I work in baa atoll. The best time is august, september and october. The season runs from may until november

Wow, that's amazing! Did you go diving? I thought it had been banned for several years and that you were only allowed to snorkel there. I've been diving in the Maldives a lot. One day I definitely have to go there too. Thank you for the great video!
Indeed diving has been banned since 2009. This is a snorkeling trip ^^

How common are these large numbers of Manta? We are coming soon from New Zealand for the last week of August and first week of September and would be so sad not to see any manta!
I should add that we are specifically coming to see manta and whale sharks, not really resort people!
@@leeforeman3643 Well you are going at the right time atleast. Whalesharks can be rare but last season we had 2-3 per month. Mantas can be 1 or even 0 at 1 day and the next can be 100+. The guides know what time they feed but are still wild animals. But I have seen big numbers often in those months :)
