Her charm, intelligence and genuineness when describing her creative process and collaborations. Then that fierce boundary setting when people ask too much. QUEEN.
I love how when people from the camera crew ask her to do something (adjust her robe for the mic, or stand up for an MTV promo intro) she just says, "No.". And that's that.
I am old enough to see that some pop starlets entire career is based on this one single interview: The (raspy)voice, melisma, attitude, topics, overall mood and (harsh) makeup! Her entire career is based on 15 minutes of Madonnas life! Reductive! Joanne Gairs makeup must be among some of the most iconic looks of all time. Boiled down to a formula and reduced to emphasize the most striking features of Madonnas face: Almond eyes and an eyeliner, the straight Italian nose contoured for the gawds, the black beauty mark and the striking red lipstick! This is pop culture heaven. She looks like an Andy Warhol print! A look perfect for reproduction. This is a makeup tutorial before Instagram and TikTok! She is everything!
“Yeah well, I lived the day too” Madge was a fireball You throw smoke, She’s throwing back a bundle of flames to burn you completely up! 😂✨👑✨ This is great please upload more of these phenomenal uncut and rare interviews! 🙏🏽, Also if you have a remastered 4K video of Like A Prayer that would be so awesome! And her 1991 Good Morning America full interview, and Some Erotica era rare interviews that would be amazing 😄 And some more B-Roll footages from her Music Videos! lol I know I’m asking a lot but these things really cement why Madonna is The Queen Of Pop ✨🏆✨🙏🏽
This is my favorite Madonna era! So intelligent and motherly! I would do anything just to have had a chance to sit down and have breakfast with her as long as she was not handling the jam!
❤I just love her!! ❤Smart, intelligent, beautiful.Already then. Now 2024 she is iconic megastar. Still smart, intelligent and beautiful. ❤love from Finland
She is just a normal person, who is an incredible artist at the same time! She has never let her stage persona and image overcome her own character and individuality as a private person. When you watch her interviews you feel like you can talk to her just as easy as you would talk to a friend of yours, she seems so geniune, down to earth and relatable. She is humble and she doesn't take herself too seriously however she takes her job soo seriously, which is the way to go!
!8+ mins in , when she talks of her shock at the reaction to the like a prayer video, is a powerful moment, it is shockingly disturbing how that video was interpreted/ received, she held up a mirror to society. Madonna's work has been a true gift to the world unlike some ''artists''.
Omg This is amazing how did you get this footage and knowing that it is from 1990 and it looks so clear and colorful .I need to save this video. That was the best era where everyone was Dancing and having so much fun I miss how it used to be.
Gaga will always copy Madonna no matter what she does she just change it up a little and pretend no one will notice it but she always get caught 😂 she thinks she can get away with it, GAGA also a big fan of Madonna she even admit it
It was a different era then. There was no social media in 1990, so the only way to reach millions of people was through traditional media like TV, magazines etc. Now it's easier for artists to bypass that and go straight to fans via social media
Maybe because they have nothing to say. Watch old Beyonce interviews, she is not that bright. I mean maybe she matured and all, but Madonna here is pretty young but IS intelligent.
@dearjessie83 I disagree that Beyonce isn't bright. I think that she is intelligent, but traditional sit-down interviews aren't necessarily her strong suit. Also, in early interviews, Beyonce is a literal teenager. In this clip, Madonna is in her early 30's, and had been doing these types of interviews for almost a decade. In her (Madonna) first print interview, Liz Rosenberg had to tell her to look at the journalist and not her. Everyone starts somewhere
@@dearjessie83not sure bout beyonce but taylor def isnt intelligent. Or maybe she is but i cant see it from her interviews. She just answers the questions and thats it. Madonna is way more than just a popstar. She is a great thinker, as if shes buddha or socrates.
Out of the millions of things madonna has done, the one thing i remember most is that ponytail, cone bra and headset from the blond ambition world tour. Pepsi had just happened and she blew up
My god the look in her face when the camera man behaves like an asshole and sue tells him to "chill out" and then she refuses to answer the question again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She JUST listened to "in the mix' standing on a table w her black gay dancers showing double middle fingers to the press fillming her in her suite as she WAS the most famous star in the world...kurt just got there n saw it n quipped wow what kind of breakfast was that? The interview started with mtb and her saying "IM JUST HAVING MY MORNING TEA" with her iconic rasp n that brings me to 6/1990 when this 1st aired n i had to watch it at a neighhors house who had cable...when i tell u HOOKED N OBSESSED...I MEAN IT HASN'T CHANGED KINDA HOOKED...i cant even make sense of why if i tried
Its sort of amazing to me that Kurt Loder became one of Madonna's preferred interviewers. Re-listening to this interview - he's a mess with no planned roadmap. He bounces around like a rubber ball asking one random simple question after another - many of which he gets short, one or two word answers. Rather than press her or push for a more thorough answer... he just sort of gives up and goes to a different question. Its odd. Maybe its because he was always a "fan" - so he was too in awe or intimidated to really get to the nitty gritty? Or perhaps its just classic M and she's playing him because she knew no matter what, he'd sing her praises on MTV. Don't get me wrong, its a gem because we get to see behind the curtain a bit, during what was arguably her career apex. But boy do I wish he had pressed her to elaborate on more of those subjects.
That's the show she twisted her ankle landing the hitchkick in Express Yourself. Watch carefully and you'll see her land then grab her ankle. It's almost off camera and behind Madonna. Then when she finally shows up she's wrapped and wears the flat boots for a few shows. HA...my fanatical is showing. It's also the show that was so windy they couldn't use the curtains. I'd love to have a full video of the first Japan show in the rain where they just wore the vogue costumes and jackets for the whole show.
I think a lot of artists today are afraid to be seen this way - too many yes people around them and anything negative will of course be flooded on social media
I find it funny when kurt comments on her "improved dancing" for the show and says, "youve become a real dancer and youve said that you werent before". #1 i dont think she said i was never "a real dancer before" and #2 she came to New York to be a professional dancer so why even make that comment? He used to be such a douche-bag.... LOL
Omg you guys know exactly what he is talking about. There is a heavy filter over the video like many fan social media accounts use to make Madonna look inhuman. It’s a weird smoothing filter. They do it to a lot of films when releasing on blu ray these days. They call it DNR. Digital Noise Reduction. It’s terrible, but it is what is is.
@@RockinDaBoombox AI is not a filter, isn't it? Besides, 1990 Madonna needed NO filters! This same interview is available on YT, the definition is not great though.

it's clear that lady gaga studied this period of madonna's career. she behaved just like this in the early 2010s
"Chill out..... oh yeah, well, I live the day too...."
Brilliant response!
She didn't like this guy at all hahaha
This is a visual jewel, history in the making❤
Thank you so much for uploading this.
Incredible! I love Breakfast With Madonna, and to see the unedited version was so exciting. :) Thank you. :)
Whenever there was a Madonna Weekend on MTV most Madonna interviews were screened too.

I agree with you, this was her most artistic time and the video "In bed with Madonna" was a phenomenal piece that documented this tour so well.
You could actually tell Madonna respected this particular interviewer

Gaga still copied Madonna. Her entire career is based on Madonna.
I love the impressive and unexpected vocabulary of Madonnna, Whitney, Cher . . .
I guess people today just don't use big words anymore 😪😪
When people thought, she would never tour again. And that she was not going to be,a mother ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds like it's raining. Perfect combo for the interview if it is. Cozy in a robe and a cup of coffee.
I do wonder why you never see Beyonce or Taylor Swift being interviewed. Madonna, even at her megastar height of fame, would still do interviews.

How can we download the Celebration Tour in Rio? The link on Mega does not work anymore...
Thanks! ;)
I just checked and the link works fine...
Some of the question are "Reductive."
Who was the injured female dancer? She only had male dancers on that tour.
Or was she talking about Donna or Nikki?
How long ago was this interview? Yet nothing has changed. sad
HOLLA BEBE
7:50 Kurt got smashed about sound bite? I don't understand did something go wrong? Him bringing up Sandra?
lol i liked the first take better

So Gaga. I love it. (Well actually, Gaga is so Madonna)

what did he say between 17:20- 17:26

That's a true artist. I can't get over the Copacabana show.
why did she ever get rid of her mole
