The HD quality in your reviews are top notch. It really showed the controversy of the colors well. It does stand out, but not enough to not want to get this statue. If I had the space I would definitely get it. Can’t wait to see this guy in your X-Men display.

Yeah, people don't realize that being Egyptian, Apocalypse would have used indigo in his armor for blue, so that makes sense. As you mentioned indigo can appear more blue or more violet, depending on various factors, including the concentration of the paint. Another reviewer displayed the statue utside and it looked very blue, not purplish. I like the purplish tint, which means I should get the colored Archangel to make that blue pop. The coloring also depends on the concentration of the paint when mixed. I should add, I dyed my hair purple last year, and half of it turned blue instead of purple, so that BIV range is a little unpredictable sometimes.
I missed that the prototype was a different blue. Even better to know, that prototype looked a little too bland. There was a photo with it next to the black Archangel, and you could barely see the blue. This was definitely a better artistic choice. People complaining now would be complaining years later when the color fades and loses it's pop. No artist wants to put that into the world.

Love this statue. I wonder if you shot a blue colored light on it vs a daylight color light if that would help out with the indigo (kinda like how the prototype was shot). Congrats on the pick up!
I pre-ordered, thanks to you and another guy. I might use your video to put it together when I get it. I think I made the right choice cancelling my Arkham Batman for this. The Arkham Batman lacked an emotional response for me, while I feel very excited for this piece.

This is a fantastic piece - I actually love the base and I don’t always love xm marvel bases. Color scheme isn’t a deal breaker for me; it makes the whole piece pop a bit more. I love the portraits. Wouldn't you think Apocalypse, and Superboy Prime, among others, would find those exposed long connecting cables a weak spot? Cables apparently able to be cut and sliced, damaged in some way, need a redesign.

Your statue video reviews are the gold standard,I know there maybe much more and older and experienced statue youtubers,but the quality and presentation of yours is second to none.This is what xm is for,a premium 1/4 statue with choke full of details,I don't care much for the color controversy,my one gripe is only with the pose,it looks stupid from certain angles and almost all licensed apocalypse statues have this pose,could have had a better pose.

It looks like he might be wobbling back and forth? I had a similar issue with Thanos, and XM had to send me a replacement. It usually wouldn't bother me, but on a $2,000, 60 lb statue, it made me extremely uncomfortable.
Glad you like it. It does give it a “flashy” look and the color definitely pops. For me, the blue on grey has enough contrast, And I prefer something a little more subdued. But still happy to have this in my collection.

I honestly don't think the indigo looks THAT bad. It seems like an accent color to me, and don't these kinds of things usually have some artists' interpretation to them? Personally, I wouldn't have picked indigo; rather, I would've foregone an accent color and just painted them blue or silver, but thats just me.
It doesn't look terrible. Like so many things in the art world, it comes down to personal preference and tastes. For me, I would have preferred maybe a shade or two off of the lighter blue just to keep the accent a bit more subdued.
It's not a crime at all. However, many collectors prefer to have certain details carry over from the source material. Color is one of those things that is easily recognizable and one of the easier things to match. Like you said, it's a cool piece regardless.

I wish for more lips realistic color ....same gama,but not so bright. The second thing....I know, I know ! Those cables are part of Apokalypse, BUT for me personally it's hilarious and it doesn't work with the statue. Alien technologies and....cables ?! C'mon, even we,the humans barely using cables nowadays even without alien technologies. Also esthetically I think, that without those cables that statue will look a lot better in every way. RGB refers to the color of light that when mixed together form different colors of light. ROY G BIV is something they teach us in grade school to memorize the order of the colors of the spectrum. It comes in handy when coloring a rainbow. 😁

Yep, this guy is very large and the boxes are even larger! I would definitely consider sea shipping for this one!

I am sorry DT, I never look the color spectrum when I was going to school, they had us doing math and science.
I think they spent a day on it in 4th grade. I used to correct all my family for putting the colors of the rainbow in the wrong order.

I've been a professional graphic designer for 16 years and thought RGB stood for color names. Never heard of Roy Biv 😆
