In our lives, things happen, it's how we respond/react to those moments that determines who we are. MJ had a hard life growing up, but he turned it around for the good. All things work together for the good of those who love God (Rom. 8:28).

I would have loved to have been his friend. He and I share many things besides music, singing, and dancing. We share a love of giving back to others, children, faith in God, reading, writing, family, and we share a big love of Disney and Peter Pan. That story was a part of both of our childhoods. I know if you were still here, he and I would have been BFFs and soulmates for life. I was never like the crazy fans and paparazzi that followed him around, I respected his privacy from the craziness, and when he needed a friend, I would have been there for him. I would have not taken our friendship for granted and cherish every moment that we had together. I would show him that I was not like the rest of the world.
