G-Rap, what can I say? Other than I have him over Kane easy. Not taking nothing away from Kane but we going to be real today. I’ve sat back long enough hearing some people not giving G rap his propers on these lists. We’re getting it right today. I’m 48 and G rap, Kane and Rakim a year older than me. My point is in 86 when G came out with Rhyme time, his lyrics were flawless. He grabbed my attention the same way LL Cool J did in 84 with big words. Nobody was rhyming like that. Let me get back to my point between Kane and G Rap, on Kane first two albums he had like 5 good joints on each of those two albums to me. After those first two albums he was Finished, through, done. Why? because he wanted to be a damn chocolate Dracula lol. That’s what ultimately did him in. I know that whole back story about him changing up was because Bobby Brown and all them were touring heavy together back then. Anyway G Rap kept pushing and turning out album after album. G Rap catalogs are extensive and fire period. Kane and Rakim still in my top three though. G rap that dude is what I’m saying. No disrespect to anyone else for their opinion. I’m just very passionate about my era of Hip Hop 80s and 90s that’s it

Road to the riches is one of the best Hiphop songs ever made. I heard some of those beats straight out of Large Professor's SP1200. Notably " Money in the bank " Love those 1st two albums.
It says a lot when Jay Z says he reminds you of G Rap in his prime not one rapper in history have challenged or yet one bad word about him. He's the reason why I rap and produce then when I heard my fav 2 raps kool g rap and king Tee I said fucc it im not rapping any more as long as they are still alive... definitely the greatest

G rap, Pun and Big L are my favorites of all time.
IRIA don't forget about Lord Finesse and the ditc crew
3 tru LYRICISTS✊✊
Same.
@@Baldheadslick53 Big L is DITC, Lord Finesse discovered him.
Firs time Pun met G Rap, Pun just got on his knees (which is impressive for a 400 pound man) and kissed G Rap's ring before even saying a word. That's respect.
Without question kool g rap can't be left out for the goat's of lyricism. Rakim. Kane, krsone, kool g rap. Are untouchable. Ll cool j . The untouchables.
I was a kool g fan when he dropped It's A Demo (psychopath on the phonograph, nut on the cut, did you hear the boy slice, is he nice or what???), then the b-side I'm Fly, the caddy seville opener!
Good stuff JayQuan as always...
DjDedan That line was so incredible, DJ’s use it in DMC DJ Battles.
That’s the exact song and line that got me hooked
I love all these types of doc s u done. Miss having them on utube. But I don't mind watching em over and over again
Roots of evil is my favorite G rap album, he is amazing. Started in the mid 80's and is still making good shit
MY FAVORITE ALBUM IF ALL TIME💯💯💯💯
Genuinely the most underrated album ever, I have it easily top 3 all time rap albums
His best LP was Live and Let Die which was produced by Ice Cube's cousin Sir Jinx in my opinion.
Kool G Rap is still my favorite til this day. I listen to all his new stuff. Check out animal rap with jedi mind tricks. Riches, royalty, respect from 2011 is hard body. Return of the Don and his latest album son of g rap is ill also
Kool g rap is the father/pioneer of NAS style....and one of his major influences & mentor 💯
STRAIGHT UP FACTS 👊
Roots of Evil album is hands down one of the greatest albums in HIP Hop history💯💯💯FACTS 4 REAL!!!
In Chicago we had Commonwealth Edison as our power company. Great G Rap breakdown.
In NYC it's con ed = con Edison.
One of the reasons I still rhyme. He told me to never stop. Sensei!!
KGR and BDK are the reasons we have a Nas, Jay, Raekwon, Jadakiss, and Eminem. They the blueprint .
Road to the riches is one of the best Hiphop songs ever made.
I heard some of those beats straight out of Large Professor's
SP1200.
Notably
" Money in the bank "
Love those 1st two albums.
Kool G Rap got me into Hip Hop in -91. Im from scandinavia.
Most under rated
Thank you for the edification, sir. Appreciate your time and effort. G Rap definitely doesn't get brought up enough. Multi-syllabic pioneer.
Everyone skip over him. My fave forever with stories and lyrical gymnastics
Great documentary!!! I still listen to G Rap to this day... crazy how he did all this with a lisp in his younger days
G Rap is the foundation of real lyrical talent and flow all true Hip Hop heads know and respect this man 💯💯💯💯💯
With me this did it..."two major playas getting paper by the layers and those that betray us on the block get rock like Amadeus" Fast Life
His whole verse had me open on that song, made even Nas (who is dope in his own right) seem like an afterthought, lol
It says a lot when Jay Z says he reminds you of G Rap in his prime not one rapper in history have challenged or yet one bad word about him. He's the reason why I rap and produce then when I heard my fav 2 raps kool g rap and king Tee I said fucc it im not rapping any more as long as they are still alive... definitely the greatest
great respect paid to the GOAT. very well done brother...salute
Thanks for looking
Thank You for this vid. Ive been arguing for many yrs about G. When i was 12 i had road to the riches. Then juice crew did a photo op in Queensbridge park and i finally got to meet him. Told him wanted dead or alive was the best LP ever. He was gracious and a humble dude!! To this day i still argue and i still play any g rap verses esp when he guess appears ( conway and G rap)
Can't forget The streets of New York.. Dam that man was dope
Good work keep on schooling the masses Brother Man
Love this video we don’t hear his name enough G.RAP
Kool G Rap influence me with the same style not exactly like his style course not can imitate that but I actually discovered G Rap through Big Pun once I heard that I was like damn I was immediately hooked and funny that he influence Eminem as well who I both looked up to also Peace and love to KGR and Corona Queens
