My whole family still cries every time we watch this movie. Definitely inspiring! Kirk, if you're out there, please, please read John Revere's "Rescued" and make a movie out of it! You would be fabulous as the son! That would honestly be a movie that could majorly impact this world! That book changed my life!

my husband and i saw this movie about two weeks before we got married...it was such a great film...we decided that if our marraige was going to be strong, then God had to be at the head of it. We've been very happily married for almost a year now and we are stronger every day

" I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 14,34-35 How did he love us? He laid do his life for us. That is how we must love each other, or we do not love enough.

have you had a cleansing? surely not, good thing he's teaching kids that those parents want taught. the truth and faith in a maker and not a fluke from nowhere being a nobody.
science supports Biblical events and you are succumb to these in many ways today.
kirks an awesome guy. wishing failure is so demeaning.

This movie was shown to the confirmation class at St. Brendan's. When I took Confirmation Class, i was shown "Romeo and Juliet" which was a much more well made movie. In "Fireproof" , neither of the characters were role models for husband and wife at all. The fact that Kirk won't do a kissing scene with another woman may give him the respectabliity of a saint. Yet that does change the fact that many our confirmation class watched the kissing scenes in movies like the other one mentioned. It would be better to read the Bible than watch made for TV movies like this. Richard Gere was arrested for doing a kissing scene in India. Like Kirk, he stood up for what he believed in. The movie was OK but not the best use of my time. I am sure that there are many other movies out there that are more worth watching that contain a very decent moral than something like this.

"Major hollywood productions"? Really? Are we talking about the same guy? Loony Ray Comfort's sidekick? Wow, he's really going places, that Kirk. He's moved up to after school specials after only 40 years in the business.

I think he reveals Himself in many other things and people around you and he knoks the door of your heart. You just have to let him in, open the door. A person that doesn't know God in its live maybe is influenced by Him in many ways: people, personal experiences...... infinite ways... SO THAT this person FEELS that he needs to open the door of the heart and ask God to come in -> asking means THE WILL of that person to change live.
Remember that "He loved us first".
    Have a nice day :)

you can chose no audience or share your precious moment with others but it's between you and God that it matters most.

This movie is about saving and reinforcing one's marriage-"Fireproofing" it. Yet it is so ironic that Erin Bethea(who played Catherine Holt) and her real-life husband Bill Shafer are now divorced. What do the producers of Fireproof think of that?

Another think you mention is Edison or Einstein... and your argument is that thus there is some non religious people could be good, then morals could be without god or faith. Well, please consider that Einstein was not atheist, in his autobiographi he high valued Jesus Christ and he confessed that he acknoledge God. Also he rebuked and made fun of astrology but defend bible in private discussions. Also, he was from Jewish family and so values already is imparted when he was young.

@ndyt, You know, everyone has a right to their own opinion, but you shouldn't behave like this. There's no proof either way of an existence after one's life on the earth ends. That doesn't necessarily prove you right. Just because you don't believe God speaks to others, doesn't make you correct. On your page, you said that the bible doesn't hold a candle to creation. That's not a problem. God made people and the bible. Also, your last line on this comment, not only is it a claim,

  • @lovestosing5
    @lovestosing5 14 ปีที่แล้ว

@ndyt but it contradicts what you said in your profile. This is simply people who believe in God and do what they think they should. So, apparently, you do have a problem with God-believers.

OriginalChanelle, there may be a creator, but you have zero evidence that the creator is your personal god. When I compare the bible to the wonders of the universe they do not compare they cannot come from the same maker.
What is your reason? If you are a believer then your reason is to worship and serve your god as a slave, period. I am free to chose my own purpose which is to be a contributing member of society.
How do we know that Christians are delusional?

Sad...if they'd have used a bit of subtlety and addressed more of the wife's shortcomings, rather than unwittingly justifying her potentially adulterous behavior because of her husband's selfishness, this COULD have been a decent movie. Oh well...now it's just a "love it or hate it" movie.
