Cardboard sword does not work for battle. Good for cosplay, but you cannot fight with cardboard sword.

I’m pretty sure this would be safe to bring to a convention as long as you prove it’s a fake weapon. I went to an anime con recently and there were plenty of the kinds of swords that were allowed in
