I am neitherJewish nor Israeli, but I admire this People, one of the most incredible in the world, surviving for over two thowsand years with work, culture, science , always attacked by other peoples, never attacking anyone. Of course since 1948 there was been violance for its survival.
Our father, who was both Cantor and Rabbi (and Optometrist!) and an incredible Jewish singer, has been away after he passed, for longer than I can recall, that is, until now. Hearing our Rabbi Chaim sing along with the depths of his love and years and years later, felt as if Grandpa Hi seemed to sprout forth kindness and love in our own home and shule. We miss "Grandpa Hi" terribly, and even as a child I remember Grandpa's Cantorial and the sound of Dad's Rabbi singing and, even now, stays with me, hearing as our very own for our Dad.
The first time I heard this song was in 1999 on a tourist bus with Joseph Shulam driving up to Jerusalem for the first time. Gave me chills. I have never forgotten that experience or the song.
I have always loved Jewish music and been moved by it. Im not Jewish. Then I discovered that my great great grandfather was a Jew. It feels as if ancestral voices were calling me all along. Shalom.
SO recognizable ! My father was a JEW, and i call myself a JEW after i got a strange awareness of my roots around the age of 40 years . I,am not religious but it feels like a calling .

In 1967 this was broadcasting after the war ... Although I was just 9 years old, I cried with relief that G'd saved his chosen people once again! As a christian I was so touched by this miracle from the G'd of Awraham, Jitschak and Ja'akov; And now this memory came alive by this beautiful performance in Amsterdam. Thanks a lot for sharing this love-song! Tov meod!
My favorite You Tube segment. Love the Cantors. I was born in Amsterdam, immigrated as a very young child to the United States in 1956. My mother's family were Portuguese Jews, so I particularly love the setting. When this piece was recorded who would have imagined what has happened to our world. May this piece continue to be an inspiration in times like this.
I was growing up in Israel at the time. I will never forget the nerve rack g year before the war. The festival that introduced what became the second Israeli anthem, I remember the mor I g of June 5 and every minute of the week of war. It was God’s will fulfilled.

No, it doesn't really at all. Jews reject Jesus Christ, this makes them sons of the devil. Only Christians worship the One True God, in Trinity. The Jews are worshippers of Satan.
@@GMarijs What? That verse is showing that it is not GOD who has been unfaithful to the Hebrews (Jews) but the Jews THEMSELVES that have been unfaithful to God. God is faithful to His promise - the Jews rejected it. How can you not understand this? The Jews have the Law and the Prophets which can lead them to Christ. Many thousands of Jews DID accept the Messiah - they became the Church which is the New Israel. The Jews that rejected Christ became "the Jews" who we know today as the Pharasaical, Talmudic, kabbalistic sons of the devil. God will receive any of them back, and does, when they repent and convert from their anti-Christian Judaism, and become Christians.
