Great video Paul! I’m fairly new to harps and I have a bit flat sounding reed so this will come in handy. Also what was that melody? it sounded so good!
Not surprised it took you a while to get it tuned. Those stainless steel reeds are much harder than the brass ones in other harps. Much easier with the brass ones.
I don't think it has a name brand, was just one from my local music shop. Any chromatic tuner will do the trick, there are even websites for tuners these days and a multitude of apps for your phone too! Thanks for watching and hope you're managing to tune your harps okay :-)
Hi Living, thanks for watching, i hope you found the video helpful! I would have thought that Dorian mode is third position? Dorian mode being D on a C harp. I use the circle of fifths to determine positions and as such all things G is 2nd position on a C harp to me.
Thanks Paul for the insight in tuning reeds,I need to tune a couple of mine to paddy richter …and you make it look quite easy….
no problem at all, practise makes perfect!
I've been looking at harmonica tools, they all seem expensive

Totally! Brass is a much softer metal. Thanks for watching Dennis, happy Harpin!
