Thanks. I have heard that my Bible college is switching from Jeremy Duff’s Elements of NT Greek to this book next year. I feel ambivalent about this as Duff makes you memorise a lot and has 700 words for vocabulary. If I suffered, others should too :)
The decision may reflect a desire enable students to depend more on tools than to actually learn the language. I think there is no comparison between knowing how to do word studies in Logos and how to actually read the text. The latter is by far superior. Thanks for your comments!
I loved this book - I even contacted Danny to give my thanks. Even though I am doing further Greek, this book really helped "get my brain in gear" for studying Greek. In fact, I did this book a year before I started Greek, which has allowed me to get in super deep in my Greek study now, rather than constantly playing catch-up and scrambling to understand concepts. I can highly recommend using this book in the sense the author has purposed.
The book is available in Logos Bible Software and Danny Zacarías has a set of videos on Udemy I think I paid 10USD for the full course! He is selling them on Logos for much more.
I want to read Greek fluently, but I don't have the full resources, so this grammar has been a handy tool. I don't get enough time to do it as much as I like, but it has been light enough to get me further than others. I didn't realise what its intent was, but knowing that it still seems a good tool for me to kickstart further and deeper study once I have those first semester basics and some knowledge of Logos (even though I prefer Accordance :D but only a little, they are both great programmes). Thanks for the review, as always it's very informative and useful.
Thanks Stuart. Yes, I think this is a good grammar to get a taste or overview before taking the plunge to learn more. Thanks for your comment, it's really helpful!
Thank you! I bought this book because I bought the companion course on Udemy. I thought it was a first step to learning to read, and that the tools (Logos) were meant to support that. Now I'm wondering if I wasted my money. But I really appreciate this review.
Dr. Burling, did you ever review "Read Greek in 30 Days or Less New Testament..." by W. Larry Richards? The 1st edition is over $800 on Amazon, but the 2nd edition with this title ("New Testament") is about $200 on Amazon. The good news is that's available for only $20.99 on Logos Bible Software. I am curious what your thoughts are about this book. Did you ever review it? Thanks in advance.
Might be worth comparing this with Mounce’s Greek for the rest of us which has similar aims. I imagine Zacharias is a bit more up to date on the tech front - always the the most dated aspect of this kind of book - but it would be interesting to hear your perceptions of the differences in approach - I think Mounce is not quite so dense, and the quality of the supporting materials - Mounce’s videos are excellent. I think the ability then to step up to Mounce’s proper grammar should one wish to progress would be an advantage.
Great idea! Thanks Judith! This volume also has a lot of supporting help including TH-cam videos and pointers to online resources. I’ll add Greek for the rest of us to the list!
I have the book and I agree that the information is a bit dense but I like the Logos Integration. I want to have enough Greek to know what I am studying to give to my congregation.
I haven't reviewed Greek For the Rest of Us, but I'll add it to the list and do a comparison when I do it. At a glance, it looks like this is designed to take you further than Greek for the Rest of Us is designed to do.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I think this is a great way to use this grammar!

Well worth it!
That's how I got a hold of his lessons - one of Udemy's many sales. I also picked up the book during a Logos sale too.
Cool video about the book! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!

Would you consider a review of "The First Year of Greek" by James Turney Allen?
Could you do a review on David Alan Black's "Learn to read New Testament Greek"?
Thanks for the review on Biblical Greek Made Simple.
Sure can! Thanks for the suggestion. I have it on my list - though it is a few months away at this stage. Stay tuned!
@@bma Thanks

As a first step I think is great, and there are many benefits I didn’t mention. Go through it twice and let me know how you go.
Michael Bast. You may be interested in BiblicalTraining.org where there is a free video course for learning Greek.
Thanks! Biblical training has some great material. Learning Greek is hard alone, even with free materials!
@@bma Thank you both!
Thank you! May I ask you what you think about another book published Lexham Press, namely "AN INTRODUCTION TO BIBLICAL GREEK"?
Great question! I’m waiting for a copy so I can review it. I’ll review it in the coming weeks! Stay tuned!

Not yet. It is on the list though.

Great goal!
You mentioned that this grammar is perfect to use with the Logos software. Is there a similar grammar linked with Accordance software?
Great question. I am not aware of one but that might be a good thing for Accordance to think about.
Can you use this Grammar Text without the Bible Software? or is it designed to be used with Logos? Thanks.
Yes you can. Thanks for watching!
How does this book compared to Greek for the rest of us?

Is it good for a newbie that isn’t smart
