Since 7 October birthdays have gone, Advent, Christmas, the New Year, Lent and Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Easter looms and still they are not with their families, friends and us. Yes, Us because they are us. The events and celebrations that punctuate the life of my family, friends and I are tainted with an overwhelming sadness. I wish, pray and think everyday for the release of those captured hostages. I can only hope against hope really that the light of the World - however thin shines on them in their Darkness. Those who perpetrated those heinous acts and support their terror destroyed and are destroying so much - our lives will never be the same. Look what they do. We are just one family - there are millions and millions of us. What they did that day knocked my lifelong faith in humanity sideways, turned it upside down and inside out and that´s the truth of it. As always, I'm in tears. This man's voice is miraculous. A little history. In 1967, immediately prior to the 6 Days War, this was the single most popular song played on Israeli radio. It expresses the beauty and magic of the old City of Jerusalem, a city banned to Jews in spite of UN mandates since 1948. As May, 1967 drew to a close, war in the Middle East became imminent, along with the likelihood of the complete destruction of the State of Israel. Along with the slaughter of every man, woman, and child, and no nation willing to take in any survivors. Every piece of public land, every park in Israel was consecrated to be used as Jewish cemeteries. Hitler killed 6 million, the arab world was on the brink of killing another 3 million. And THIS SONG was on everyone's lips. It is considered by some to be Israel's second national anthem. Well the war came. David ben Gurion, first Prime Minister of Israel once said that any Israeli who does not believe in miracles is not a realist. The war came, and was over in 6 days. Jerusalem was reunited, and in days, this song was sung at the Western Wall. True stories. So yes, I'm still in tears.
Six days, and not a day more. As the world was made in six days, and then rest. Yeshua is Lord and Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Root and Offspring of David.
One of the most sacred songs I've ever been privileged to hear which brings me to divine tears every time. Your version is spine-tingling and makes me desire to spread more love to every being on our blessed Earth. Praying that the war in the Middle East will end very soon and we can live in peace. BTW... I grew up Catholic and am not Jewish, yet I honor all those who understand what this song means and represents for Israel as well as the entire world.

As cool as wine, the wind is sighing Through silent mountain pines The evening light is slowly dying As bells of evening chimes So many songs, so many stories The rocks in hills recall … Within your heart resides city The ancient stones, the wall Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Forever young, forever old My heart will sing your songs of glory, Jerusalem. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, O City with a heart of gold My heart will sing your songs of glory, Jerusalem.
It was 1993 when I have heard this song for the very first time in my life at the end of "Schindler's List". I got hit to my heart right away. I am a Christian from Germany and I am so sorry for all the sorrow and grief your people have to face especially since Oct 7. I never thought something like this would ever be possible again. I will never forget all these pictures I have seen. I am far away and I am not involved in any of these conflicts nore did I loose any of my friends or family members but I do feel so much pain and sadness, being speechless that it is impossible to nearly get what the Israelis and Jews have to go through. No idea if they can ever heal from this but crossing fingers for this. I love your voice and how you perform this song. It goes straight to the heart and I hope it will be able to give hope to all people. God save Israel, solidarity with Israel and NEVER AGAIN IS NOW.

The voice of this angel is terrible, deep, majestic in all his videos. Praise the Lord your God, O people of Israel. He chose you, and made you his children. The time of the Messiah's coming is near 🙏♥
One of my favourite songs. When I hear it, it makes me think how things would have been if my English mother’s family hadn’t left their Jewish roots behind. They converted, married out, tried to deny the link but my mother, she always had questions, always was drawn to certain songs, words, foods, she accepted the hidden part of her heritage, she wanted to visit Israel, I think she might have even found her way back “home” if we hadn’t lost her in 2017. She certainly gave me a love of the music, food, and history, even though I am a Hindu! 🤣❤️
With respect and sincere good wishes. If your mother, herself, had a maternal link to the Jews in her family, she and you ARE Jewish. No conversion can alter that.
Though I'm Brazilian and I can't understand a word, my soul is completely joyful and I feel like I stand before God. There's a voice roaring inside and I feel grateful. All hail the Lord in his heavenly Throne.

Jewish music makes me feel so safe, hopeful, calm. Feelings I've never felt in Church. I feel so connected to Judaism, and I can feel Hashem near me at all moments. This song is so inspiring, everytime I hear it, I feel better and loved. Music has such an amazing power. Toda
Dear Auguste, You write "I feel so connected to Judaism" etc. etc. One never knows the root of one's neshomo-soul. Maybe. Just maybe? Do keep thinking about The One Above - and you will surely connect with Him. "Have we not AL, ONE Father?!" Believe me, Auguste when you truly and sincerely love Him, Hashem will surely return that love to you! Guaranteed...
Auguste Angers, I understand exactly how you feel - that is why I converted to Judaism 19 years ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life. If there is a synagogue near you, you may wish to contact them to see if they offer any programs for conversion to Judaism. Another option you may wish to consider if there isn't a synagogue nearby is an online conversion course such as this one: converttojudaism.online/ The face-to-face (not online) conversion process typically takes about 1 year and you may face some challenging questions from the rabbi(s) involved in the process, but the joy of formally adopting the Jewish faith that is within your heart is worth all of the effort. Shalom and good luck!
B´ruj HASHEM!!!!!!!! how beautiful hallel is this! Dear HASHEM we eager you, we are waiting for YOU. Adonai, bless your children of Israel. The ones already returning, the ones left to return very soon. We want Moshiaj NOW! King of kings, Lord of Lords YOU ARE!!!! shalom
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
When I grew up, I had a terrible childhood, I had no father. When I was about four years, I knew not much but one day I heard a voice that came from above talked to me. I didn't understand at first, but I leaned about Elohim....since then I understood that no matter if I have real father or not, that I actually have the best father a child can wish for itself.....since then he is part of my live in good and also difficult times..... and I asked him to teach me everything about him, where he came from, he taught me about Jerusalem, Hebrew language and all teachings in the Torah in Hebrew. He is teaching me Hebrew and to understand everything I read and study..... before I always felt empty and something is missing.... but I can feel that my emptiness disappears and I feel filled with this wonderful and warm love insideI never knew existed. I feel so truly blessed to also have shown this beautiful song and this amazing voice from Shulem, I am so truly touched by his warm voice. I am immensely grateful and I wish that as many people are blessed with this beautiful song. Please keep safely and be blessed.
Thanks so very much indeed Barbara for your kind reply. I immensely appreciate it. Please keep safely and blessed as well and a wonderful New Year to you. :-)
Hi Interstellar, Well, it matters. It's about life and death. 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:10-13 KJV)

Wonderful description of how it feels. Think of it as a small token of the blessings that will go out from Zion/Yerushalaim when the Kingdom is established with Messiah as King of kings!

Jerusalém de ouro
ar da montanha claro como o vinho
e cheiro de pinheiros
levado pelo vento do crepúsculo
ao som dos sinos
e no sono da árvore e da pedra

e em seu coração uma parede
Jerusalém de ouro
e de cobre e de luz
para todas as suas melodias
eu sou o violino
Jerusalém de ouro
e de cobre e de luz
para todas as suas melodias
eu sou o violino
como é que os poços secaram
o mercado está vazio
e ninguém vem ao monte do templo
na cidade antiga
e no túnel na pedra
ventos uivantes
e nenhum homem desce ao mar morto
pelo caminho de Jericó.
Jerusalém de ouro
e de cobre e de luz
para todas as suas melodias
eu sou o violino
Jerusalém de ouro
e de cobre e de luz
para todas as suas melodias
eu sou o violino
eu sou o violino
Jerusalém de ouro
e de cobre e de luz

JERUSALEM OF GOLD
The mountain air is clear as wine
And the scent of pines
Is carried on the breeze of twilight
With the sound of bells.
And in the slumber of tree and stone
Captive in her dream
The city that sits solitary
And in its midst is a wall.

Behold I am a violin for all your songs.

How the cisterns have dried
The market-place is empty
And no one frequents the Temple Mount
In the Old City.
And in the caves in the mountain
Winds are howling
And no one descends to the Dead Sea
By way of Jericho.
Chorus:
But as I come to sing to you today,
And to adorn crowns to you (i.e. to tell your praise)
I am the smallest of the youngest of your children (i.e. the least worthy of doing so)
And of the last poet (i.e. of all the poets born).
For your name scorches the lips
Like the kiss of a seraph
If I forget thee, Jerusalem,
Which is all gold...
Chorus:
We have returned to the cisterns
To the market and to the market-place
A ram's horn calls out on the Temple Mount
In the Old City.
And in the caves in the mountain
Thousands of suns shine -
We will once again descend to the Dead Sea
By way of Jericho!

Believe me, Auguste when you truly and sincerely love Him, Hashem will surely return that love to you! Guaranteed...
Christianity’s Hebrew root!
They just don’t believe Jesus is the son of God!
Check Messianic Jews!
Auguste Angers, I understand exactly how you feel - that is why I converted to Judaism 19 years ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life. If there is a synagogue near you, you may wish to contact them to see if they offer any programs for conversion to Judaism. Another option you may wish to consider if there isn't a synagogue nearby is an online conversion course such as this one: converttojudaism.online/
The face-to-face (not online) conversion process typically takes about 1 year and you may face some challenging questions from the rabbi(s) involved in the process, but the joy of formally adopting the Jewish faith that is within your heart is worth all of the effort. Shalom and good luck!
You should try coming to visit Israel, then you will feel the unexplained and magic of Israel.

There is nothing more beautiful than an incredible voice praising the Most High. I think I just experienced a little bit of Heaven.
God Bless Jerusalem!
I don't believe there is a better rendition of this wonderful song.
Wonderful!!!
Авраам Фрид тоже как прекрасно исполняет эту песню !
I've heard many versions of this beautiful song but the purity and emotion in his voice brings tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my skin.
I fully agree. Beautiful- to put it mildly.
Shalom from India. Live Long Israel
B"H Shulem has the most amazing voice.
This just proves how beautiful music can transcend language .
Music is the language of the Soul!

What a soulful rendition of Jerusalem of Gold! Yasher koach!
Very beautiful brother. I did this song at Church. God bless.
And God bless you
Thanks so very much indeed Barbara for your kind reply. I immensely appreciate it. Please keep safely and blessed as well and a wonderful New Year to you. :-)

No matter religions. That voice is so deep and touching.
Hi Interstellar,
Well, it matters.
My love for Hashem's holy city and how I long to be there .Baruch Hashem. Amen.
I am Jewish and my last name is Dietrich. My father from America's north and my mother from it's South. Today I am where Lincoln is from in Kentucky. Salvation in Yeshua is first for the Jew, then for the Gentile, one man. I am a descendant of David.
Pray for beautiful Israel and Israeli people. Love from Japan.
I wished I knew Hebrew, just to sing that one beautiful song.
You can learn it
@@ralphwiznitzer6176 Sure, but that would mean a LOT of time and effort, just for a song.
Look at a version with the Hebrew words transliterated. It makes it very easy to sing a foreign language song.
I am a catholic too and madly in love with God's chosen people, read hebrew, pray nthe shema everyday beides my catholic devotions, celebrate the pesah religiously for about thirty years now. it is the family event of the year. isreal will be the apple of God's eyes forever. never will he forget it jus as a mother cannot eer forget her young. may israel come to recognise the messiah jeshua Jesus. shalom from malta

Kol Ha Kavod🤗
The best beautiful grace love your heart beautiful voice ❤❤❤❤❤
This song has become my favorite song.
I am catholic but this is so beautiful
Why do you call yourself a Catholic, not a Christian?!!
Why do you ask silly questions?

The voice of an angel. Absolutely beautiful. Israel is forever.
there is SOMETHING about this music that speaks to a Latina from Texas that's NEVER heard this unearthly music..makes me WANT to say words of poetry and beauty ..words that explain THIS rush of consuming emotion that makes me ache....and makes me want to cleave my soul to this inner cosmic implosion forever
well! nice

Mary, a book written in Spanish documents the Yahudim from Spain who hid durng the inquisition in that country ... the author indicates nearly every Spanish name that ends in "z" is traceable to one of the 12 tribes ... YHWH fulfilled ( is fulfilling ) His promise to bless all nations through the seed of Avraham, and you may have more Israeli blood in you than many now living in Eretz Yisrael ... keep seeking the Most High ... this music registers in your deepest being for a reason!
This is the music of a people seeking to go back home for 2000 years. I am Jewish and yet I listen to this and many other songs in both Hebrew and Yiddish and I just sit here and cry. The suffering and joy in much of our music is astounding.
Wonderful description of how it feels. Think of it as a small token of the blessings that will go out from Zion/Yerushalaim when the Kingdom is established with Messiah as King of kings!
The best version after the choir of Schindler's list❤❤❤Thanks for your beautiful voice.
I am not a Jew. I am actually a Hindu officially but an atheist at heart. However, this song is so, so, so beautiful it never fails to move me!
Swapnil Sinha Is the Jewish God of the Christians calling you ? Yeshua , ( Jesus ) He is Jewish and God never abandons Israel.
You can feel the beauty inspired by God, but you cant feel him?
Jesus loves you 💗
Jesus loves you bro and cares so much about you
Baptism by spirit.

Dulcet Hebrew song! So like Jewish song that gives a feeling of strong hope out of sorrow. My deep reverence and admiration to this awesome nation!
