that, I’ve really only seen things pick up in the past few years. Edit: If we don’t name em in Dixieland Delight then they’re probably not a rival.
Please the amount of hype this match up gets every time is absolutely rivalry level. The hate and animosity may not be there but both programs have intense respect for each other and push each other to be better than one another.
I'm definitely not a Georgia fan but this is definitely a rivalry the states border each other, a lot of these games have very big implications, they both have been big sec teams over the last 20 years, they are always a lot of hype when they play, the games are usually very competitive. So yeah it's definitely a rivalry. Now it's true that UGA went 15 years without beating bama . Thats can't be the only metric you go by
As a Tennessee fan I am looking forward to this game because either way this is a win-win for Tennessee they will move into the top three possibly the top two. But if I had to pick I pick Alabama because if Georgia loses Tennessee will take number one in the SEC East which will guarantee than a spot in the SEC championship and on the way to the national championship Either way we play both of these teams this year both are on our schedule but we have Alabama first at home!
That's because they didn't play each other every year. They only played twice every 12 years unless they both made it to the SEC championship game. Tennessee has had to play both of them every year since the 1930s. That's all changing now though
Welp, I xan recall on a few games of Alabama literally getting away with shit that if called, would have produced a different outcome. Happens every single time we play. I am excited for the battle ahead. Be nice if the refs call shit legit on both sides of the ball but I feel Georgia is far more composed and confident with Kirby than they ever have been before
@@BoneyardSummerNights you sound like a woman. Stop complaining about officiating, most games we play UGA are in the state of Georgia so just stop whining about officials.
God, it's nuts how many running backs these schools have produced who went on to become, at minimum, above-average Sunday starters, quite a few of whom were at least Hall of Fame-worthy for a couple of seasons.
Leaving out 1976 is a shame, that probably Georgia’s crowning achievement in this series until the natty win. That Georgia team was the only non-Bama team to win an SEC title between 1971 and 1979 and was the last SEC team to beat Bama for over FOUR YEARS.
As a Georgia fan, I can say that this game isn't a rivalry. It's always a big game, but we simply don't play Bama enough to consider them rivals. Auburn, Florida and Georgia Tech are our rivals: heck, I'd even add Clemson to that list, and I wish we played every year. That said, this was a good look back at the series between these two, even if a lot of them still break my heart all these years later: 2012 was probably the biggest gut punch of the bunch.
Good video but the UGA homer shows pretty hard lol. Cherrypicked some older UGA wins versus 7-5 and 6-6 Bama squads and left out much more recent games like '08, '15, and '20 which were much more relevant and all three beatdowns by Bama. Two of them in Athens.
It may not be a rivalry in a pure sense of the word, but the third line of Bama's fight song is "go teach the Bulldogs to behave" - and it's not referring to Mississippi State!
The pass in the 2023 championship game was a complete pass. His knee was down before the ball came out. It was reviewed by officials. In championship games every play is reviewed between plays.

Bro I don't care what UGA fans say. That bond catch is not clearly incomplete. The ball shuffles but he had his hands underneath. Which does not constitute as an incompletion.
1 win in the past 10 games not what id consider a rival... And the only time they won we beat them the same year for SEC championship. And they only won that one bc top two receivers were out and top two DBs were out. Not an excuse they got lucky and stole one
It really is ridiculous Georgia didn’t get a chance to 3-peat due to 1 loss, to a top team, by only 3 points. Yes…they should have won this to assure getting in. But, there were two teams that got in with worse losses.
What’s forgotten in this “rivalry” is that Alabama is now 9-1 in the past 10 games. So much for a “rivalry” more like a domination. Don’t let the video fool you
You can tell this video was made by a Georgia Bulldog Homer! Reason number one is they consider it a "rivalry". According to Georgia, everyone is their rivalry. Who is their rival? Florida? South Carolina? Tennessee? Auburn? Georgia Tech? Hell, I've even heard then call Clemson as their rival. Now this homer wants to say Alabama is their rival. They have had some success as of late but they are nowhere near the level as Alabama and Kirby is not the second coming of Saban.

Florida Auburn Tech Tennessee Clemson (Directions to get to Clemson: 1-go E until you smell it 2-go N until you step in it) Those are the ones who are rivals. With Florida being the largest, Florida is hated with a burning passion bordering on religious. There are teams/schools we dont care about, but they aren't historic rivalries like those. As a Georgia fan I used to live in Alabama (7 years long) and the Bama fans there didn’t treat Georgia as this hated rival and anyone who roots for them are blasphemous. Alabama fans over there are some very nice people and they definitely do not view Georgia as a rival. As you stated, some Georgia fans see Alabama as a rival because they have beaten us several times and ruined our chances at the chip. Of course, that isn’t what makes rivalries. Well said.
Shouldn't be a long video. They are not traditional rivals. Never played every year. Outside a couple meetings in ATL before Kirby got to UGA their history together is a big fat yaaaaaaawn.

I’ve been to every instance we’ve played since 2007, if anything, they feel bad for us/dont think about us. Of course, all fanbases have obnoxious fans, but fans thinking we’re Bamas rival is some real little brother stuff.
we don't think you're a rival
Pat dye will àlways be almost a great coach😊
Bro I don't care what UGA fans say. That bond catch is not clearly incomplete. The ball shuffles but he had his hands underneath. Which does not constitute as an incompletion.
Receiver was down in 1965 before the latteral.....
1 win in the past 10 games not what id consider a rival... And the only time they won we beat them the same year for SEC championship. And they only won that one bc top two receivers were out and top two DBs were out. Not an excuse they got lucky and stole one
The last 12 times they have played, UGA won once....Rivalry? I don't think so.
There is no amazing history of a rivalry . Alabama has dominated Georgia over the years, and still does.
It really is ridiculous Georgia didn’t get a chance to 3-peat due to 1 loss, to a top team, by only 3 points. Yes…they should have won this to assure getting in. But, there were two teams that got in with worse losses.
Bama is a far better team historically only Notre Dame rivals Bama
What’s forgotten in this “rivalry” is that Alabama is now 9-1 in the past 10 games. So much for a “rivalry” more like a domination. Don’t let the video fool you
UGA fan, why didnt you include the 2021 SEC championship game lol
They played each other in the 2020 regular season, you didn’t put that in😢
You can tell this video was made by a Georgia Bulldog Homer!
Father God said having sex before marriage is sexual immorality and is a big sin. It’s in Father God word which is the Bible look at- 1 Corinthians 6:18
No 2008= Georgia fan😂
Better Title: See How Good Alabama Is
Is it really a rivalry when they only played twice every 12 year cycle?
Blackout.
2:10 knees on the ground
Two ACL’s from not having a single win since 07, WHYYY INJURY GODS??!!!!
🤡 Ga was 2 injured players away from winning last year!
@@samright4661 ya know they played in the game right like actually got to play. Unlike 2 players that scored 3 touchdowns and over 200 yards receiving didn’t get to play at all. They played in the game.
@samright4661 not hardly not even close
How did 2008 with Georgias blackout that turned into their own funeral not make the list
Do Florida Georgia next
When are people gonna realize that teams or people can rival each other even if it’s one sided.. Goku and Vegeta are rivals but Goku wins every time. Same with UGA and Bama.
idk if its a rivalry georgia has only beaten us once since 2007 😭😭
That 2007 game was almost an exact replica of the 2017-2018 national championship which is insane
As a Georgia fan, 2003 was one of the best. Thomas Davis knocked out both the first and second string Alabama QB's. The man was a beast.
2007 in Tuscaloosa was the hottest I have ever been.
funny you should mention knocking Bama players out of the game considering the 2022 SEC and Natty games score difference 😂
(I'm just playing, I'm well past blaming that loss on injuries)
@@sean_nowell Players getting knocked out of the game is part of the game.
@@darthnatas953 that’s why I said I was playing and I’m past blaming our loss on that. read the full comment
It amazes me that this is a Georgia biased channel and they left about the 2015 in the rain beaten in athens by bama smdh
R.I.P camera guy at 36:27
This is not a rivialry
I live near mobile so the start of this video is already cool as fuck
There's no Alabama vs uga rivalry. It's just a conference game that's been competitive despite what uga fans want to believe. 43 - 26 record all time.
GO DAWGS! ❤️🖤🐶
The ball can touch the ground, as long as the ground does not aid in the catch.
1965 a fluke win his knee was down before he lateraled it 😂😂😂🤷
UGA grad here, bama wasnt really considered a rival when I went.
Florida
Auburn
Tech
Tennessee
Clemson (Directions to get to Clemson: 1-go E until you smell it 2-go N until you step in it)
Those are the ones who are rivals. With Florida being the largest, Florida is hated with a burning passion bordering on religious.
There are teams/schools we dont care about, but they aren't historic rivalries like those.

It’s not a rivalry because bama owns Georgia.
@@user-tl5bk9uv8x did you even read, or just come in to try and chest beat and pretend to know football?
As a Georgia fan I used to live in Alabama (7 years long) and the Bama fans there didn’t treat Georgia as this hated rival and anyone who roots for them are blasphemous. Alabama fans over there are some very nice people and they definitely do not view Georgia as a rival. As you stated, some Georgia fans see Alabama as a rival because they have beaten us several times and ruined our chances at the chip. Of course, that isn’t what makes rivalries. Well said.
@@cclyricsforjesus same, well I have been living near Huntsville for 5 years now.
correct opinion although for a while when Spurrier was there i considered USC a rival too. not so much anymore
Georgia loses 2022 if Jameson Williams doesn't get hurt
This ain’t no rivalry.. we been putting belt to behind forever 😂 Roll Tide🐘
Anthing Georgia ever took from bama they 😢😮earned it
Completely left out the 2008 game
tht 2012 game c'mon bro gotta have better game awareness smh shoulda jus batted the pass down
ROLL TIDE 🐘🐘🐘
Its not a rivalry. And this is a list of a few Georgia wins.
Shouldn't be a long video. They are not traditional rivals. Never played every year. Outside a couple meetings in ATL before Kirby got to UGA their history together is a big fat yaaaaaaawn.
