Beautiful work Shane... even though it's not a Sherman...lol. I really like the figures and cheers to you for sculpting the arms on the compass holder.
Looking forward to this dio Shane. You aren't wrong about hornet heads making the difference! Especially with Dragon figures which in my opinion have very poorly detailed faces usually. Great update on the halftrack. Shame about the paint running out lol nothing worse when you get in the groove and that happens.
twas a bit of a kick in the arse alright when I ran out but a mate came to the rescue and dropped a fresh jar from their stash over to me! those hornet heads are worth every cent! they really do make your figures come to life and due to the fine detail they almost paint themselves!
Hi mate, great progress . If you ever need lacquer thinner let me know I'll send you some I'll just not say what it is !! I have a zvezda German half track crew and I was very weary of them as they are zvezda but the detail is amazing. Hope your well matey
often I find that crews designed for certain vehicles or crew spaces very rarely fit well and this set unfortunately is no exception! I will have to some basic surgery to get the crew to fit naturally but it will be a good challenge! would it cost a lot to ship it over mate ?
I have never looked into it before, but I have heard other modelers mention it before it is something I will have to explore as I am very new Tamiya paints
thanks mate! I've found the command and control aspect of battles fascinating and thought this would tell a neat little story, hopefully I will be able to pull it off. Thanks for the offer mate, though you did need to put yourself out mate
Not to many preshade So will be interesting to see how it turns out. As to your Arms there too Fat for use of a Word :D best way to do them is to do the arms on the Wire then add the clothing this way you can avoid the over scaled arms, Also when doing the folds i sand smooth a cocktail stick and use baby oil so it does not stick to my putty, A rubber tipped brush is the best thing to use tough,
shall be interesting to see how much of it we will be able to see once the next layer goes down. As for the sculpting, ya I used far too much putty for the smock arms but it will do for now, but I will be doing my projects with sculpting in the future to practice my skills further
In this case the basecoat will be used as a means to add depth and shade to the next layers of dark yellow which will be doing down in very thin layers as to allow some of the darker color to show through. If I was going for hairspray chipping I doubt I would go such a rusty chipping color unless its abandoned ect.
Great update as usual I'm really looking forward to seeing your next update Shane , would you like a cardboard lolder for your bits and bobs on stick's if so PM me and I will send you some take care my friend 👍👏👏👏👏👏🐑😁
thanks Neil ! hope to have the next episode up by next week as a mate who was nearby came to the rescue with a spare pot of FX-60! also thanks for the offer I'll be sure to let you know if I need extra holders! thanks mate!

Nice weather here in Belfast. Cruddy rain coming tomorrow though :(
the rain finally found us down here mate, our spring was short lived as ever haha
Hello Shane, Can you not use a cellulose thinner from a car factors shop in place of the Tamiya lacquer thinner?
I have never looked into it before, but I have heard other modelers mention it before it is something I will have to explore as I am very new Tamiya paints
interesting, i like how you try out new approaches whenever possible. will be cool to see how this progresses :)
haha I like to try out different things to practice as much as possible, now if it works will be a different story haaha
Fantastic work as always Shane. Love where this is going for your Dio. Heck Brother if I had your address I'd send you tamiya lacquer thinner.
thanks mate! I've found the command and control aspect of battles fascinating and thought this would tell a neat little story, hopefully I will be able to pull it off.

Is this base coat for hairspray chipping, to act as a rust base? Or was that color just your choice?
In this case the basecoat will be used as a means to add depth and shade to the next layers of dark yellow which will be doing down in very thin layers as to allow some of the darker color to show through. If I was going for hairspray chipping I doubt I would go such a rusty chipping color unless its abandoned ect.
What do you use to hold the model to that bottle?
I use superglue, its crude but does the job well
