Its nice to hear Rick talk , i always thought he never got the chance, neither did Alan when he was in the band its always Francis who jokes around too much. The covers albums were a poor substitute for some new material
I think Rick was honest and naive. When he talks about losing all those good friends in the music business, it was probably due to the 'behind the scenes' actions of THE ANTI-QUO, Francis Rossi. Rossi was working 'hand in hand' with the Record Company behind everyone's backs. Read or listen to all the Alan Lancaster interviews for his revelations regarding the demise of THE FRANTIC FOUR. Rick was either oblivious or chose to ignore what was happening. It is good to hear Rick talk about his awarenes of the Record Co. control over the Band.
A manager is hired by the band to work for them in their best interests. The band does not hire a manager so they can work for him in his best interests. While Rick is talking a lot of sense in parts here, if you're a true Quo fan of long standing, it should be obvious to you he's holding back on the real truth. Quite why I don't know. Walker was long dead. The interview this came from was for a dvd that was supposed to be 'the' story of the band. Why not tell the truth? What did they have to lose after all those decades in the business? Even to this day Francis won't answer certain questions with a straight answer.
legal reasons. its why they never properly talk about Alan Crux (apparently) robbing them blind. It's all hearsay. if they don't have evidence to back up the claims, they could easily be sued for libel
Really nice listening to Rick. Such a great musician and human. Many thanks!
Always love listening to Rick.
Wow great to hear Rick talk so honestly far more interesting than Rossi with his in jokes etc
miss Rick

Rick doesn't do any artificial humour,as is a common feature of Rossi's conversations..He a good straight talker.Nothing phoney
Francis is very insecure, jealous of Rick and Alans natural talent

Quo as a company, not only a band. A lot of compromisses came around.

Probably not wanting to be sued if they can't prove what they say
