Here is a question to look around on. When something goes wrong on those cars, how much are repairs gonna be outta warrant vs something else around that price point on say a chevy or ford?
It's more, but the parts are much better and have much higher quality. You can't compare that. Chevy and Ford, or other brands use cheap, older tech products that aren't fitted with so much high tech like Mercedes or BMW. Not comparable..
Do people eve. buy BMW and Mercedes anymore? Everyone seems to lease these cars.

Nice review. I would get a Stinger GT2 or G70 for that price and it solves all the issue this Benz has. Plus a 10 year warranty.

I am really impressed by the new CLA. If I were actually in the market for a 4 door sedan, the CLA would probably lead the pack, along with a model 3, not sure which I like more!

I’ve been leasing and buying 4 MB’s since 2012, From c350, c450, amg gla45, to amg glc43 and driven loaners for good amount of time in between such as e300, gle350 and so on. However, none of the cars I’ve driven over the years justified their prices.
Is say buy it used fresh off a lease for mid to high 20s

Roman's six foot two frame had a bit of a grunt to get out of the driver's seat, THAT and a car that tries to 'out think' me would drive me to another brand of car.
If I haven't got total comfort ( in all meaning's of the word ) then it wouldn't be a car for me,...but thankfully for M-B, we are all somewhat different, aren't we!

I just bought a new 2020 CLA 250 very similar to this, except it’s not 4MATIC and it’s in white. It has the same wheels, interior and options. Absolutely love my car! The more I drive it, the more I enjoy and appreciate it. The interior is sumptuous and feels like a more expensive luxury sedan. The MBUX infotainment is top class, even better than the AUDI in my opinion. It drives and handles like a dream, with another HP and torque to satisfy most driving enthusiasts. I agree that I wouldn’t pay $54k, I only paid $41k for mine and purchased the four year maintenance plan too. With tax and license I paid $48k. Well worth it in my opinion.

Not in yellow. This looks amazing in that bronze silver colour with normal colour multi spoke alloys.
That is one good looking sedan and a great buy at $30,000, now not so much....

Well considering this is fully optioned for a German car.... not toooo shabby. I’d say yay but don’t get a fully loaded one cause at that point you get a very well optioned c class or entry e class
What is going on in the US that Americans think German vehicles should depreciate faster or are less reliable? Like in most other countries this is not the case.
SDav21 the maintenance costs for German luxury vehicles spike after a few years of ownership here. So when trying to sell say a 3 year old car buyers factor in that maintenance cost compared to say a Lexus which sells for a lower price when new and doesn’t have maintenance that spikes after only a few years.

I would actually have some appreciation for Mercedes if the drivers of weren't such d bags. I live in Vegas, so its a matter of "if you lease a luxury vehicle here, you're automatically entitled to do whatever you want". Only in this city though....Anyway, awesome video as usual!
I'd be worried about depreciation of any of these ICE premium vehicles. I wouldn't chance it. As Merc moves to EV what happens to the value of their old vehicles in that price sector. Maybe this is the reason Tesla is out selling them in this price range.

$54k ? What about the C classes how much now ?
C350 4matic, almost fully loaded, brand new in 2012 was $45,000. My c450 in 2016 decently loaded was $61,400. For 2020 year models they can go over $70,000 and they are not even c63s.
You would have to be an idiot to buy that for $54,000. All the Merc goodness ya like some sensor going bad right after the warranty ends for $2000. Ralph is the perfect name for that thing especially in yellow.
Nice car but getting into the mid 50s is easily C Class money and the C Class is a nicer car in my opinion.

For above $50k is a definite no. No matter how nice it is, you cannot justify that level of performance for $50k+
I have the C300 4Matic and it is TOO small in the back for most people. So the CLA250 is bound to be worse. I personally would not buy or lease it. I would forget it. And that auto voice interactive system is ridiculous. Don't like the transmission control.

Once you look past the surface and the Mercedes badge, the CLA 250 is just a basic car that’s super overpriced for what it is. Aside from being the cheapest way to tell people you bought a new Benz, I can’t see anything special about it. The Genesis G70, Kia Stinger, and Toyota GR86 look and drive way better for the same amount of money.

The engine of the new cla e250 is from renault dacia. the same as the hybrid system, and that is not a positive thing, etc., but quite the opposite and also buys and pays a mercedes benz and gets a renault, at a higher price, the cla 250 gasoline engine if it is authentic Mercedes benz and it works quite well just like the more balanced and cheaper A 220 engine but well, the other 163 hp and 134 hp engines are also renault dacia and that is again negative for a premium brand like mercedes benz, its alliance with generalist brands is It's only good to make more money, but it lets your customers down who buy cheap, lower-quality engines and sell them at premium prices for that reason, I don't. For cheap fake plastic air intakes and holes that are absolutely useless, better a beautiful front fog lights and LED daytime running lights on the front skirt part, and not huge rear holes jilla and ugly plastics etc. and the same is true of new audi models and other premium brands. Very expensive and not very standard equipment, and they are also almost all the same photocopies with designers without character or personality.,, ... Mercedes benz must take care of those details and especially less parts made in China and more quality control, etc., the Cla is not made in Germany either if in Hungary, this yellow car is beautiful and very elegant, inside with a large screen and a digital instrument panel is very beautiful and looks good quality, another piece of information is not positive abusing piano black in addition to being ugly and dirty is scratched just by looking at it. This 224cv engine is very balanced but it is quite expensive and should include more standard equipment and more quality, etc.

Nope. The current c class is out dated. Best strategy is to get in one of these on a lease for 3 years and then if the c class is still affordable and equal in tech and styling to jump into a c class after. Its going to take 1.5-2 years for them to come to the states anyway after the redesign.

The CLA the GLA to me, have too many curves and the trunks are too small. Even the current C and E class vehicles can hardly fit luggage on a trip for 3 people. Car rental companies always depict them having more space! Seems like the current “ climate crisis “ is screwing the designs of vehicles. @@fayahmad9063 TFL is the one that compared the Hyundai to the CLA not me, I just stated that it wasn't that long ago nobody would have even mentioned the two in the same sentence,the MB is the premium brand but the difference is not as much as it used to be and if your not a brand snobe will likely be 90% as good as the MB at 40% cheaper

I feel like an entry level Merc or BMW or whatever would be rather anticlimactic. At first you'd be like woo! Got a Benz for the price of a Camry! Then after a month or so when you make the payments and still have to, you know, work...you're like meh this isn't so great, it has few features, and it's the same payment as and drives like a loaded Camry.
I mean a 4 pot, FWD, 6.3s 0-60 car isn't exactly exciting.
