Someone asked "how many hours a day do I spend at my desk standing?" I spend all day at my shop, and its rare to find me sitting. Its a tough sell, as we are so used to sitting for everything, but once you start standing, you won't stop! I hear it all, back problems, knee problems etc.. etc... Sitting is actually the cause of pain. I have 2 knees that slide in an out of joint (ACL damage), a steel plate in my neck, 2 broken back injuries, steel plates in my wrist.. believe it or not I could go on, but if anyone needs to sit, I'm a prime candidate. Standing keeps me moving and agile all day. if you can't bare the thought of ejecting your chair yet, I would go with the 80 / 20 rule. As the Japanese leaders I admire so much would say "Please try". if you don't like it after a week, you can alway bring back the old char.
