| Yuji Nishida is UNSTOPPABLE even in Italian Superlega. Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia and their new player Yuji Nishida, are making great results at the start of the season. This amazing 21-year-old Monster of the Vertical Jump seems to get used to playing in Italy very quickly, so they show better results in the Pallavolo Serie A1 2021. He shone in the match against Trentino and showed that the future of volleyball.
Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese male volleyball player. Currently, he plays for Volley Callipo in Italian Volleyball League.
Nishida made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6 as well as Japan men's national volleyball team. Nishida is also representing Japan in the Tokyo Olympics.
He is one of the youngest players in the 2018 roster of the Japan men's national volleyball team and FIVB cup Final. He made his first international performance with the Japanese national team in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League. In June 2018, he played a pivotal role in securing Japan's first win in 11 years against Italy where he collected 24 points from 21 spikes and 3 aces.In September 2018, in a match against Argentina in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, Nishida became the youngest player ever to score 30 points in a match. In June 2019, Nishida broke serving records in the VNL history after hitting 7 aces in a single game during a match against Bulgaria.
On June 21, Japan Volleyball Asssociation announced Japanese team roster for 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nishida had a name as one of the opposite hitters. and was a starting lineup in every match. Nishida was the best scorer in the match that Japan beat Canada 3-1 set count, made 23 points.[43] In the match against Iran, Japanese team needed to win for advance to the quarterfinals round, Nishida made 30 point, made him to be the best scorer of the match and led the team to the next round after 29 years. Moreover, he became the first player of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to break the 30-point scoring mark in the men event and was the tenth player, and first Japanese, since the introduction of the rally scoring system.
On August 9, Nishida had official announcement that he would transfer to play in Italian Volleyball League for Volley Callipo club in the 2021-22 season.

When he said that he has improved and was able to reflect and think calmly after Olympics, man, he didn't lied. He isn't just brute forcing his spikes anymore. His instinct just got sharper each progressing games. And his digs just got better. And he's been playing like he wasn't anyone new in Italy. PURE CRAZINESSSSSS.
I love that the whole team supports him mentally ☺️ It's propably not easy to play in new place.
It is incredible how quickly he has been able to adapt to a foreign league. Yuji Nishida, along with Rok Mozic, have started off on the right foot, and I hope they continue to improve.

In my view, it is expected that Yuji will do well in the foreign league! But my impression is that he is performing beyond expectations at the moment. I am glad that he adapted quickly to the new teams - his opposite teams are much much taller than the Japanese league. He is being effective against these monster blocks in the Italian league!

Considering his size he s really good ,he ranks only nr 267 worldwide ,he probably deserves to enter the top 100.
we ll see at the end of the Italian league.It won t be easy because the Serie a is really tought and it seems quite unlikely that Tonno Callipo is going to win anythink.That would be a nice surprise. Like in the russian league the blockers are very strong.But tonno callipo has other strong players this year.only time will say .
Douglas Mauricio seems to be very good too.But they are facing excellent teams.Actually the italian ,and russian,league have a very high level, way better than the vln or the olympics . Like the champion league of football, way better than the world cup.

Sou super fã do Nishida e do volei japonês, mas reparei que apesar do marketing pesado em cima dele, os maiores pontuadores do vibo ainda são os brasileiros, em uma partida, por exemplo, o japonês fez 12 pontos, o Douglas fez 20 e o Borges ficou como segundo maior pontuador do time(não me lembro da pontuação dele). Apesar disso, ele foi o maior pontuador quando o Vibo perdeu para o Trentino.
