Gibson J40 Bridge lifted | 琴橋開膠 【吉他修理人 | GuitarRepairmanTW 】

這是把有點年份的Gibson。
Paul說他的爸爸曾在1977年送回原廠做保固，修復琴橋開膠的問題，而當時才買沒幾年，之後過了約莫三五年又開了，原廠認為保固已失效，於是就近找了樂器店處理。
數十年來也經歷過面板破裂，護板收縮，琴頸重置等大大小小的維修，直到近年Paul繼承了這把琴後，唯獨琴橋他又開膠了，於是來台生活後的這些年一直收藏在琴盒裡，就連聲音也一併塵封了。
其實我們經常遇到反覆修了又開膠的狀況，原因不外乎是漆沒除乾淨。
還有一種比較棘手的是退膠溫度設置不當導致面板被剷壞，失去了部份纖維形成空腔，琴橋邊緣一圈接觸到漆的範圍不但木工膠黏不住，中間應該與面板裸木接觸的部位又形同懸空，自然是黏不緊了。若接手的維修師沒有處理好殘漆與空腔的問題就會反覆開膠。
多年前幫客語歌手葉鈺渟處理的Taylor也是反覆開膠了3次，經我們細致的修復後5年多了仍然穩定服疫中！

This is a somewhat aged Gibson. Paul mentioned that his father sent it back to the factory in 1977 under warranty to fix a detached bridge, only a few years after it was purchased. However, about three to five years later, the bridge came unglued again. The factory then considered the warranty void, so they took it to a nearby music store for repairs.
Over the decades, the guitar has undergone various repairs, including fixing a cracked top, pickguard shrinkage, and a neck reset. Recently, after Paul inherited the guitar, the bridge came unglued again. Since moving to Taiwan, Paul has kept the guitar stored in its case, with its sound sealed away as well.
We often encounter situations where repairs don't hold and the bridge detaches again. This is usually because the old lacquer wasn't properly removed. Another tricky issue is when improper glue removal damages the top, removing some fibers and creating voids. This prevents the wood glue from adhering properly, especially around the edges where the bridge contacts the lacquer, and leaves parts that should contact the bare wood suspended in the air. If the repair technician doesn't address the leftover lacquer and the voids, the bridge will keep coming unglued.
Years ago, we handled a Taylor for Hakka singer Ye Yu-Ting that had the bridge come unglued three times. After our meticulous repair, it has remained stable for over five years!
