Vergil memes aside… I have to admit, this guy has just the laidback bro man that you can relate with on a spiritual level while able to cut the shit and goes full on hitman at a drop of a hat while still tease the enemy. What really strikes me is that he doesn’t have much of a form in his kenjutsu, with the mindset literally quoted from his first np: sword forms and styles don’t really matter, rather the stronger fighter will win. Period. In that aspect, he sees sword forms like Iai and ito-ryu as a form of restriction, and he isn’t wrong, masters of that kenjutsu form won’t be prepared for anything that can counter that sword style, especially since their muscles are dedicated to the art so much it’ll be nigh impossible to adapt to said counter unless they get creative. And that’s where saito thrives in his own swordplay. No form, no pattern, no restrictions, no limits, nothing. Just him and his swords, that’s it. He can ascertain any situation he’s in with an enemy and act accordingly to counter and adapt to said situation. Gil? He can just go on the aggressive and use his agility to dodge the massive vault that Gil has and close in on gil’s vulnerability. Herc? Go on the passive and use that monster’s massive sword against him and take advantage of it’s weight and whittle down his lives with precise and fatal strikes. Anything the world throws at him, he can push right back in his own style. I think his swordplay can give the grand servants a good sweat, hell, perhaps even Vergil himself as a servant. After all, being formless due to no form, and being limitless due to being a flow can make him invincible.
My dad made me watch Rurouni Kenshin set in the meiji restoration period, and man Saito in both here and the anime including the live action remind me of Vergil and his voice actor Dan Southworth, live action actor looking a lot like Dan specifically
I've yet to clear the story of Imaginary Scramble and I did even less farming, guess ToC took most of my time, still don't regret it anyway kek. Thanks for the vid, I think I finally got why everyone call Saito like he was Vergil, having the same seiyuu as Nero. :)
