In swedish a flower is called blomma. Couldn't find where the word comes from but must be related to the word bloom, cuz like with english we say "när blommorna blomma", (when the flowers bloom [out]).
A lot of flower names are almost the same in english though a bit different in spelling and pronounciation.
Daisy = tusensköna (from the words tusen = (a) thousand, and sköna = (a) beuaty /belle, also called "skönhet") (pro. tuu-zen sch (phlegm-sound as in José, not an H sound, very common in swedish words) -uh-na)
Forget-me-not is more or less translated into Förgätmigej which is an older saying of that phrase (in modern swedish it would have been "glöm mig inte"/don't forget me).
Tulip = tulpan (pro. tull-pahn)
Orchid = orkidé (or-she-deh)
"Mother in law's tounge" is directly translated as svärmorstunga (mother-in-law is called svärmor, with svär comes from "swear" as in "swearing an oath" which you do when you take someone's son or daughter's hand in marriage, on a side note the same goes for svärfar/father-in-law, brother and sister-in-law on the other hand are called svåger and svägerska respective, on another side note svär can also mean "swear" as in cursing/saying bad/foul/dirty words, which can be joked about in our language) (pro. s-weh-r moor-s tung-ah)
Carnation = trädgårdsnejlika (garden dianthus, though the word nejlika are sometimes confused with the spice clove, which is from the clower of the Mystaceae tree)
Foxglove = fingerborgsblomma (tra. thimble flower, due to it resembles a thimble, not to be confused with thimbleweed) (pro thing-ehr bore-yeh (as a very short of broken-off yeah) -s bloo-mah)
Fuchsia = same as in english but pronounced like f-uh-shh-ee-ah
Peony = pion (pee-oon)
Dandelion = maskros (dir trans "worm rose", the worm part refers to the larva of the thrips which crawls on its petals and feed upon the pollen)
Rafflesia arnoldii is the same in swedish.
As a bonus, I can tell that in sweden we have another flower that is named after the lion and that is the snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus), called lejongap (pro lay-on gaah-p) meaning lion's maw, probably because it looks like a lion's gaping maw seen when it roars or about to bite.
Bloom, Blume, Bloem, Blomma, Blomst, Blóm are just the Germanic words for flower, coming from the same root as the Latin Flos and the Irish Blath. Bloom in modern English only refers to the blossom however rather than the whole plant. Blossom has this same root as well, being Blostma in Old English, being related to Low German Blosom, High German Blust, and Dutch Bloessem.
I believe that Plantagenet is derived from planta genista which is a subspecies of plants such as lupine and gorse. Henry II wore a sprig in his hat.

Rose in most European languages comes from the Latin Rosa, which in turn comes from the Greek Rhodon. This word was originally Brodon but lost the initial B in certain dialects, such as the Attican and Ionian ones that would shape modern Greek. Brodon most likely came from the East along with the flower where Armenian has Vard, Old Persian has Vrda, and even Semitic languages would adopt the root in Warda.

Flower comes from Latin flos, not flor. In preclassical Latin the accusative of flos was flosem, but the s softened to an r in classical Latin, giving florem. Then in late Latin / early Romance the m stopped being pronounced, so the nominative/accusative distinction (and the neuter gender) was lost, and flor was used for both. Meanwhile (well much earlier actually) the Germanic languages were pronouncing the f like a b, so we have the English word blossom.
The word comes from an old verb meaning to bulge or swell. It's also related to English words like bull, ball and belly. The Greek cognate is phallus.
