- Nokia's latest feature phone is tough. But how tough? I put it through its paces, because while not everyone want to buy a feature phone, as distinct from a fully fledged smartphone, most folks want one that will last.
The Nokia 800 Tough will certainly manage that. It's not a phone for everybody, but if you're in the market for a feature phone and you want something that will definitely last the distance, it's seriously worthwhile.

They can bully you all they want, but you my boy are doing the right thing and saving your mental health, and on your own accord. Good work, i'm also switching off my smartphone.

My reasoning exactly, sick of being on my phone all day. I have talents to pursue!
I have been using this phone for the last two years and its been great. The problem with most smart phones now is that the screens and overall size of the phones is getting way too large. I am a tradesman and phones are just too big to fit in pockets and prone to being damaged as I often carry tools in pockets as well. In my line of work i could be crawling on the ground, up and down ladders etc. Also the fact wearing gloves at work means I need to remove the gloves to operate a smart phone. If i want to go for a walk or bike ride, this phone is not really noticeable in the pocket. Its also a good phone to get away from the smart phone addiction. The best feature that is not often talked about it the hotspot feature. It allows you to connect a computer, tablet or other smartphone to it. It is 4G and has volte feature so should be able to be used in the future as 3G is shutting down.
Do you have to delete all the messages you get, or does each contact have their own «folder» in the inbox?
I work in IT and this is my work SIM phone. The moment I clock off, I turn my phone off. Nobody can bother me out of shift and on-call hours.
This phone is perfect for my mom who's already a senior citizen. She isn't that techie, and she's clumsy when it comes to gadgets so I think this is the best for her.
No mention of the kaiOS operating system?
was looking to see you atleast dial some numbers on it so we can see how well the screen size works for the elderly
What put me off was finding the odd comment in various places that said it had randomly bricked itself, and the flashlight is kind of weak, and the centre pad is hard to select things with. It's a shame really, as when in 2G mode it can last over 35+ days in standby.
Anyone know if this has support for spotify? Or are there any other feature phones with spotify? My music the one thing I can't let go of.

Get a cheap(ish) tablet and use that for music
you wouldn't be using Spotify if you want to be independent. you may be searching genres you really like, not just zapping
looking for a phone to bring with multi week hiking trips for calling without having to worry about battery life or it getting damaged. looks great so far
Came across a new Samsung Xcover BT2710 (unlocked) with charger, USB cable and headset for 28 AUD a couple of weeks ago, I've charged it only once, so a really good battery.
It have GPS, compass, Bluetooth, 3G, Google maps (can't get it to work though), flashlight etc.
Bought it at a good will store.

Its what you'd expect from the other nokia phones, like Snake game, a game store, whatsapp, etc.

All these reviews must be conducted by people with extra large hands. In real life the phone is massive, the only suprise to me in this video is that the slab didn't break when the phone was drop tested.
I assure you I am by no means a giant. But yeah, it’s a solid brick of a phone. No slabs were harmed during the making of this video, however.
Another brand is the Sonim. They make tough feature models as well.

can anybody give me a concrete answer as to why nokia still lies about battery life? I got a 8110 4g , I barely use my data connection and I can't get more than 2 and a half days of battery life. Also for this one I am reading that the standby time is nowhere near what they claim. Nice review btw.
Most phone manufacturers exaggerate battery life because they are tested in a laboratory and real life operation varies.
Does it support whatsapp? I mean at least a simple version?

If it only it came without facebook and the rest of the stuff that you want to avoid from a smartphone. Give me a phone without google/android/youtube/facebook and every other company that just wants to steal your info.
• Give me a simple sturdy phone with gps using open maps with no connection to google. Screen is to small to use it to navigate while driving anyway.
• No games on it at all
• Telegram/Signal support
• Some kind if support for listening to pods would be great, same with Spotify. But at least let it have good mp3 support so it can decode at good quality.
• And most important Good and i mean GOOD Bluetooth support. Most of these phones have super bad bluetooth quality even with good headphones.
I think I want one for when I go to the beach. 🤔

I don't have the review model any more, but 3-4 days for just calls/texts? Yeah, it'd do that pretty handily, and that's a great use case scenario I hadn't thought of!

Very good hardware but terrible OS. Kay OS is awful. It has lots of failures in everyday tasks like looking up a number in your calendar. It also has bugs when sharing WiFi. Many times it does not work and you must restart the mobile. And, of course, it is an ordeal to connect it to the Bluetooth of the car. Sometimes it says he's connected and it's not.
Nokia used to be much better witch Symbian. I'm using this phone for 3 years and I know what I say.

You're not wrong that you can totally do that -- but I think it's fair to point out for those who want/need a physical keyboard (or might not be connecting it with data to enable Google Assistant) that it is on the harder side to use.

No mobile
Terrible phone, battery lasts for ages but after less than a year of use it has failed and screen won't turn on half the time, sometimes decides to work sometimes doesn't ... Music folder I had randomly deleted itself, calls cut out mid call, turns off on its own for no reason and most of the time performance is so sluggish. I don't see the point of having such a slow phone that tries to be half a smart phone if none of the Apps run smoothly, just either use a decent smart phone or an actual "dumb phone" without youtube and internet etc cause it's just a pointlessly slow and frustrating experience either go one or the other.. Nokia 3310 level basic or smart phone with touch screen... This phone tried to be somewhere in between but just fails.. supposedly military standard tough it's a good job I didn't use it traveling as a supposedly solid backup that will be reliable ...waste of money poor form Nokia
If it is faulty get it replaced or repaired , I have had mine since 2019 and has been faultless.

The great phone that nobody cares...
There's definitely a market both for rugged phones and feature phones -- and it's one that the 800 Touch mostly meets. Not a phone for everyone, sure.
This phone is a crap, preistorica tool with a software so poor that is pretty embarrassing to use, to handle, terribile speed and no function at all, no connection between contacts and events in the calendar. What a disgrace of phone. Forget about it. All NMD phones are so incredible outdated and their customer service is ridiculous.

Nope, not getting paid. WhatsApp is present -- what exactly is it that you'd want me to say? Like any other app built around an expectation of smartphones, using it with a keypad is feasible, but slow.
