I fear bias in AI for epilepsy. I think that there is one major bias that still exists in the documentation of today that implies that if a person still has seizures while under the care of a neurologist it's because the person is not taking their meds. While that may be the case, 30% of people don't respond to meds. The same bias exists in documentation suggesting that 'epilepsy can be controlled with proper medication". Well, not exactly true. Yet. documentation suggests it and this ignored the grey area or nuance of reality. Sorry for the rant. Great episode btw.
I also feel frustration when I read the generalised remark “epilepsy can be controlled with proper medication”. It’s a remark reflecting extraordinary ignorance, unfortunately!
