An absolute classic like the one at Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, brakeman required in the middle of the train.

Awww, My first UK coaster . After 4 months of rehab/physical therapy at Ramstein Air Base, Germany I was released and hopped a flight to Stirling Lines where I met up with three English brothers with the 22nd SAS I had proudly served with from 1/91 to 2/91. We checked out a car from the pool and drove 4 and a half hours to Dreamland so I could get that wonderful credit I loved everything about that beautiful work of art, the sound, the smell, the feel. So much history... Next year, 2023, I want to attend HoliWood Nights at Holiday World, it's a major bucket list check.

We have a similar one in Melbourne Australia, at Luna Park, from memory it's the oldest operating coaster in the southern hemisphere.

Childhood memories. Used to take the train down regularly to go to Dreamland, it used to be a lot bigger with more exhilarating rides than they have now. I recall the giant rocking galleon and the magic carpet as well as a much bigger big wheel that I believe they sold and replaced with a smaller one. Does the Scenic Railway still have a brakeman riding it to control the speed? It looks to have electromagnetic brakes between the rails now. You used to fly out of your seat at the back when it had a brakeman, it was dangerous but so much fun.
I just noticed the big wheel was smaller today, that's so disappointing (might be me tho idk)

Once was enough for me. You turn around and see how there is a guy riding it with you controlling the brakes.
I would of gone on this when I was at dreamland yesterday but the wind caused it to close. I was looking forward to this ride just for it to be closed

I went on this for the very first time in 1984, the breaks failed, I can still hear the break man yelling I cant stop it as we flew through the station, diddnt stop me going on it again lol

It's OK, but it's not same as the original Dreamland Scenic Railway, this is just a very similar looking copy (the lift pulley is about the only original part). The structure is far more rigid than the original and its substantially slower. The brake man is only really for show as it has automatic brakes. It's an OK ride, but if you want a ride that's more like the original you have to go to Great Yarmouth.
So sad to see the decline of this park , new owners and a eurofighter would do wonders here 😞😞😞
