Dude that pillow flipping will come in cluch during hot summer nights
Fr
True tho now I wish I was Japan
I refuse to believe some humans actually flip their pillow over. It's sounds genuinely horrifying to me. Gives me actual chills of discomfort.

Yes, this is where you notice the slight line between what we call superstition and the eminent news of knowing that someone saw something really strange out there in the middle or the forest or the city @@The-most-negative-person-alive
@@The-most-negative-person-alivethe interesting part of this scary stories is that you maybe would never know if they are real or not, but they exist to bring us lessons about being careful and... They got creative with folklore creatures over there! "Ah, yes, we also have a name for the gremlin that steals only left socks."

So you're saying there are right and left socks? Yeez, that's why I get so many weird looks. I need to check my wardrobe and sort it out.
It actually started from ancient Chinese mythology and beliefs; but then the Japanese became obsessed with it haha.
So the second one is the the invisible wall that stops us in all games
So that's why
I should have figured it out sooner that it was a box demon that was stopping me from falling off the map 😂
Essentially snoralax
Noway
They should start using it in games themed around yokai or ancient japan.
I mean, a creative roadblock is allways appreciated.

Birds actually do use animal hair and even human hair to build their nests. I wonder if that’s where this myth came from
Hmmm... a crow that IS scissors.
@@eisflamme2438I remember seeing a short film about that exact thing actually.

Japanese folklore be like:
This is gronsen donsen, he rearranges your spice rack at night. He also eats your still beating heart from your chest sometimes.
Just a lil nibble:>
Just a tiny nibble
As a treat
Pokemon designers - "WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!"
More like Yokai Watch
I mean they already got a road blocking pokemon named snorlax
"Oh man, I can't wait to eat that fi... WHY THE FUCK IS MY MEAT WALKING?!?!?!?"
Dont take that last part out of context.
I read that eating nupeppo's flesh can make you immortal but thing is, they are made of ROTTEN AND SPOILED meat. Sometimes they thought be born from flesh of human corpses, considerinf the fact they are usually found just chilling out in cemeteries.
soo.. hope you have strong stomach
"Why are you late"?
"Eeeeeerm giant invisible demon loaf"
" Oh shit fair enough"
That's what ive always appreciated about yokai stories. Western spirits always have to have some revenge scheme but yokais have variety. If i died and became a shoe, i would also just run around being a goofy lil guy 😂
What if someone decided to wear you? I don't think that would be nice??(unless you have a foot fetish)
@@Rosetintedwater just make them trip every once in a while
I honestly love these types of Yokai- not dangerous or deadly, just silly little shits causing mischief and at most slight inconvenience
That wall creature would work perfectly as a plot roadblock in rpg games.
I mean it’s probably the inspiration for snorlax blocking paths in Pokémon so
I liked the pillow flipping guy except for the part where he takes your soul 😂
Monsters in Japanese folklore basically all just gigantic shitposts
Japanese folklore creatures are basically trolls (no pun intended).
Japan be like: we have a ghost that throws mud at peoples houses. No one knows why he does it, but it’s sure annoying…
I find it really interesting that there’s a lot of mythical creatures that are basically neglected inanimate objects gaining sentience. It’s a really interesting concept and a good way of teaching people to take care of their things and not damage or neglect them, I imagine.
I believe it comes from the Shinto belief that all things have a soul in them, I think. I remember hearing about a modern Shinto practise where people would have funerals for their obsolete electronics.
I love how so many Japanese yokai are just naughty or mildly inconvenient, only a few actually kill you
i like how some of this spirits are just things people would do but would cover it up with spirits
I remember hearing about a creature that comes into being specifically when a house cat dies of old age. It transforms into a weird shapeshifting cat monster.
Nekomata and they don't have to die first
Bakeneko e nekomata
My personal favorite is the Otoroshi. It is said to be a sort of gargoyle that sits on ledges around fences and gates and waits for people to pass through. If it senses evil intent in someone passing through, they will jump on said person, knocking them down, and then grab them by the leg and drag them down to the underworld.
That biwa guy is just like "Laidhibi(doll)" from Manipuri folklore
It is basically a doll made from scrap made by small young girls they play them like a friends we call them "ita( friend,{girl} )" and after we play with them we let them sleep we sing lullaby. And if we forget to let them sleep she will wake up in the middle of the night and would cry under banana tree . That is basically scary . Well i myself being a modern child did not play with laidhibi instead i played with plastic Barbie. Well it still gives me chill down my spine and also if you want to make laidhibi you need a teacher who are skilled basically we cant make them with 0 knowledge.
Love these Little Guys
I literally flip my pillow nightly as one side gets hotter than other 😅
The 2nd yokai was also the inspiration for the thwomps from Super Mario.
"Anyway I find them *charming* "
Considering that Japanese women sometimes gave locks of hair to their lovers, a married woman may have invented the Kami Keri.
“A big bag of animated flesh” 😂
For some reason I heard "anime-tit flesh" 😭
Yes, Japan is know for their animated flesh. . .
Why am I a victim of micro aggressive yokai?
The last one was just a description of me 💀

Yeah but you could lose your soul

The first one is so wholesome 😭😭✋
We need a nukapo plush
He's just a lil guy
Gotta love when ancient spirits just straight up troll people
Nukapo is just a chill guy
I would like a herd of them
@@doginhat13 only downside is that they smell bad
Ok if you check the comment's, here's a nutshell word for these folklore creatures:
A N N O Y I N G
Kana Keri makes sense because when I was younger my hair had a shorter strand one day and my mom thought I cut it, I can and could swear on my life that I didn’t cut it (my siblings are too tight strung, they wouldn’t of gained anything out of it to)
"Animated flesh? Tell me, does it GRIP?"
-Gojo
I like how when you think of evil spirots, it's all about curses, death, etc.
When most of the time its just about slight inconvenience.
The first one is literally me
I like how yokai's are either "These can and will kill you!" or "Okay can you stop? That' just...annoying"
Sorry for being late mr wall stoped me
Bring back Mr wall
Finally ones that wont fuck your day up
Now little timmy keep practicing your instrument or it will annoy you
Don't forget the shirime, a Nopperabou that has an eye where it's "garbage chute" would be
Humpty Dumpty got wrecked
Pillow flipping to the cold side is good
Judge:Why are you late for court?
Me:Mr wall
Love how these are either massive dangers or minor inconveniences
"A lump of meat that has gained a soul" Same, buddy. Same
I love how yokai can go from "this creature will rip out your favorite bones if you dont eat your rice" to "this guy smells your shoes so wash them often"
The fact that most of them are more of just a mild nuisance than anything dangerous
Fun fact pillows during this era could be solid (and not soft) and quite small, you'd put your head on em to keep it up but them being small, easy to make fall and solid could result in neck breakinf
I'm gonna be watching my unplayed guitar like a hawk now
My pillow always gets hot and him flipping it is a *chad* move
“Lonely I’m mister lonely. All on my own!” - funky ass guitar
Forbidden Fleshlight
"MY HAIR NOW" - window creature's ancient relative
The pillow thing is the best ones not even annoying. The other side of the pillow is the best side because it’s so cold.
Jun'ya Ota: *_*fiercely taking notes_**
Makuragaeshi sounds like a pretty nice guy to be around during summer.
Biwabokoboko: BUT YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO CUT ME OFF!
Dude I LIVE for and LOVE yōkai. They're just freaky little guys most the time, causing you to sometimes, quite literally, lose your sock in the dryer. Ofc there's also the more popular and dangerous ones, but all-in-all yōkai are my favorite pieces of folklore.
Sanji: oi mosshead! Where were you lost all this time
Zoro: I was stopped by Nurikabe
The pillow flipper is the one I'd like to be haunted by the most. He seems chill
The nurakabe (how ever you spell it) is probably the inspiration for snorlax
me after the pillow guy does his job, "Thanks, now its nice n cool for sleepytime"
All i can think of at the last one is;
"They call me the midnight Baber" -Bird thingy
I want to have the last one as a pet
My favorite part of the video is the narrator he sounds unhinged 😂😂
A peice of my hair fell out when i heard the snip-
"I got you bro" *flips pillow to the cold side* me:"thank you"
Maybe that's why my pillow was on the floor this morning 😂😂😂
The second one is one of the inspiration of gigantamax copperajah
A homie to flip your pillow to the cold side for you? Brotha dont even gotta pay rent, its the reverse of on sight.
There are a lot of weird yokai. One I remember is whats known as a "bathroom licker", which licks dirty bathrooms.
I love how they're all just little critters.
But always having the cool side of the pillow flipped.. that’s the best!!
The mr wall is funny because it is a irl barrier from any game
"Why am i late? Funny you would ask"
Wtf was that giant black thing
That's what she said
Jamal 💀
This story is absolutely incredible. If there’s a type of movie that absolutely devastates me, like ugly sobbing, it’s movies about innocent people being coerced by police and falsely convicted for crimes they didn’t commit. The thought of a killer feeling the same way watching a movie, to the point of turning himself in… WOW. And as always, you did an amazing job, and I love the look around the area.
The first one is my spirit animal🗿
Forget the midnight barber, we got the anytime anywhere barber
I swear there is probably a yokai which takes away you cup handle as soon as you are about to drink your tea.
You know you got that one friend that looks like the first creature
Well back in old japan their hair was invaluable to them. It was super prestigious to have a lot of hair to wrap up. So a monster that just up and irreversibly damages your pride would be pretty scary back then.
