  • I am so thrilled to share with you the full 2021 Front Garden and Front Porch Transformation. This is the first year in our home so this year was really about establishing our garden beds with some of our favorite perennial plantings and definitely plenty of annual bloomers to make sure the garden looks lush even though it's just the beginning of our time here at our new (old) house. Our home was built in 1909 and features so many original and long-established plantings, that we felt it was best to clear out what was super common and replace and make garden beds that will really frame the house in a classic and lovely way.
Improving the curb appeal of a home simply frames the personality of the owner and also tells the story of the home and it doesn't have to be perfect and it also doesn't have to be expensive to achieve something beautiful. Even if a person doesn't know how to garden, the garden sometimes will create itself and tell you what it really likes and doesn't.
Hopefully, there is something here of value for you dear watcher, it was very much a process, but I love all of the possibilities we have created and can't wait to add more next spring... otherwise, it's pretty much just garden maintenance for the rest of the season. Have a great day and thank you for watching!

Thank you for the inspiration! Just loved how you used the vines for your climbing plants. Your porch is inviting and comfortable without spending lots of money. Looking forward to more inspiration.

Oh, I love your videos. Gardening was a favorite pass time until covid put me in a wheelchair.
I moved into an apartment and just this year discovered grow-bags. I'm fixing to plant some winter greens.
Thanks again for making me happy.❤

Well done!! I left the city a few years ago I miss my front porch and how cozy I made it. Enjoy, possibility think of more native plants from your area, the native bees, insects, and birds will love you.

Totally, next year we are hopefully going to create a wild flower garden on our hillside! We have plenty of hummingbirds this year which is very pleasant. Thanks for watching!

Love the stone boarders, you're lucky they're available in your area, free. I'm in Florida, ones in my area have to be purchased, expensive, sold by weight.

Looks great! Whoever invented concrete scalloped edging needs to be fined. 😃 The grape vine frame really makes the space have a sense of place. The william morris like curtains just add the final touch. Subscribed!

Here's an idea. I too, hate those ugly scalloped edging stones. Since money was getting tighter on the project I budgeted for, I turned the scalloped stones upside down into the soil. It was a bit of a challenge to get each one level next to the other one but once that was achieved they were solid. After a couple months and the stones had some time to settle, those ugly scalloped stones were in the ground like poured concrete. The scalloped edging grabs hold of the soil making it hard for the stones to shift. Just an idea. 😊

TH-cam is far more fun and gives the creators a lot of freedom in terms of timelines and what projects. Some of them are making more money than hgtv hosts. Honestly, would love to share more broadly, but this platform is honestly the best! Thanks for watching!

When the trumpet vine starts to seed (in pods) cut them and toss. It can become a pesky invasive pain.
