Here is a video for your PRONUNCIATION skills! This is to help you achieve the Modern Received Pronunciation accent (Modern RP) but also to help make sure you are not misunderstood!
As usual I am teaching you English that is IN USE today and used by my friends, family, and people I come across in daily life. The accent I speak with is a British accent usually found in the South of England, which is called Modern Received Pronunciation. I hope you enjoy my video!

Regarding the word ‘conscious’ I have always pronounced it with a ‘sh’ sound according to what we have been taugh and also according to the phonetic transcription in Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary!

- My Amaryllis bulb, which I bought for Christmas ,
finally came to bloom successfully this month ,
better late than not at all ! After blooming I throw it away ,
because as an amateur gardener , I never managed to let the bulb bloom next year again , my experience is only leaves will grow the next years , without buds .
- The universal scientific Latin plant names sound beautiful , I agree !
And useful , internationally, to avoid mistakes in plant names .

Anyway, I am understanding how the 'shwa' sound plays its part in English pronunciations. We did not learn it this way when we took phonics in school. But that was in the 1960s. What a difference. It is good to know.
