- I had ideas of doing this even before I got the UMX Radian, now it finally happened.
Please mind I mounted the wing 3D printed piece wrong, I will fix that and upload a new video.

Very cool way to make a Fly at night👍👍
Thanks! With winter coming sometimes I can only fly when it's dark already.
@@A.M.-RC thats true
Intriget work creative lighting 🙏✝️☮️
Thanks buddy 🙏
That's a very clever and creative way of adding LEDs to such a tiny model, Alex. Well done!
Thanks Gina! With winter coming and shorter daylight it will be useful.
New subscriber.
This is what I love about this hobby. Making mods, customizing, etc.
I wish I could make 3D stuff for my planes. Well done!
Thanks for subscribing! Yup, I love tinkering my planes, and adding lights doubles the flying opportunities 😄
3D printing again is awesome, from small parts to whole planes you can do almost anything.
Sounds like me minus the 3D part haha.
Yeah, you can do so much in this hobby, but just dont think about the money you are spending:D Im buying so much stuff for my projects haha. @@A.M.-RC
@@Wings_of_foam Tell me about it, I have tons of servos, led strips, screws, motors, never know what I'll use them for.
And with 3d printing it's not that expensive to start and fairly easy to start printing, designing parts is a bit harder but I can do basic stuff.
Impressive night flight with a great job on the lighting installation. Congratulations friend, you always surprise with your videos.😃💯👌
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
WoW 😮❤😮
Is a night Show!!! Very cool "mod" my Friend ❤
Thank you friend!
You are Welcome my Friend 🐼👍🏻 Have a nice Day
did the heat cause the magnets to lose their charge?
No, I installed the wing part wrong. Just got my printer running again, I will print another piece and switch it.
Awesome project, Alex. I like it a lot! Wondering if the added weight affects the flight characteristics of your little Radian much, or significantly shortens your flight time?
Thanks! Flight time shouldn't be affected, I connected a charged 200mah and left it powered on, connected to the tx, it took 45 minutes to drop from 4.2 to 3.8 volts.
Weight increase is 10 grams, I did a test flight but it was windy, it seemed to fly well.
@@A.M.-RC Really awesome. ENJOY! Thanks for posting, and enjoy flying your little Radian. Have a good weekend, and hope you have good weather.
@@rlbutterfield thank you friend, thanks for watching!
Cool Mod video Alex. It wasn't too long.
Thanks, I try to keep them as short and informative as possible.
Looks like the wing mags are upside down, soldered wrong side.
If you aim lights in general towards the wing instead of towards the ground it will be much brighter. Aim lights towards the body of unpainted foam, use the body and wing foam to capture the light and it will glow. Its opposite when you think about it, with a bare foam plane. instal the lights to make the foam glow dont aim lights down aim them into the foam, or bury them in the foam so the foam glows. You can use a hot rod to make a trough for the lights to sit in, like you would for a carbon rod.
You are correct with the piece on the wing, I corrected it afterwards, I tried to keep the orientation of the original part but it goes the opposite side.
With the lights facing the foam you are correct again and I've done that to my other planes (Timber X, Twin Otter, Conscendo) but this one the foam is very thin and the lights just show up as little dots instead of making the foam around glow.
As far as getting them to fit I found that just pressing them into the foam works fine.
You do know the number one enemy of magnets is heat, right?
I do, but I did it quickly and they survived. Had spares also just in case.
