One of my favorite songs, this song is so beautifully written & Ed's voice is remarkable haunting n soulfully. Ir touches you so deep. But every one of their songs are beautifully written n sung with emotion that hits you hard to the core of your soul.
Ed wrote this song for his girl at the time. I never heard it before a month or so ago. I am a huge ass Live fan and I have this song on repeat. You can definitely tell that this girl meant so much to Ed. If anyone gets a chance gotta listen to all of their stuff just one talented bunch of dudes. Even now they still sound amazing.
To me, sounds more like it's for a past girlfriend than current (at the time) girlfriend. But I did read an article that said it was unfinished. Idk if it was the author of the article or Ed (being interviewed) who said it was unfinished
I think you've got it mixed up with the Pearl Jam song "Animal" or the Toad The Wet Sprocket song "Hold Her Down" ..both of those songs were.. but I don't think this one is

Probably not as much as the other grunge bands. But they were by far the deepest lyrically. Either way....great band, great 90's songs and memories.
