I had a lot of fun playing this game against my brother when I was young. I played the All Stars (red team). I remember hitting Leon Tully (backup catcher) cleanup, and he'd hit HRs. When I 'd get a lead, I'd put Ollie Oliver in to pitch. My brother could not hit this guy! If Oliver had more stamina, I'd have started him and pitched him all game. It got to be a catch phrase for me late in the game: "Uh oh, you're getting too close. Time to bring in Oliver!" It's funny the things people remember.
I played ALOT of this back in the day and LOVED it, IF anyone has Played Super Mega Baseball 2 for PC?..exactly same view almost, same Vibe, Very Oddly Familiar, i guess thats why i love super Mega Baseball 2, Ironic Huh how they look the same almost 30+ years Later....HHHMMM...lol
Clever how they used hi res (320x200) instead of "multicolor" mode and still make it look like full color. That's some really impressive use of tiles. Too bad that they overdubbed the sounds for "The Princess Bride" movie. With the game sounds this good, that was completely unnecessary.
This game was featured in the Princess Bride, played by the kid before his grandfather came in.
Thanks for reminding me. Haven't seen that classic in quite a while
