What I love about Nier and the music in the style of the gospel is that it brings the whole meaning of the word "church" full circle.
Nier (Replicant) defies the order of a man-made 'god' while in Automata, they question the existence of man AND god. Can anything without flesh truly be sentient? Can machine possess a soul? If machines can process emotions does that imply that they are capable of being human?
The psychological standpoint of 'god' is merely self-government and you are your own master.
So to worship or praise god is, in a way, giving faith that you have the power to overcome and be grateful for what you have given yourself but religion has deconstructed this over the years to push this perspective on an unseen entity. An outside force that is beyond us yet within us (the mind/soul).
And the 'devil' is just another mask for our actions. It is just the same as 'god' and there is no one vs the other. "They" are one and the same, "they" are YOU.
It took me a while to appreciate the first song, but for those who aren't a fan of it, the next song starts at 5:00

I haven't played drakengard before so a remaster of 1-3 would be great so I can see how exactly we got to here with automata. I also just want more of yoko taro works now that I've been so engrossed in Replicant 1.22 and Automata.

The beginning I mean
It's such a shame that the whole vibe of the playlist (which has some genuinely good tracks) is obliterated by those two rave-ass tracks at the beginning, completely out of place and a bit tasteless
i can see how it can be a bit bothersome yeah, so that’s why i put time stamps for each of the songs in the description so you don’t have to listen to the songs you don’t like! not every track is for everyone, and that’s okay! have a nice day!
Looking back the first one isn't too bad. I love your work and I love to listen the playlist as a whole, perhaps that's why I think that about the beginning.
