    I've been playing this for a week - my retailer let me take the demo out until the inventory comes in, then they'll give me a fresh one. I had an issue with the G400 LST where it was a touch fade biased. THIS IS NOT. Very Neutral. But you can change it to draw or fade biased using the sleeve or 16g weight module. I LOVE it. It's sooo straight - just like Michael's video here. It's got a slightly different sound than the G410 PLUS model. It's a solid (positive :) ) crack but not quite as loud. It's similar but definitely the sound of a slightly smaller head. Great video again, Michael Newton.

      That's a negative in my opinion if they truly have made this club naturally more Draw biassed than the previous LST - but likely true given the new 'flat' setting on the shaft sleeve. The reason you are seeing many of the Tour guys actually use higher lofted heads, is so that they can further open delofting it - thus attempting to offsetting the more upright lie angle that is being built into these new heads. It is no wonder that all the Tour Vans have 2 or 3 custom heads that most of the tour guys use because nearly all these drivers are now almost unplayable. I'm at the point where the M5 with weight in toe and opened for loft, TS3 with weight in toe playing B1 Flat or the Cobra F9 10.5 Head playing fully open to 9 are the only clubs that are naturally neutral - I haven't tried the new Sub Zero but that club was truly slightly fade biassed.

    Would be interested in your comparison. I had tried a G30 LST and just didn't like the sound over my G30. And it would punish me on bad strikes, but that is me. I would have found settings that worked for me if I likes that. Then I fell in love with my 2016 M2.

    When you do the comparison use identical shaft & length. Some reviewers are using different shafts & lengths when they compare. If the shaft is .5-1.0 in. longer it is more likely to have more carry distance.

      @@MichaelNewtonGolf Question Mike: I have a G-400 with ping 65 tour shaft 45.in., I have a M-1 440 with Fujikura Evol. 1 at 44.75 in., that is my preferred length. Performs well, my G-400 strikes are not as consistent. Did your G-400 lst strikes improve with the Fujikura Evol. that is your gamer club? The Evol 1 is not counterbalanced was looking at Evol. 2 which is lower spin & slightly counterbalanced, do not remember which Evol shaft you installed in the Ping. I want to order another Evo. shaft for the Ping. Thanks.

    Hey Michael, can you try shaping some shots in the next review and possibly a big hit so we can see at the higher swing speeds.
    Looks impressive in the poor strikes went ok and to me thats the key as most drivers fly well when hit well.
    Finally how easy is it to hit a high fade with this driver ?

  • @banditbaker1675
    @banditbaker1675 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You just have to love and respect PING's engineering integrity, a replacement club doesn't get released unless it is an improvement on the current product.
    I think those are the best set of Driver numbers that I have seen you hit (even the slight mishits performed well).
    So is it going in the Bag, Mike, or is it down to a G400 - G410 face off?
    Also, it will be interesting to see how the "Flat" setting and or the weight in the "Fade" position effects your Ball flight and Spin.
    Either way, my money is on you gaming the G410 LST!

    Your 1st & 3rd drives (1369 & 1271 spin), with (23 & 21 yards peak height) prove that this Driver should not be purchased by anyone looking to play a Draw - it is a power fade machine. Hopefully they have reduced the 'natural' lie angle of this club compared to the Regular G410 which is a few degrees more upright than the M5 and Epic Flash Sub Zero, because unless you use the FLAT shaft setting, the Regular 410 head is slightly Draw biassed with the more upright toe. If they also release a 10.5 head, I would like to see a back to back 'POWER FADE' video where you take the 10.5 Head and set it on FLAT -1 versus the 9 Head and place it on Flat to see if the added opening of the head makes playing the power fade easier and more consistent.

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shot 1 & 3 spins were due to miss strike more than a ‘draw’ swing

    • @wallstreetoneil
      @wallstreetoneil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelNewtonGolf doesn't matter if you didn't try and do it - it was done and that is what results - and that is the major downside of 2000rpm spinning drivers - they are on the edge of dive bombing draw / hooks - thus why they make perfect power fade clubs - and it is why you see many pros on tour using higher lofted heads than they would have used even 5 years ago when it seems like everyone on tour used 8 degree type heads.

    I have a question Michael. You have the advantage of seeing these ball flights along with the closed data. I'm always afraid that GC2 is a bit too forgiving on the '1200 spin range shots. Having seent he flights are you fairly confident on these distances on carry being correct.

    Your ball flight seems so low on the screen. Could just be how it's represented. I've noticed that the Ping 65X is a board of a shaft and for me it flies too low in the G400 lst. Now I know lots of UK players like that low ball flight, old school and wind cheater, so maybe that's why the low ball flight. My setup with 400 LST with 8.5 loft is med-high. Wondering if the launch is very similar to your eye and numbers to your G400 setup?

    As back spin drops, the low side spin takes over, 26-22 yards offline with 547-408 side spin numbers respectfully. Looks like we've reached the cap on potential distance vs dispersion numbers. Stick with your G400 and G400 max.

  • @jergernice1

    im impressed with the spin. this setup outside would not be optimal. too low launch and spin. those 268 carrys only rolling out to 275-280 not 305 like on the sim......as a high ball hitter and higher spin this might be up my alley. looks like a sim driver in this setting.

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So hard to predict run as 100% out of the golfers control.....what it lands on...uphill downhill ground conditions etc etc etc. The sim gives one option, on the course you could get more and could get less from same launch spin ball fight etc.
