Nice. My many years of auto, motorcycle, and small engine experience transfers to the hydraulic brakes on my bike. People don't even need the yellow bucket if they take off the other 2 screws that hold on the cover at the handle...
Brother THANK YOUUUU for this vid! I got my bike brand new and turned it upside down to patch my front tube and flipped it back and had NOO back breaks! They were completely flat! I finally got it fixed! Saved me so much money THANK YOU BROTHER and Blessings to you!
Thank you for the thorough instructions, my rear brakes on my 35 mph ebike are gone, so I tried the method of removing reservoir screw and pumping the lever to remove the air, but no joy. I will try your method next, but I have to get a bleeder funnel first. Thanks man.
Could be your pads too! Any Bicycle brake set up isn't designed for the weight and speed an ebike produces, you may only get 500 miles from a pair. Good luck
I have been on youtube and google for several hours and I just happened to come upon your videos. You are SO SMART! I have the exact same problem with my Tektro Brakes HD-E350 as you with the one caliper moving and the other one not moving. But, my bigger problem is I had to buy a new brake hose kit (Trek store charged me $31 and then I found it on Amazon for $10). Anyway, I needed a longer hose because I raised my handlebars so far up that the brake line wouldn't reach anymore. I just want to put the brake lever and caliper back on with the new hose and I couldn't find out how. Now I know, thanks to you! I was on the verge of tears being that I have spent the entire day trying to get my bike up and running so I can go for a ride! I'm new at fixing my own bike. I can't thank you enough. Where are you located? I sure could use a bike mechanic like you to teach me the tricks.
Thanks DVDS, This means a lot to me. When I put my apes on, i had to lengthen both front and rear, I reused the rear for the front and bought new line on Amazon for the rear. Markup is part of every business, why should I risk capital to stock something I can't sell and make a profit on, that still has a risk of loss or theft. Invest in decent tools, as they will last ya a lifetime.
You are helping me fix my life with this info. I'm investing this you are so intelligent! Than you, this will help me get to work and other things thanks. I'm 48 years old. I can do this sh'+. Take care.

Not sure about the magic bicycle additives that we superstitiously have been given to believe in by the bike gods. I also reuse my fluid by running it through a mr. coffee paper filter.
Yeah, the design on the lowest priced option for Tektro POS hydraulic brakes is 🐂💩. Only one of the pistons ever moved on my bike. Before you look for a brake upgrade you may try a full bleed on the lines and a complete disassembly of the caliper & piston
If you don't have a measurable amount of air in the line then this burping method should fix it. If there is so much air or contaminants in the lines then you may want to do a full drain and refill. Just like everything in life, the first time will be a Fjuckin mess, the more you do it the easier it gets. I can do a full drain & fill in a few minutes now.
@@UncleFjester thanks will check them tomorrow. By the way I have enjoyed a lot of your videos. Running with knobbys on the hyper, keep up the good work
Typically it's the nylon planetary gears on the internal clutch beginning to shred. The little pieces are getting caught in the other teeth causing the crunching noise. Easy to replace.

I tried all the other bleed methods and this was the easiest and simplest thing to fix my brakes! Thank you!
Glad it helped!

Here is how to make a bike stand for that heavy Piece of 💩

Thanks! Saved me money avoiding lbs - ezmtb worked great on juiced crosscurrent s
Also used baby oil; big bottle for 5 bucks

Great, as a old automotive engineer, I have questioned all the "over engineered" kits that's all over the web sites and also TH-cam.

You explain things so well. Thank you!
Awesome vids on the e-bike brakes. Best on TH-cam !!!!!!
Best bleed video. Finally fixed my soft brake
Great to hear!

Thank you brother. U saved me money.. cheers
Thanks again for another great video professor
Where do I get a cup to fit my Tektro reservoir? One came with my kit, but it doesn't fit?
use the little brass adapter between the cup & reservoir
I tried this and it doesn't work for me. The pistons inside the cylinder still doesn't depress against rotor I'm getting no movement with the caliper

@UncleFjester do you have a video on that and I have dyisland hydraulic brake

Hang Tight Q, I'm taking the FJ out today!
@@UncleFjester Awesome. 🍿🧈🧂
i tried to bleed the same brakes flicking the lever for 1 hour lol,i gave up,no idea whats wrong
prolly got too much air in the lines. time for a full bleed
@@UncleFjester hey cheers.will try a full bleed tomorrow.thanks a million.
hi.. if i have too much travel on the hydraulic brake lever does that mean it needs more fluid or is there another adjustment?

Off topic, have you ever had crunching in the rear wheel,
nope, does it sound like grinding? Prolly wheel bushings. The wheels are poorly designed. did you see this? th-cam.com/video/RCQEXWMmDAw/w-d-xo.html

Why is there so much travel in your lever? You need to be a less travel as possible without the pistons pushing the pads against the rotor.
Yea, good luck with that, These Tektro Brakes are the worst entry level POS on the market.
Thanks UF!
Where did you get the yellow cup from thanks 🤘
LINK IS IN THE DESCRIPTION AS ALWAYS!
