As the washing machine, you avoid the hazards in some worlds like the bramble or sand. And the question about the "odd one out" in Clanker's Cavern was about which object we did NOT see in that world - An anvil, a hammer, or a bolt. The right answer was hammer. You chose anvil, but that WAS seen. Same with the bolt. Also, my advice for anyone who has a hard time Gruntilda's secrets when they play this game again: WRITE THEM DOWN!!!
Banjo Tooie is may personal favorite game and as someone who does some speedrunning of the game I am super excited to watch you play it blind, I think it will be a refreshing perspective. Don't worry about the FPS segments too much, they are more maze-like than shooter like in the main game and there also aren't very many of them
The Atari credits (or lack of credits) thing did happen, and it was that, and not getting paid properly for games that sold well, that actually pushed several programmers to leave the company and create the company Activision. The name was chosen specifically to appear before Atari in the phonebook.
I'm kinda happy to see that you like Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. I didn't much enjoy it when I first got it because I was HOPING it was going to be a platformer. When I got it for Christmas, I ended up playing it everytime I was exercising on the treadmill. It was in the same room with the xbox 360, so we ended up playing it for the exercise (ironically) while walking and running and it paradoxically kept us interested while doing vigorous work. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I found myself unable to replay the game because the joy of discovering everything for the first time was replaced with boring repetitive missions that I remembered why I didn't like to play too many times. I guess theres just not a variety of ways to play Banjo Kazooie that the lack of variety (cause you mostly need Speed or Maneuverability to win) in Nuts and Bolts was what ultimately turned me away.
ScykohPlays This is the first LP of yours I've watched, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I didn't even know you had a Let's Play channel until you started Banjo Kazooie. I can't wait to see you play Banjo Tooie :)
I can't wait to see you play Banjo-Tooie when you get to it. And as someone who's played it, I can say that the First Person Shooter based areas are actually pretty decent. Also a heads up, you will not be able to grab everything in each area the first time you visit like in Kazooie, the worlds are much more interconnected this time ^^;...
About the question with clanker, "Which doesn't belong." It's a lot simpler than you think. It's simply, "Which of these things didn't appear in Clanker's Cavern?" -Anvil: Clanker was chained to a giant anvil at the bottom of the pool. -Bolt: Clanker's blowhole has a bolt in it, and you use this bolt to ride to the top of the stage to get a jiggy. -Hammer: There is no hammer in Clanker's Cavern.
Nice work, Scykoh- I've thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough. The funny thing is, I own Banjo-Kazooie, but unfortunately never seemed to get around to playing it properly. After watching this, I may just give it another go!
The Jiggy spawns there because that was the last Jinjo you collected, which spawns a Jiggy. I'm assuming the game is put into a specific "Mode" during the character parade that ignores all arguments that would normally prevent that Jiggy from spawning.
if you enjoyed banjo kazooie, you'll love banjo tooie dude. its really fun! Can't wait to for you to play! i used to play that game when I was younger and I still remember it like I was just playing it yesterday :) oh and Gobi did make a reference to Banjo Tooie saying he's leaving to the "Lava world" which is Hailfire peaks ;)
I'm pretty sure there was a thing about developers not being allowed to have credits in their game. Though that spawned the first Easter egg in the video game "Adventure", which had a secret room featuring the programmer's name. :) It was a clever trick for when he wanted to prove he made the game. Also! at 40:00 ,isn't that a painting of the pirate that was meant to be the original character for this game? I think his name was Captain Blackeye.
If you want a good carrot dish try peeling the entire carrot with a potato skin peeler and cook it in bread. Experiment with different amounts but get it right and it tastes rly good.
I'm saving myself for you scykoh... I saw a let's play of someone doing banjo twoie, and being as I've never played the game... I decided to wait for you since you're more entertaining.
It's been great watching this from the beginning and experiencing this game without being able to play it. I always wondered why people held disdain for Nuts And Bolts and I finally see why. They stripped the core gameplay far too much in Nuts And Bolts where it doesn't even feel like these originals. I still love Nuts And Bolts, but I now understand. Anyways, great series Scykoh, keep doing your thing.
the developer thing is true there are a few easter esggs from games with devs putting their names in them due to it Adenture (i bleive that was the name) is one of these examples and also *cue fangirl scream* eeee so happy to hear that your playing ORAS because its will be the first ame ive ever preordered so i will be playing it somewhat alongside to it.
The "fiery land" thing that Goby says is in reference to Hailfire Peaks, which is a level in Banjo-Tooie. I won't spoil anything for you, but I will say that you can and will find him there when you decide to play the second game. C:
Idk if anyone has said this yet buuut... That last shot that grunty shoots (and misses) was supposed to turn banjo into something...but again...she misses..
They originally had her not carrying anything. Big breasts. But, they added the melons to cover that up so it'd be more appropriate. I think Grant Kirkhope himself said that on Super Beard Bros. when they played (and completed) this game.
do, you did get 100%? Oh, and what's with that game over? Come on, Rare, cut him some slack!!!!!!!!! there is a party on a beach an all is happy. Then "oh i will save that ugly witch!" GAME OVER
jay Dee They went beyond cutting the protagonists slack, they showed Klungo struggling pathetically against a rock that's three times his size. You're not supposed to think he can actually move it(and he canonically can't.) Game over is unusual wording but in this context it just means "the end."
You like Nut's and Bolts more??!!! ...Well to each his/her own. And yea the Gobi lava is a reference to the fire and ice board in Banjo Tooie. The FPS in Banjo Tooie isn't all bad and the sections tend to go by quick (except in one certain factory level where the objective is annoying as heck).
CandleCat That makes little sense, though. He wouldn't go from world nine to world seven (at least not in Banjo Kazooie, where there is very little inter-level interaction. It's sequel, on the other hand, may very well include a mission in which you jump around from world to world, as you so often do in that game.)
You probably could fight Grunty as Washing Machine if you hacked the game and changed your location after you became Washer Banjo(Banjo after turning into a washing machine)
the first person sections arent bad.. they are actually quite fun... i remember enjoying them a lot and at that time and i didnt even like fps shooters much
i wonder if scykoh can beat Cullex without that heavy shell armor(is this the right name?i remember my strateggy as giving Geno one armor that made him god, because he could not die,but he was kinda weak,so i used damage egg that can be used unlimited times to deal more damage and EVENTUALLY kill cullex)
WAIT! Scykoh you never played banjo - tooie, O.o then did you get any of the references in nuts and bolts? specifcally the banjo museum level with all the bit of information from the previous games
Just binge-watched this entire Lets Play while I self isolate from the Covid-19 outbreak. You've got a new subscriber.
21:32 haha they gave credits to Microsoft while showing a toilet lol.
The lesson we learned from Rare: if you take something and put eyes on it, you can use it as a charater

"Bad thing is that the Jinjonator is not in Smash 4"
Me: Well... Banjo is in Smash 5.
I don't play smash so correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe his final smash (or is it ultimate) is the Jinjonator.

This was one of my favourite playthrough, so many memories =) Looking forward to see Banjo-Tooie, even more than ORAS xD

For the jiggy on the jinjo thing, that's because you got the jinjo last, and the night spawned again during credits
if you enjoyed banjo kazooie, you'll love banjo tooie dude. its really fun! Can't wait to for you to play! i used to play that game when I was younger and I still remember it like I was just playing it yesterday :)

It is indeed, and he appears in Banjo Tooie, surprisingly enough, so they didn't end up scrapping him.
"Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts n' Bolts os my FAVORITE Banjo-Kazooie game." - Scykoh
I'd also like to point out that it is the most underrated.
If you want a good carrot dish try peeling the entire carrot with a potato skin peeler and cook it in bread. Experiment with different amounts but get it right and it tastes rly good.

They originally had her not carrying anything. Big breasts. But, they added the melons to cover that up so it'd be more appropriate. I think Grant Kirkhope himself said that on Super Beard Bros. when they played (and completed) this game.

The lava world Gobi references is part of a deleted world. He says it in the Fall version of Click Clock Wood. About Episode 18, I think?
No, it's a reference to the sequel, in which he appears in hailfire peaks.
No. It's a deleted world, that was supposed to be where Mad Monster Mansion is. It was repurposed in the sequel.
CandleCat That makes little sense, though. He wouldn't go from world nine to world seven (at least not in Banjo Kazooie, where there is very little inter-level interaction.
