I felt the same way about Belladonna (I loved Foxglove too!). So good! My top 3 books were Mad Honey, Divine Rivals, and Ink Blood Sister Scribe. Thanks for sharing!
I feel that last sentiment! Nailing down what I really love in genres! It’s been such an eye opening reading year for me, one that allowed me to slowly spread my reading “wings” lol. Diving into epic fantasy & classics that I’ve always told myself to stay away from, thinking I wouldn’t enjoy them. But now I know they are my actual favorite! Next year is sure to be an amazing reading year with that in mind!
I’ve read most of your top faves! The only one I’m 👀 is Starling House… it wasn’t for me 😆 but I’m so glad it worked for you! You had a great year in terms of diversity of genres, but in here for Fantasy ‘24! 🐉
Sadly, I haven't read any of the books on your list, but I will get around to reading a couple. Looking forward to reading fourth wing. In a previous video, you mentioned Assistant to the Villan which I read because of you. I am happy to say that it was my favorite book of the year. I love the completely different plot setting and the humor in it.
Awwww, this makes me so happy!!! My top 3 of the year were: 2 Rebecca Ross's (A Fire Endless & Divine Rivals), and The Wishing Game. We were so in sync with our favorites this year. The Wishing Game stole the top spot for me only because Rebecca Ross's books were both duologies... so picking the standalone just simplified it for me. But yay for Rebecca Ross & Meg Schaffer in 2024 🎉😊
The Only One Left was one of my favorites of the year too! Another one of my favorites was a contemp romance called Would You Rather. Its a marriage of convenience/friends to lovers and it was so good!
Fantastic list of books and I’ve read and loved probably 75% of them. I just started Starling house and Divine Rivals is next. Waiting until Everand has it available in a couple days so I can listen while I read along. I read so many good books this year. Fourth wing is prob my fav!
“If you didn’t like this book please never tell me” 😂 that is me with all of my favorite books! So many of these are on my Tbr 😊 my top favorites were One For My Enemy, Fourth Wing and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea
💜I so want to read The Serpents and The Wings of Night. It has been on my tbr for ages. I think I’ll pick it up once I finish The Ex Hex💫 Also, I am definitely going to read Divine Rivals this year🫶
I put so many of these on my TBR!! Thanks for the great recs!! My top favorite book was probably Fourth Wing for fantasy and A Flicker in the Dark for thrillers. And the Live & Let Chai series by Bree Baker for cozy mysteries.
Im currently reading Fourth wing and im not 150 pages in yet and its just ok, so I'm hoping it picks up soon. Im not expecting a 5 star read as I am not a fantasy reader but Im hoping for at least a 3.5-4...Love the dragons!
I’m so glad i owned all the books mentioned 😊 I loved most of the books from your list. Almost because I haven’t read yet the wishing game, the serpent & the wings of night and yours truly. I will be reading them next year. I’m currently reading Christmas guest 🕯️📚☕️ and just finished reading the wolf and the woodsman by Ava Reid.
Abby Jimenez will make a romance reader out of anyone. I do not typically read them but she sole me at baby goat and I was not disappointed. I read both books and they were both amazing.
Ahhh I’m so curious to try The Wishing Game and Divine Rivals!! I’m not sure if they’d be my thing or not but after hearing your praise for them, you make me want to try them haha 😍👏
I really think you would enjoy them! They’re not necessarily for fantasy readers but since you like romance, there’s a high chance you’d love Divine Rivals for sure! 🥰
I will definitely be reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. You are the sweetest, Liv! Have always and will always love your videos and how you use your platform to share your faith☺️
The Wishing Game is also one of my top favorite books and can't wait for her new book!!!! :D And Divine Rivals is also on my list!!! Such good books!!!! ❤ 😄📚
I have loved all of John Mark Comer’s books!! My favorite so far is Garden City! Literally an absolute favorite book of all time. I want to reread it constantly.
I can't help but feel like I'm missing something, because SO MANY people at least enjoyed "Belladonna," even if it didn't make their Top 10 list, but I had to DNF around page 100 because I was bored, and MC was annoying me. You're making me excited for "The Unmaking..." though! I was scouring my bookstores for the past two weeks trying to find it, and I FINALLY found 1 copy. Definitely reading it early in January!
I still haven't read any of the books you showed because uni won't let me (again) 🙄 But I'm so excited to read them all hopefully soon 😊 Happy new year, Liv✨ It's hopefully gonna be a good one🌟
My top favorite this year is a reread that still earns full 5 stars, one of the most enjoyable books I’ve ever read! It is Connie Willis’ ’To say nothing of the dog’. 😍✨ I’ve never listened to it before, only had the physical copy and the audiobook made it even better. I highly recommend if you want to read something fun, complex and about a timetravel trip gone way south. 😄 super hard to explain but so worth it to dive in with 🎉
John Mark Comer's books have been super inspirational & helpful in my walk with God. I just read & received an ARC of his new book (Practicing the Way) and it was AMAZING! Highly recommend. 5 Stars! My top non-fiction book of the year was Practicing the Way and my top Fiction book of the year was The Endless War by Danielle L. Jensen. I loved her Inadequate Heir/Endless War duology and am still thinking about Keris & Zarrah.
My favorite books were both Wolfsong and Ravensong by TJ Klune, Ive also started the Druid Chronicles series by Kevin Hearne and Im addicted. I liked Emily Wilde, and The Magicians Daughter a lot too. ✨
The best book I read this year was House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. I can’t wait for the sequel next year. I hoping to get to Divine Rivals in January. It sounds right up my alley.
Here's the thing: Fourth Wing is not bad. But majority of people hype it up like it was "something more" like some sort of legendary fantasy book. as someone who reads a lot of fantasy books since i was 10 (and now im on my 20s) Fourth Wing is not that bad i dont agree with people hating it sm but its just an average fantasy book. I only rated this book higher than i expected bc the dragons are so adorable.
The other day I finished The Seven Year Slip and girl, I got a book hangover from that! Yeah, some people like fiction and they can't divert from it. I love me some fiction but nothing serious. Let's have some fun, I do not need a test at the end of it.
@@livslibrary I was reading it like a Marvel movie! It reminded a little of Addie LaRue, they leave and the cycle starts again. She runs in and he's not there. So good!
💕 What was your top favorite book of the year?!
Venco was my all time favourite! 🧙♀
A tie between "Spinning Silver" and "Keeper of Enchanted Rooms".
My top book of the year was Part of Your World. Im not a big romance reader but Abby Jimnez books are so amazing.
I felt the same way about Belladonna (I loved Foxglove too!). So good! My top 3 books were Mad Honey, Divine Rivals, and Ink Blood Sister Scribe. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely the Unmaking of June Farrow, like you said, indescribably magical! ☺️😭

Yes yes yes! It’s sure to be the best reading year for us next year! I can’t wait to see what new favorites you find. 🫶🏻

It was definitely a very unusual book! 🤭 Can’t wait to see what fantasy we find in the new year!

I’m so happy you loved that one! It’s on my TBR for January!
Divine Rivals and Starling House are 2 of my favorites for the year too! ❤❤❤ Also top romance was 7 year slip!!! So many good quotes. 😊
I love Ashley Poston! 🥹
My favorite was the the very secret society of irregular witches 🥰🔮
So sad I didn’t get to that one this year!

“If you didn’t like this book please never tell me” 😂 that is me with all of my favorite books! So many of these are on my Tbr 😊 my top favorites were One For My Enemy, Fourth Wing and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea
I’ve had the girl who fell beneath the sea for ages! I need to get to it!
@@livslibrary I hope you read it soon!! It’s so magical and whimsical, I loved it so much. I haven’t seen any of my favorite TH-camrs talk about it!

My number one was "Know My Name". The author narrates the audiobook which is exceptional.
I have loved all of John Mark Comer’s books!! My favorite so far is Garden City! Literally an absolute favorite book of all time. I want to reread it constantly.

I will be adding The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry to my list. Thank you for the recommendation!

I hope 2024 is your year too, Liv! I'm so glad I discovered your channel. You are a light! 🤍

Aw that’s sad! Sometimes YA characters feel “too YA” and it’s hard to get past the immaturity. I hope you have better luck with June Farrow! ♥️

@@livslibrary I hope so too🤞
Love a favorites recap! I think my top 3 books are probably The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, The Appeal, and The Lincoln Highway
Also you need to check out Shannon Chakraborty if you’re into historical fantasy!
I literally just got the Adventures one!
Ooh, Amina was a great book. 👍
My top book this year (and in my whole life, perhaps?!) was The Rose Gate by Hanna Sandvig!

I loved How to Sell a Haunted House and The Only One Left, too! Many people around me hated both of them lol
Well, they’re wrong. 😂🤭
I can’t choose a top book! lol. But favorites were No Two Persons, Fourth Wing, Divine Rivals, and Assistant to the Villain 😊
