Same as Dorking. Which I had the pleasure of going in a few times as a kid in the late 70s 😊😊😊

47583. Look at that pollution. I first saw that at Colchester. We had gone to Butlin's Clacton for a holiday and I caught the train back to Colchester for one day of Anoraking. Odd seeing the 47/7's at Waterloo as I had to go up to jock-land to see them. I used to go out of Waterloo East to get to Hither Green, an easy depot to bunk! A good video me old son!

47 583 was an ex Stratford one, so would have worked through Colchester many times.....

London Waterloo is still the best terminus station with South Western Railway mostly operating long distance commuter and suburban services. And was once home to Eurostar before it was moved to St. Pancras in 2007.

Looking for 47s I have on my layout, and only saw one, 47712! Mind you, in 1989 in Scotland, I had 47717 for haulage from Linlithgow to Haymarket, and 47707 for shoveage, from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street!

Blacked out driver ends?... a couple of 2 car units that fell in love and couldn't bare to be split up.. ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂

Basically.... yes! Two 2 car units permanently coupled together.... The EPBs were being withdrawn around this time and it was a way of making up 4 car units to fit the Unit Diagrams....

Aka 4-CAP units. Been around for years like that.

4-CAP’s formed in 1982 by combining two 2-HAP’s together

😅i assume the 47's were on Waterloo to Exeter workings. Back in the day Warships were rostered and then 33',s., until 50's were deployed

Any idea why all the trains at Waterloo East were running headcode _1? Was there diversions or closures or something?

Probably Charing X - Cannon St. shuttles, due to Market Borough - Metropolitan Jnc's being closed for engineering works. Mainline services would run London Br. - Cannon St. stations.
