1:12 starts talking about the machines, comparison 2:25 the differences 3:00 usability difference - Inissia doesn't have a on/off button. Doesn't mention - the height under the faucet seems higher with the Inissia. Also, the capsule container empty process seems different. I'm curious if the parts to clean will be different, too.
As a Nespresso Coffee Specialist I can tell you that Pixie can save up up to 40% energy plus the brewing system in Pixie is different and thus makes the coffee faster.
i think the difference is in the amount of crema. I used an Inissia for the first time today and the crema was not very high nor did it last very long.
Love the Pixie. Yes I know about the price difference. Just bought a brand new Pixie at the Nespresso store in Virginia for about $132. The Inissia is about $100 so it was about a $32 difference but oh well it brews great and much better than Starbucks espressos.
quality comparison? where are they assembled? where are the parts made? any differences in power consumption (esp. stand-by given no power button on the inissia)?
I've had my Inissia for nearly a week now. It does what I want it to and without fuss. I love it. Although with the pixie you can change the sides. Maybe if people are fussed on decor that could be an advantage.
I have the Pixie for 5 years now and it is not working properly anymore. I was gonna get it fixed for 120BRL (+-40 usd) but there´s a special deal ending tonight where you can get the Inissia for 249BRL (+- 85 usd) and you get 100BRL (+- 33 usd) back in capsules, and you can pay it splited in 10x, whereas to get it fixed would be the 120BRL at once. So I´ll keep my broken old Pixie resting in the corner for a while (may get it fixed someday) and get a brand new Inissia. I think it´s worth it. Thanks for the comparision!
Did you open them to compare the mechanism & internal component quality? Maybe the motor is the same, but I would like to know more about the reliability and quality of assembly of both (vibration of part when working, noise level of both, internal part and tubing tickness & assembly)
+Catherine Turgy THAT WOULD REQUIRE TO MUCH WORK seriously though my thoughts exactly. The innards are much more important then the pretty outside. No info on vibration or noise or safety. These machines boil water in a "pressurized" tank. I would like someone to follow up with the pretty parts removed so we can see how they work. Nice post and I applaud your incite
Catherine Turgy you've probably settled this issue by now haha but the Pixie is made in Switzerland and has aluminum parts. inissia is plastic and made in China. also the Pixie has a light to indicate low water which in reviews people really appreciate... hope that still helps a year later!
Catherine Turgy so as far as quality the Pixie is better. probably longer lasting hence the higher price.... also though apparently the Pixie is louder.. overall, $100 difference for more durability... maybe worth it
What about the construction and durability? Are both metal framed construction? The handle on the Inissia looks to be plastic whereas the Pixie is metal. Are there any issues with breakage?
The pixie is metal looking plastic, same as the inissia. Both have metal handle. Only difference is price. They even make the exact same coffee of the exact same quality. No difference in espresso quality between the two machines.
preppychrisbou Pixie is made in Switzerland Pixie is higher quality Inissia made in china/hungary Inissia has plastic internals Pixie has all metal internals
I'm loving my Inissia and so happy I didn't purchase the Pixie! Even more happy to know the only major difference is the price. Thanks for the informative videos.
The pixie is mostly metal looking plastic, the sides and almost everything. The important parts in both machines are metal, like the handle and other parts for example.
All Nespresso machines give the same quality of espresso. Aside from the ones that have milk frothers you are just paying for the design / styling of the unit if you buy one of the more expensive models.
My Inissia started having problems after a couple of months (blinking won't work) and I had to keep unplugging it to make it work. Probably just bad luck 90% of the reviews on Am Italy are positive. I returned it and bought a Pixie. But the difference in Italy was only 40 euros and with the pixie I got 20 euros of capsules more. However given the same size I doubt they have a different motor or electronics. One advice: if you wan't it to be coffee shop warm preheat the cup in the microwave while you load the machine.
Warm up the cup: no need to microwave anything. Just run a shot without capsule into your cup. Empty cup. Run with capsule. This flush is also recommended to clean and heat up the water path.
NOTE to author: It has on/off INISSIA: ON: push and hold both buttons. OFF: push and hold both buttons. There IS an on/off switch I bought a like new Inissia from someone who never used it for 30$. Works like a charm. I formerly had a Nespresso U that I gave away. The real reason I bought another one is to try filling my own after market capusles (capsul'in system supposedley works well) with my own freshly ground coffee. Has anyone tried capsul'in to make their own capsules? What is the result? I am also looking at trying a Box of 100 Nespresso Carioca (brazil mid intensity) Compatible capsule by Tiziano Bonini Caffe. for about 30 bucks. Anybody tried those capsules? Machine: I like this one better because its manual. The U i had is motorized and ejects the capsule automatically. So if for some reason you wanted to send a bit more juice through the capsule after your shot, you cant with the U. Also, the U has the touch buttons, which are pretty sensitive. Its also bigger than the red one.
The important thing I discovered on the net is: "INISSIA", over time tends to deform and lose water under the machine while the "PIXIE" do not get deformed and lose water because where there is the pump/boiler connection, they have a safety valve which when the nozzle is blocked (and fails to vent when making coffee), leaks from the safety valve while INISSIA, not having the valve, puts the boiler under strain, deforming the plastic part (spout) Here is my first use video: th-cam.com/video/lkkQycV2IXo/w-d-xo.html
From the literature it seems that the pixie is suppose to be faster. "25 sec heat up time" but i don't know how this compaires with the inissia. Did you notice a difference?
according to the features listed on the nespresso website the inissia also has a 25 sec heat up time..i really dont understand how they can justify the price on the pixie compared to the inissia
who want to buy then it is absolutely inissia, my guess is because nespresso is trying to get: 1 more customer by cheap price 2 more younger (this is the point) and that is why they make inissia, as this design/shape/color, and fix this price. what do you think ?
Inissia vs Pixie: Here in Sweden they cost 50 USD vs110 USD. My Pixie, well used during five years (that is the limit of the warranty) just recently start to behave a bit odd. So I bought one Inissia as a back-up. Shame shit different name really.
Z Vaper I think that explains, in part, the price difference. There's a power button and more metal on the Pixie, which also contributes to the price difference.
I had the opportunity to get a free Nespresso while in Israel, but I wouldn't have been able to take it home and use it here in the US because of power requirements.
wow!!! thank you the review it has been really helpful... I now want to buy the Inissia the price is amazing and they both do the same thing lol tanx again.
Inissia: I flush the machine into my glass cup with an empty shot (recommended). I empty my cup which is hot after that. I then run a shot. I can tell you it is hot, steaming in fact. Hotter than with the U machine I had.

I've got both machines and I prefer Pixie, hotter coffee and better taste. U can shut it off manually as well, no need to wait 9 minutes auto off.
Does the coffee taste the same? Did you notice a difference of taste between these two machines?
i think the difference is in the amount of crema. I used an Inissia for the first time today and the crema was not very high nor did it last very long.
How about actually brewing a cup instead of repeating the same thing over and over again?
You could always buy them both and do your own comparison.

whats the difference between Nespresso Pixie by De Longhi and the Nespresso Pixie by Breville?
Love the Pixie. Yes I know about the price difference. Just bought a brand new Pixie at the Nespresso store in Virginia for about $132. The Inissia is about $100 so it was about a $32 difference but oh well it brews great and much better than Starbucks espressos.

Are there any issues with breakage?
It's not. The inissia handle is also metal. See his Inissia only review video.
I just ordered a inissia online and didn't really look that much into it I must say I'm a bit disappointed that it's plastic
You forgot one of the main differences. The pixie is made of metal and the inissia, plastic...
funny that isnt in this review. man i dislike reviews lacking major details.
The pixie is metal looking plastic, same as the inissia. Both have metal handle. Only difference is price. They even make the exact same coffee of the exact same quality. No difference in espresso quality between the two machines.

Really? Sometimes I have to wait a couple of mins before start sipping my coffee cuz of how hot it is. I own an Inissia.
Change the video speed to 2x to make this review bearable.

Very much appreciated review. Was trying decide between the two models. Surprised the Pixie is twice the cost of the Inissia. Decision made.

‘Same shit different day’ my love. You remind me of my Italian hubby saying things like ‘smashed potatoes’. Makes me chuckle. 😅
Took so long to say they look different and priced different? Fml
Wats the temperature of the pixie caffe ?

Everyone don’t forget to check out the pix-E
Damn ! I just paid over $100 extra for the look of my pixie :( only if I saw this review first I would save some money ! Ugh
Andria Kuei you paid for a Swiss machine , also paid for a machine with that low level water indicator
The Pixie is a much better quality machine, you do get what you pay for.
Pixie on Amazon is way less. Pixie is more metal where the new one is almost all plastic.
The real question is, does any Nespresso machine make an extra hot cup of espresso? Most aren't hot enough for me.
Inissia: I flush the machine into my glass cup with an empty shot (recommended). I empty my cup which is hot after that. I then run a shot. I can tell you it is hot, steaming in fact. Hotter than with the U machine I had.
Seriously, $229 for the pixie? That sounds like a rip-off.
Prices here in Europe are 100 euro for the pixie and 70 for the inissia.
They are both about $150 or less on Amazon.
Please make a video about Buttons for 5 mins 😂

2- the body for pixe steel inissia blastek
3- for pixe when the water tant finish it will plenk for inissia no
Blastek yazalameh... Ir7amni!!
Plastic not blastek you idiot -_-
the pixie is the better quality machine and therfore produces a better experience fight over pixie is the winner
Dafuq. How is it better quality? How does it produce a better experience?
Martin Soendergaard-Jensen pixie is Swiss made metal parts, insissia is China made, very plastic.
Jake Wojtowicz They are both made in China.......
Martin Soendergaard-Jensen negative. look it up.
Nope… my Pixie box says “Made in Switzerland”
Bit long mate!
only gets to differences at about half of the video... and starts with "style" difference ) which is obvious and does not need discussion.
and the main difference is omitted - make. Switzerland vs. China. Now what car will you by - a German one or made in India?
thanks !
Dude, learn how to pronounce Pixie!
+Patrick McNulty And button
Pixie quality is ligit and it have LEDs but Innisia quality is OK I just bought Pixie and I'm so happy with it.

The younger you are, the less you know i guess.
