Thank you sir for your endless contribution to the engineers and professionals. Your lectures are very helpful. If it is possible please a video for design of composite column as well.🙏
Thank you for your support and kind words! I'm glad my lectures have been helpful. I appreciate your suggestion for a video on designing composite columns. I've taken note of it and will consider creating one in the future. Stay tuned for updates. Your feedback is valuable to me. Best regards!
Hi Dr Jawed Qureshi, thank you very much for providing these for free! One question sir, how do we go about knowing when to use partial and full shear connection? Thank you!
For composite slabs used in buildings, I think full shear connection is not possible. We just have to determine the degree of shear connection that a set of shear studs provide. That degree should be more than the minimum shear connection requirements. If it is less than the minimum then we increase the number or the size of shear studs to achieve the minimum shear capacity. I hope it answers your question. I’m happy to expand more if my response is not clear.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the comment. I’m planning a full TH-cam video series on steel-concrete composite design including composite slabs. You’ll see it published tentatively around start of new year.
Yes, composite slab and beam design are different. In composite slab, the steel decking is rated by shear parameters, called m and k. I’m planning a separate video series on composite structural design that includes composite slab, composite beam with hollocore slabs and composite columns. The series will be out in about 2 months’ time.
From what I understood via google translator, you want to give me presentation about stud-bolt pins as their manufacturer. We can connect via Zoom or Teams to discuss, but I'll be able to meet by mid-September. Also, I don't understand Portuguese. Would you be able to give me presentation in English?
what if the steel deck is not able to take the construction loads? if applied moment is greater than the moment capacity (during construction stage check?) what should be my next step?
There are two options: 1) use props to increase loading capacity, there is separate load span provided by manufacturers 2) use a deeper or thicker deck.

Good lecture
Helping for composite design
Thanks and welcome
Amazing video sir. Very helpful ❤
It’s my pleasure. I’m glad you found it useful.

@@DrJQureshi Thank you for still entertaining my question sir. I have watched the video again and it helped clarify some things. God bless you sir. :)
what a knowledge in short vedio please make a vedio of composite slab as well

Hi Sir, thanks for the video. Is there a difference between composite slab and composite beam design process??

Ola, sou fabricante de pinos STUD-BOLT no Brasil como faço para passar uma apresentação para o senhor ??

Ok, we'll talk in September then.
Hi Sir, I have a question. how to get value for 120mm and also 170mm, this is for calculating the bo dimension under Shear connection.
These are bottom and top trough dimensions of the trapezoidal steel deck. These values are from the manufacturer’s load-span tables.
what if the steel deck is not able to take the construction loads? if applied moment is greater than the moment capacity (during construction stage check?) what should be my next step?
There are two options: 1) use props to increase loading capacity, there is separate load span provided by manufacturers 2) use a deeper or thicker deck.
@@DrJQureshi Thankyou sir..🙏
What about if the PNA lies within the web (Nc,slab > Npl,a)?
I think there is a formula in the lecture notes provided with the video. Please have a look. If you cannot find let me know I’ll get it for you.
I am having troubles downloading the lecture notes to find it.
