- Combining a blend of hard rock riffs and lush, driving harmonies, Heart emerged from the Seattle music culture with one of the most original sounds of the 1970s.
Behind Ann Wilson’s powerhouse voice, one of the best in rock, and Nancy Wilson’s inspired guitar playing, guitarist Roger Fisher, bassist Steve Fossen, guitarist/keyboard player Howard Leese and drummer Michael DeRosier, Heart recorded a series of albums that stand as the best mix of hard rock and folk rock of their era: Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen, Dog And Butterfly and Bebe Le Strange.
Their hit singles remain standards of rock radio: “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” “Straight On” and “Barracuda.” Heart has released six Top 10 albums and 20 Top 40 singles. Ann and Nancy Wilson were pioneers becoming the first women to front a hard rock band. Our vocalists for this project are Jessica Mckinney, covering Ann's parts & Liz Barber covering harmonies. LLB is glad to bring to you the music of Heart for our 16th episode!

There is absolutley NO DOUBT that the beautiful girl singing lead could start or take lead in a "cover" band or "tribute" HEART band and tour the world to sold out concerts in a cover/tribute band in the lead position that Ann Wilson has in HEART. These girls (and the incredible Lexington Lab Band) absolutely NAIL all the HEART songs you have done cover songs of. All of the songs your band does are incredible, but the HEART songs are without a doubt the BEST and closest redition of ANY cover ever done of HEART! You guys should seek out some talent management and start touring. You have what it takes with the incredible precision and crispness in your playing and singing as well. That's what fans of HEART or other bands want in a cover/tribute band. As close as possible to the original songs with the instrument playing and voices which is what you seem to have here. INCREDIBLE.

Joe, I've listened to all of the LLB songs. I totally agree with your statement. All of the music is great, but the Heart covers are perfect --- and arguably better than the originals. Amazing!

Can I say that the lead singer here if you close your eyes you think it’s Ann Wilson singing!!! She’s that good, cuz I consider Ann Wilson to be among the top 3 female rock singers
@@10scoach33 Yes she does. And yes, Ann Wilson is one of the best singers of the modern age with her crisp clear voice, even after all these years. In the 70's, my Dad brought home the Dream Boat Annie album as he was an audiophile and had a nice stereo set up back then. We listened to that album all the time and from then on were big HEART fans!

This whole set of Heart songs has been absolutely magnificent. Jessica McKinney absolutely nails Ann Wilson's voice. If I wasn't watching, I'd swear it was Ann. As usual, you duplicate the tones virtually perfectly.
How long does it take you guys to work out a song? I know this can't be an easy thing to do but have no idea how to guess. The perpetual student in me would like to know!

Oh yeah. Even more than you're accuracy and phenomenal sound, I'm really stoked that you guys obviously thought Heart was worth such care and study. Jessica is an amazing vocalist. She really channels Ann's voice. Not an easy task considering Wilson is the standard all female rock singers are judged by. Music perfect too.

When Liz Barber joins McKinney the effect is WOW!! McKinney nails the Ann Wilson part, and the Band itself never sounded more like the original - Crazy Good. But, again, the effect when Barber joins in is better than the original song. This video never fails to send goosebumps down my spine even after repeated viewings.
