I have two Empress para EQs, a v1 without the boost switch and a later model with the boost. They're literally the only pedal that hasn't been rotated off of my boards in the last decade. It's a shame that they've stopped producing them.
I just stumbled upon this video and I’m glad that I did. I have the EVH 5150 Overdrive and just recently tried it out at a gig, and I could not get it to cut through the band mix. Thankfully I kept my MXR Super Badass Distortion on the board and it got me through the gig. I see that you are using a parametric eq here. Would a Boss GE7 get the same results? I have one those.
