Love it, hate it, we're all here for it. Seed simps are no exception, for they outline the rules of what makes bad fictions. Dread it, run from it. Destiny aways arrive. I am inevitable.
i want to say something kira has a kill count of like 26 people form seed and destiny i stop counting when he cut a ship in half with the strike freedom meteor and said welp there goes him not killing
Fun Fact: Rie Tanaka (Lacus Clyne's Japanese voice) has stated multiple times, Lacus Clyne is the most stiff and awkward character that she has voiced so far.
I read a Korean novel once where the MC hated women with pink hair, if he saw Agnes, he would immediately tell Kira that she's a traitor, based on the fact she has pink hair. To be fair, women with pink hair always screwed that MC over, so, he has his reasons.
i will admit compared to gundam it isn't the best but for music, suit designs and battles are still stunning like i cared less about plot and just enjoyed the light show gundam seed freedom brought with the battles also i am honestly thankful we got a z'gok instead of what they originally had planned because they wanted acguy as athrun's suit before z'gok but opted out of acguy due to the popularity of beargguy so they chose z'gok and i adore z'gok in this film and will definitely get it's kit

@m_knight-54 the seed series wasn't that bad I just like that the movie is more focused on Kira's problem bringing the main character back, unlike Seed Destiny
@@CaptainJohnRFS8814 true though I will admit the story has moments where it hits and where it misses only thing for em that wasn’t like that was the ms designs, battles and music
As some who loves freedoms design, and was introduced to anime mostly by gundam seed & destiny... terrible movie, pure nostalgia bait. Cool visuals tho. Altho Hathaway movie has totally set my bar way too high for any new gundam content.
Well, UC takes mechanical design to the next level. The physics, inertia and gravity actually work with an actual feeling of weight on the suits. Seed is like super mc with super robots.
@@Zeiss120 in terms of visual and audio quality, Hathaway is fking amazing. The story and the gundam designs were meh. Should probably have included that.
LOL, not to reality check you, but you do realize that Gihren Zabi of the original show looked up to Hitler as a powerful leader and that colony lasers in UC are a thing?
@@wanderingthedesert5599 Death Lasers are a common occurrence in Gundam media. In Wing, White Fang's (pro colony ) battle ship fired off a couple death lasers. IIRC there was a death laser in the 8 episode Unicorn OVA.
The movie is basically a recycle of the later half of Seed Destiny. The only difference is Shinn is part of the good guys. Otherwise, it's still a show about Kira's hypocrisy on pacifism. He kept yapping about being superior does not give them the right to rule everyone and decide who lives and who dies while being superior himself. His counter arguements only applies to the bad guys but not himself. He abandons his no kill rule and just flat out execute an already defeated enemy just because. All that fake tension in the later part where he gets almost defeated just thrown out the window when he gets mighty strike freedom and end up just another gary stu b.s. no damage run. He even said that the specs of the machine does not determine the strong when he is being taunted by piloting an inferior machine, yet by the end, it's the Mighty SF OP specs that win the battle for him.
I guess that's why I still prefer other Gundam Series, like 00 or IBO, or just Stardust Memories. I mean, yeah, Gundam is a powerful suit in its lore, but even then the suit performance also depends on it's pilot. Kira is a Coordinator or whatnot, then they said Athrun is better but somehow they ended up in a draw, with Kira somehow survive point blank explosion with just bits of bandage here and there. Like how? Forget realism, or Real Robots genre, because at that moment it's the pilot that goes Super Pilot, not the Robots (Like Mazinger Z, Getter, Raiden, etc). Though at the same time, Freedom series goes beam spamming with no cooldown is the same as placing Freedom series in Super Robot series, so yes, Freedom is just A super pilot in a super robot placed in Real Robots genre. All the weight of the fight are placed on Freedom and it's beam spam. I mean, even IBO and 00 has it's weight of the fight distributed more fairly. Exia doesn't come out unscathed nor needed no maintenance after every fight, I mean there are moments where Exia is just on standby because it's in no condition to fight, and so did other mech in that series, you can see the effects of the battle and the competency of the enemies reflected by the damage incurred. Freedom? It's in the name, it's always in free mode and ready to fight. Damage? What damage? Only the big last boss worth every penny, the rest are just incompetent pilots, that's not even worth mentioning. PS. Unicorn first battle, when some mech goes against Ksathriya, one of them managed to give her some difficulty, and people are giving that pilot praises. Seed series? Is there even one grunt or normal soldier able to evade his beam spam? It's like there is no single competent soldier even among the masses.
@@salamanderred8148 Agreed, even Barbatos, Gusion, and Flauros got shafted by freaking illegal planet cracking nukes and wasn't left unscathed and they were on the brink of death and destruction. It felt that even powerful demons(ibo) and angels (00) can be damaged, wounded and killable. Not thick plot armor
@@salamanderred8148 If we're talking about SEED, the writing is a little bit better, though the execution could've been handled better. When Athrun detonates the Aegis, the Strike still has its phase shift armor activated. Remember, PS armor repels kinetic weaponry like bullets, and bazooka rounds, but not beam weapons. So the Strike would be protected against exploding shrapnel and the force of the explosion (though it most likely depleted what was left of the battery). As for Kira surviving the heat from the blast? I think there are two different theories: Kira was able to jump out of the Strike and seek cover (he's not melted in the cockpit which we do see later, so this is plausible). With that said, he would still be partially exposed to the intense heat. Something to consider, back when the Archangel recovered the Strike from atmospheric reentry, it was stated that the radiation in the cockpit would've killed a natural, whereas Kira was sick. They are careful to point out its because of his genes due to being a Coordinator. And before I'm accused of this being an asspull, just remember, Dearka and Yzak ALSO entered the atmosphere in the Buster and Duel Gundams and they weren't equipped with the Aile Striker pack that Kira had. As for as the Freedom being overpowered with the exception of fighting Rau Le Creuset's Providence Gundam? There are plenty of instances where Kira was being overwhelmed, primarily by the EA Extended pilots in Calamity, Forbidden, and Raider. True, the Freedom surpassed any of the grunt mobile suits, but consider this: Kira had the element of surprise where most pilots were distracted fighting other people, and the Freedom itself surpassed the 1st Generation GAT-series Gundams. However, even Kira could still be overwhelmed. We only really saw him fight Yzak one on one in the Freedom once, whereas the Extended pilots are ganging up on him and on the verge of defeating him several times until Athrun comes over and saves his bacon / lends assistance. But the Freedom was damaged in battle when attempting to retrieve the escape pod that Flay Alster was on when intercepted by Calamity (I think). Honestly as far as I'm concerned, Athrun was still the better pilot throughtout the original series of SEED. Kira may be the Ultimate Coordinator, but it's largely dependent on self-actualization of that potential. This was mentioned sometime early in the first half / quarter of the series. Now if you want to get on beyond SEED and into Destiny....... that's another story entirely.
@@salamanderred8148 Freedom isnt Super robot unlike 00 whom has alien,mc with supernatural magic(alien as a rule that should never be breached as Gundam series but they still did it to become a fully fledged Super Robot show) God i wish the Gundam community isnt full of fake tourist who make this dumb takes all time
That power of love part is cringe and the only time its ever worked is in G Gundam because at least in that its a campy as fuck show that you never take seriously anyway.
Gundam Seed was good up until the Alaska episode. Kira went full no kill mode and the entire tone of the series completely changed. It doesn't help all the reused stock battle footage that eventually became intolerable. I can't believe Seed and Destiny became so popular in Japan but I guess the VAs and the music was a big part.
My favorite part about the Cosmic Eras reputation is that despite its success in Japan relative to other shows, in the crossovers like Dynasty Warriors and Super robot wars the other characters actively *make fun* of Kira. Master Asia calls him a brat who’s carried by his Gundam cause he has no real skill and the super robot wars characters call him out for his BS and praise Shinn. It’s like the games were made by critics of seed but they knew the series was too popular to not add in Come to think of it SEED is basically what fans of battletech, macross, Armored Core, and VOTOMS who hate Gundam but have never actually seen it THINK Gundam is
Bro you couldn't be more correct with your assessment of SEED being what killed Gundam for a lot of people. For most people who've never seen Gundam but love mecha like Battletech, SEED is pretty much their go to argument against Gundam saying that it's way too melodramatic when it's really just SEED and let's be honest, a lot of what made mecha like Battletech, Armored Core, Macross, VOTOMS, etc. so great very much came from Gundam 0079. It's a shame, but what can you do?
@@mattmaddogwheaton4724 we show them Stardust Memory, and victory laps them because we've got grown up Gundams designed by the same person who designed Battletechs. Reaction warheads? No, we got the balls to call them nukes in Gundams.
@@DomFortress Should also mention that Shoji Kawamori's redesigns for the Battlemechs from Battletech are just SEX! Like imagine a Battletech anime directed by the dude who made Dougram and VOTOMS with the same sense of low-fi futurism that we know and love from Battletech, but with some really bitchin' mech designs by the dude who graced us all with the Variable Fighters from Macross and of course Armored Core. How badass would that be?
The tragedy of this movie is that it mainly deals with some of Kira's trauma from the end of SEED, but does it four years too late. I thought we were going to get this in Destiny, but nadda. I think that the the material for a good story is there, but it needed more fleshing out and probably a 12 to 13 episode OVA (about 22 minutes per ep) instead of a movie. There's some real serious stuff in there that is just missed. Kira's Savior complex? The root of this is his recurring failure to save people, the first being when Yzak shoots the civilian shuttle, and the second where Rau brutally murders Flay out of sheer spite. Losing your girlfriend like that (even if she was his ex at the point) in that manner would've messed him up and affect his relationships going forward. But that doesn't get the fleshing out it deserves and instead we have Athrun's horny thoughts of Cagalli and Lacus in that..... really weird space playmate getup and the absurdity of the Mighty Strike Freedom. Cool upgrade, not going to lie, but..... come on. The only victory that ever felt "earned" was the end of SEED, and partially because that series was rivaling Zeta and Victory in terms of being a veritable blood bath (until they retconned Mu's death; after that no legacy characters could die).
If I remember right, Fukuda said in an interview after Seed that Mu and Rau were supposed to be the only newtypes left in the CE timeline. Then Destiny comes around and during the final battle Kira starts having newtype flashes for no reason. Fukuda couldn't let his Mary-su characters be upstaged on any abilities.
Yeah, I remember there being a lot of things with it about how a chunk of it was that the development of the Coordinators meant that Newtypes wouldn't be fully developing in the aftermath, especially with the massacres where anyone that was a half decent pilot was likely dead already by the end of SEED.
SEED is the Bayformers of the Gundam franchise. Makes a lot of yen, has cool mobile suits, but most of the characters and the universe they inhabit are atrocious. Also I love Fairy Tail, Edens Zero also. But Gundam Seed is just a pretentious twat-waffle of a series.
And much like with bayformers, the only redeemable aspects of the story are found in the first entry and a spin off that was trying something different
The way I would describe Gundam Seed as a whole is Brainrot. If you just shut off your brain and enjoy the pew pew spam, then it could be a great thing to watch. If you decide to watch it for plot and characters however, well you are going to have a long and painful time
As a thrashy seed fan, i wish the villains was more competent like the og seed. Theyre psychics but suck at it so badly at the end once team kira knows.
To me it’s the opposite. SEED already has great antagonists in Rau and Durandal so instead of creating a compelling villain for a 2 hr movie, they fleshed out the 3 main characters in a satisfying way.
12:20 idk, I feel like that seating system was more popularized from Code Geass. On one hand at least that motorcycle seating arrangement applied to all Black Knight pilots male and female. On the other hand you weren't getting booty shots on the guys like you were with the girls.
I liked the part where Shura was freaking out after being shown a naked projection of Cagalli by Athrun. It has great potential, rivaling Kaiba's defeat meme.
I personally liked the movie as I do like SEED as it was my entrance to Gundam. Thank god it was because I recognize how much of a mess it is compared anything else in the universe. Every character is god awful in their own special way and mecha designs and cool fights were always the hard carry to me. I can see what they were trying to do this movie in rectifying broken writing. But ultimately it still ended up being an entertaining nostalgia film over anything substantial.
If I showed Gundam Seed to my sister she would probably like it because she was a fan of twilight and the Kardashians! But I’m a good brother and I want what’s best for her! XD
Im ngl I probably agree with most of what you have to say but I had to stop watching like a minute in. The general pertentious attitude with the syllable comment or acting like a gundam seed fan could have no idea what the word fiscal meant. Or just the general objectivist view of what "good" is. Movie wasnt totally amazing plotwise. Had some good giant mech fight in space scenes. Made tons of money. The world keeps moving.
I did film school too. Writing was shoved down our throats first and all the way through, but I aint about to sit here and bludgeon something made by folk sitting way above me the way he does 😂
Let's be honest. As much of a trashy the SEED Freedom was, it was _much_ better than some of the worst garbage Disney/MCU shiets nowadays (e.g. Star Wars Acolyte, The Marvels and Wish) 😂🤣
hell, SEED Freedom has better romcom elements than fawken Rental Kanojo & Roshidere put together calling these two peak romcom is an insult to actual kick-ass, no nonsense romcoms like OtoTenshi, Our Dating Story, & Gijiharem when it comes to modern offerings
@@adlibbed2138 All I can think of the entirety of the "main" Gundam SEED series (SEED, Destiny, and Freedom), is that it's a Twilight-ish Gundam fanfic made by Mr. Fukuda and Mrs. Morisawa just for fun of it 😂🤣 At the very least, SEED is much less of a travesty than Star Wars Acolyte. That $heit is insulting 💀☠️
I think GSF wrapped Kira’s story nicely well and also loved how goofy it is. Reminded me of old super robot anime where the power of love and combining conquers all.
@@Shinnasuka73 eh... I don't about that. I mean, I too wish F91 was made into a proper series rather than the mess of a movie that it is, but I've heard mixed things on Crossbone manga where its a bit silly at times.
I wish for 00 side stories as well, but I feel like Sentinel and Crossbone should get in first because they are pretty awesome! Though along side the X1 and Ex-S should be the Anchor and the Phantom!
For me, I don't expect perfect writing from anything SEED related (except Stargazer and Astray) and would set my bar lower than what a person expect from a good Gundam series. I may get hate for this, but overall I liked SEED Freedom, it's not a well written masterpiece of a movie but I enjoyed it. It still has a bad plot, a literal Embryo clone, Lacus is still underwhelming as a character, relies on nostalgia like what WFM did, the Black Knights (except maybe Ingrid) are one note jokes, same goes for Agnes and Kira still has some plot armor. But SEED Freedom mainly has some good points as well, mainly on how Kira's character was handled and making his actions in Destiny make sense, it was satisfying to see Kira taking a lot of L's until the Proud Defender came and showed some needed vulnerability. Another reason I liked the movie is that it redeemed Shinn, after years of being trashed on by the fandom, he finally gets a moment to shine by destroying the Black Knights and stopping thier version of the Destiny Plan, basically a redemption of what he did during Destiny. And finally I enjoyed seeing Athrun beating up Kira and made the Z'Gok one of my favorite grunt MS. All of this is my opinion of course and I can totally respect those who don't like SEED Freedom or disagree with my opinion. At the end of the day there is always going to be a Gundam Series some people like and some people hate that we need to respect.
@@Blue-Code but does it has to be a featured film animation format, or any other fanfic medium would do? @@DomFortress I honestly don't care on how SEED Freedom was presented, I would have also been fine if SEED Freedom was also shown as a series but a movie is fine as well. And the reason I even set my bar lower in SEED Freedom is because I already Watched SEED, SEED Destiny and Stargazer, with Stargazer being the best, SEED being good at best (carried by Rau, Ramius and Mu) and SEED Destiny being absolute garbage.
@@Blue-Code so you would still make some sorta attempt to redeem SEED, even though you know damn well that series alone was carried by Kira, not by any other characters you mentioned. The proof is that SEED Destiny did an 180 on its plot and ditched Shin's development, the moment Kira showed up at the orphanage. And did any of those characters you mentioned made any meaningful contribution during the movie? Just to be clear, your "changing the goal post" by yourself highlighting other characters, had just made the movie failed to your own standards as well. Pathetic.
@@DomFortress SEED series was never carried by Kira. The reason Kira became the protagonist in Destiny during the second half is because the writer has beef with Cagali's old VA and Shinn's VA. They didn't do it because of favoritism for Kira. And the characters I mentioned (Rau, Mu and Ramius) only carried SEED, not SEED Freedom. SEED Freedom was carried by Shinn and Athrun, especially after I mentioned Kira taking multiple L's until the Proud Defender came.
@@Blue-Code you just said in your original post that those L's on Kira showed his vulnerable side, thus was a strength for this movie. Yet here you are lying outta you ass, saying how the movie was carried by other characters not Kira, even though the entire review plus spoilers would suggest otherwise. Pathetic.
As someone who is not a Seed fan I did enjoy this movie for being fun in a trashy way. That being said… While I am glad that Shinn got a good showing at the end, the rest of the movie treats him like a joke. He never gets his rematch with Shura and every serious moment with him is punctuated with a joke at his expense. Even when kicking butt, the characters all point out how stupid he is. While Cagalli doesn’t get disrespected here like in Destiny she has little to no role at all, and the fact that her original VA was replaced is very telling. There were so many opportunities for potential characterization but we never get that. We never know what the Archangel crews relationship with the ex-Minerva crew is like aside from being fellow soldiers. Are they even friends? Because it doesn’t seem like that. we never see Luna and Meyrin interact despite being sisters. The Black Knights are no different than the Druggies or the Phantom Pain trio in terms of personality. I am glad we get to see some fruits of The Destiny Plan instead of it being merely a vague proposal, but now I’m wondering why Aura is able to reverse her aging without any issues when it was such an issue for Rau and Rey. Why didn’t the Akatsuki just go through the shield and destroy Requiem like it did last time? Andy gets a voiceless blink-and-you-miss-it cameo and that’s it. He should’ve never come back in the first place. It’s hilarious how irrelevant Kira’s Heliopolis friends are despite being his reason for fighting all the way back in the first Seed. This movie was entertaining and as a reunion film it mostly works, but in terms of character and story it is sorely lacking, and I wasn’t even expecting much. Before anyone says “it happened in the drama CD/ Fukuda mentioned it in an interview”, if it didn’t happen on screen then it didn’t happen at all.
I love parts of SEED, which is a reason I hate so much else about it. There's the framework of a REALLY good series there, but it's buried under 20 tons of stupid bullshit. Base SEED was... fine enough I guess... Destiny was a dumpsterfire, and GSF is pure nostalgia bait for $$.
You know what’s funny is that if you watch this movie without any of the context of the two shows you will get about as much out of it as someone who did. The plot is half baked and meaningless to begin with
The Lacus fanservice was actually a bit out of character in a meta since for SEED. Like Lacus Is a basically fanservice character for girls to self insert as to get the pretty boys like Athrun and Kira but she’s never really been portrayed as super sexualized in fanservice until this movie
The movie had a high "stupid factor" as my family likes to say about these things, but it was a lot of dumb-fun and I enjoyed it despite those problems. It's miles better than the last third of Destiny (which was painful-bad), and basically everything with Shinn is great. It's kinda bad but I liked it because it was fun, and a step up from Destiny.
It's an unintentional funny movie. It's shit next to other better written and directed Gundam movies/Ovas. I'm pissed off we still haven't heard part 2 of Hathaway flash.
I am rather disappointed in the film despite liking some things in it. I would like to see more Gundam Seed if they can make improvements. Although I would be perfectly fine if this is the end of Gundam Seed as I don’t like the creator’s story telling and characters portrayals.
Gundam seed the series that made me angry from watching it. "it's wrong that you think only people who are born speacial should live" "i remembered my birth i was born specail so i can win".......
Honestly the more I hear of Kira and his role in seed, the more I'm reminded of the MC from SAO. And reminding folks of SAO ain't exactly the best thing to do. (But to be honest, seed as a whole feels like the bayformers franchise reception, the first part can at least be debated on it whether its fine or not, subsequent stuff (mostly Seed Destiny and freedom, unsure about the side manga and stuff) not so much. Maybe good concepts there but really poor execution. Really only thing that caught my eye in freedom was the Gyanstrom, kinda fan of the Gyan so yeah i like that suit. Not much else interested me. Still need to finish some of the other gundam series ive had on the back burner. Also the air ride footage part had me chuckle a bit. Very great editing there. Another good video micah. Keep up the good work.
Really respect the review you did on Gundam Seed Freedom! I wasn't really a fan of the Seed franchise honestly, but you made a lot of good points! I think the only thing I like about Seed was the kits but the story? Not really. Overall really good review!! Respect! 💯💯
Correction, Narutos fanbase is teen white girls but MOSTLY Black Guys who watched the show on toonami. Also fun fact Fukuda wanted to have a scene where Kira dreams of assaulting Lacus so yeah
It's ok. Makes me wonder about the tech and how they forgot or changed the way things worked in this universe. Been told many times in groups, but I still don't feel like that's how it should have been. Hate the Black Knights suit design.
Also, before I forget: Fukuda: Made Grendizer U, but SIDELINED Duke Fleed and Grendizer in his own show, and made Kouji Kabuto and Mazinger X his new Kira and Freedom Expy. From even a Mazinger Z fan's point of view that is not cool, Fukuda. Plus, Kouji Kabuto is not Kira, he is so much more cooler than that Gary Stu, and does not deserve the character bastardization. Neither does Duke for that matter.
It is somewhat childish but with actual good character development and fight scenes. The enemy suit design is unique too. Kio doing that no killing thing is very reasonable and develops well since he's a kid who was raised by a Vagan hating grandfather and knows that Vagans aren't monsters later.
@@ThorneStark especially since they revealed that Asemu wasn't a deadbeat, he just wanted to make sure one side didn't annihilate the other until a solution could be found.
This is the video I was looking for- Well, I think Mitsuyo Fukuda proved that back in the day. It wasn’t just his wife getting sick that prevented his show from being well. This movie had every single problem that the series GSD in particular had in SCORES - don’t even know where to begin, but at least they emasculated shin so early in the movie you didn’t have to think about it again
I clicked on the movie when it was posted on a certain anime site and went right it away to the last battle. When Athuran thought of Cagali when he was fighting the bad guy which led him scream in terror had me dying lmao
To quote WackyModder84 "Take Me Down to the Asspull City/Where the writing's trash but the fights are preeetty!/Ohhh won't you pleeeasse taaake me hoooome!!"
Man i didnt like the seed timeline but this movie is the perfect embodiment of why I hate the plot and the setting but I like the MS design of most of its original designs.
I enjoyed it for what it is: a comedic popcorn flick rather than a serious one. It does nothing to save or fix what already is a fubar'd series that is Seed/Seed Destiny though. lol.
I didn't like that the plot turned into a "save the princess" plot and that the main bad guy Orphee annihilated two countries because Lacrus Clyne would rather date Kira than him. The Black knights had a Super Newtype mind control power that they used to make Kira attack random soldiers. Yet in the last part of the movie, the black knights never used that mind control power again. The movie was a repeat of the last episode of Gundam Seed Destiny except with a working Death Laser. And the struggles of the characters are trying to get laid. Agnes betrayed COMPASS because Kira rejected her. People who watched Seed/Destiny already know that Kira and Lacus are a couple. Why did we need another plot that says Kira and Lacus are a couple?
I fully admit the characters and plot line are terrible. BUT, I like some of the Mecha design, which is the only reason I watched. Hoping for good combat scenes. Lol
To be fair, when i watched it in theater, most people seemed to be aware that it's for nostalgia and that the movie was in fact pretty hilarious. Is it dumb? Yes. But did I enjoy myself? Also yes. They can't really make a serious movie when the base material (SEED and SEED Destiny) is pretty bad so yeah. Watch it if you want to laugh at something. If you want plot, there's plenty of other gundam series that do it properly.
This is pretty surprising that you are calling out Ukrainian soldiers that are fighting for independence, or even a WW2 US veterans a fanboys, or teenage girls, since Gundam Seed Freedom touches the subjects of how brutal are wars, and war crimes (The Russians are also commited war crimes in Ukraine). But what did you expect from heartless generation that only thinks about itself. Fortunately there are still Americans that truly understand what kind of hell both Ukrainian soldiers, and WW2 US veterans, so God bless those kind of people.
Gundam Seed's MS designs: 👍 Gundam Seed's main story (s1 until movie): 👎🤢🤮 Gundam Seed's Side stories: 👍 Its so ironic that the side stories are better than the main story is pretty much self explanatory.
True though. The side stories are all pretty good. The Cosmic Era setting itself is really interesting. A shame we see so little of it past the timeline.
I will always hold the belief that Stagazer should've been a full length anime series instead of animated shorts. Astray should've also had a full length OVA/Movie instead of shorts.

I know romance in Gundam is kind of a meme but we are like 100 episodes and a movie into this timeline and I still have no idea why Kira and Lacus are a thing. It’s like they put a robot and a plank of wood in a room together and expect them to fall in love. Albeit the movie does the relationship better then the show but still.

I would like to see your takes on Gundam AGE, it is unique compared to other shows, as the premiss follows a family line of 3 generations responding to the same ongoing war. Some people prob would prefer IBO before that, however I would meme that way more as basically Attack On Titan if it were a K-Pop Boy Band....It is not really a Gundam show in my opinion. If you meme SEED as being twilight of the Gundam, IBO is hot dudes go on a road trip through space...
The good things about Seed is its OST (openings and endings), its animation, and the freedom gundam design. I was beginning to rewatch Gundam seed but then I switched to binge rewatching Gundam wing 😝😝😝. It doesn’t have the “there’s good Guys on all sides of the conflict” theme that other Gundam shows have. Char, Trieze, Melliado “Zechs” Peacecraft were antagonists but they weren’t evil. Char went off the rails after his love interest was accidentally killed by the protagonist Amuro. Zechs and Treize wanted to stop blood shed by creating a war so bloody and awful no one would ever try to start a conflict again. In contrast, the Seed antags are actually villains who want to destroy because they are evil. The protagonist are the good guys cause they stop the evil villains. So Seed is like transformers except that the humans are piloting the robots instead of the robots being alive.
This movie was so bad it’s hilarious. Completely insane fanfic levels, it essentially becomes a super robot anime starring the seed cast. I loved it, it’s the epitome of everything wrong with Gundam Seed.
I was cringing so much while watching this movie. It frustrated me so much how stupid the plot is. At least it is somewhat entertaining and the battle scene is quite badass.
Literally the only likable protagonist in the cosmic era is Lowe Guele, and that’s because he isn’t a pretentious, whiny dork. He’s just a guy who’s good at machines and lucked out in finding a kickass mobile suit.

Well, UC takes mechanical design to the next level. The physics, inertia and gravity actually work with an actual feeling of weight on the suits. Seed is like super mc with super robots.

@@salamanderred8148
Agreed, even Barbatos, Gusion, and Flauros got shafted by freaking illegal planet cracking nukes and wasn't left unscathed and they were on the brink of death and destruction.

Kira started coming off as self-righteous after the Alask episode.
Kira imo has the most generic prepubescent voice ever, instead of the 20 year old voice he should have
My favorite part about the Cosmic Eras reputation is that despite its success in Japan relative to other shows, in the crossovers like Dynasty Warriors and Super robot wars the other characters actively *make fun* of Kira. Master Asia calls him a brat who’s carried by his Gundam cause he has no real skill and the super robot wars characters call him out for his BS and praise Shinn. It’s like the games were made by critics of seed but they knew the series was too popular to not add in

You are correct.

I AM NOT A LIL TEENAGE GIRL 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Fire vid🔥

Yeah, I remember there being a lot of things with it about how a chunk of it was that the development of the Coordinators meant that Newtypes wouldn't be fully developing in the aftermath, especially with the massacres where anyone that was a half decent pilot was likely dead already by the end of SEED.

My favorite part of this movie: The reveal that you can do gene therapy to become a coordinator post-birth. Bravo, Fukuda. Bravo.
As someone who is not a Seed fan I did enjoy this movie for being fun in a trashy way.
That being said…
While I am glad that Shinn got a good showing at the end, the rest of the movie treats him like a joke.

Agreed 100%
I fully admit the characters and plot line are terrible. BUT, I like some of the Mecha design, which is the only reason I watched. Hoping for good combat scenes. Lol
The astray line is one of my favorites, including the duel and strike nior other than that everything else in mid
This may be out off the topic but I hope the next A.U Gundam will be made by Armored Core V people.
Woo thanks for getting this back up! Great video!
Cheers!
Can you also look into doing Aldnoah Zero, an underrated show that needs more people to watch it.
Don't give half a shit about SEED but my god the Gyan Strom is one of the coolest redesigns of the Gyan ever. Fucking love it.
Bruh don't put seed in the same tier as Inuyasha. That story actually has characters and not cardboard cutouts lol
I like it. But it's just my cope since I hated gwitch and I want to forget about it instantly.
Go rewatch Wing, or G Gundam, aka good Gundam shows.
@@draconus999wing has it's own share of issues and g gundam is a sfar from conventional gundam as youget, it is not for everyone
@@draconus999 wing is mid....
Gundam Seed's MS designs: 👍
Gundam Seed's main story (s1 until movie): 👎🤢🤮
Gundam Seed's Side stories: 👍
Its so ironic that the side stories are better than the main story is pretty much self explanatory.
@@akhdannaufaldy1693 I always liked the mech designs and the soundtrack to Seed but everything else is..... meh
@@akhdannaufaldy1693 Lowe Gear and the junk Guild worked because Judau and his homies from Double Zeta sat the bar.
@@janarcangel49 oh no! That would actually introduce brainrot SEED fans to decent characters developments! How can Bandai then make money off their stunted growth and degeneracy?
I had fun, it was dumb but fun
Wing fan (derogatory)
they're call "wingers".
@@wanderingthedesert5599”wingers” 😭🙏
Don't know bro :( but as seed fans this film is make me little dissappoint :(
The concept is good.. they should be able to make this film more better..
As a Seed fan, the movie was peak but I knew a lot of people gonna hate the movie lol
Peak fan service
Oh, no, not the NTR, those fiends!
"Did no one ask!"
"Yes"
This is without even watching the video.
Because they were the avatars of fukuda and his late wife
@@CursedShinobiClown they're a thing basically because they found themselves fond of each other after finding their wishes regarding their status as people that are involved in a conflict that they don't want to take part in but still need to be on it are basically the same, Kira doesn't wants to fight but forces himself to do so, Lacus doesn't wants to be a leader or to tell people in general what to do Yet it's ZAFT's main idol and later leader of the 3 ship alliance, because of that they found that they could be vulnerable with each other and you know, stuff. Something super interesting Is that fukuda describes it as "they skipped the "Lovers" phase and became a family"
Edit: oh, I also forgot to mention that they Also talk a Lot about conflict the Time they're with each other and some personal stuff
@@jeevas868 oh wow an actual argument and explanation thank you
I'm not gonna lie. I loved seed and yes i admit the romance in it was part of my love and yes i admit im a lil teen girl deep down
I'm so glad I didn't watch this. I saw Lacus floating into the Freedom with a pretty space suit and I was like: Nah. This ain't for me. LOL
I went hell yeah
I've never seen her going out to battles like that and not stay in the ship
How the crap is the justice in a zgok?
I would like to see your takes on Gundam AGE, it is unique compared to other shows, as the premiss follows a family line of 3 generations responding to the same ongoing war. Some people prob would prefer IBO before that, however I would meme that way more as basically Attack On Titan if it were a K-Pop Boy Band....It is not really a Gundam show in my opinion. If you meme SEED as being twilight of the Gundam, IBO is hot dudes go on a road trip through space...
Athrun is a big fan of Cagali and Kirby Air ride.
That's why seed villains are boring.
Can u do a neo zeon war video
We will definitely do that in the future!
The original seed was fine honestly, everything after that...not so much. Except astray
Stella turning into a Giant Ghostbusters Monster in a Newtype Flash was kinda stupid.
Literally the only likable protagonist in the cosmic era is Lowe Guele, and that’s because he isn’t a pretentious, whiny dork. He’s just a guy who’s good at machines and lucked out in finding a kickass mobile suit.
Lowe is the GOAT
@@Shinnasuka73he really is. And the Red Frame kicks ass.
@@brianwalsh1339 fr, i may love shinn and think he was done dirty in the 2nd half of destiny and seed freedom but lowe is just the goat man
@@Shinnasuka73it’s sad when the dude who, outside of his expertise with machines, is basically a normal dude is the best part of a fuckin sci-fi series.
What about Sven and Selene from Stargazer?
It should have been a love letter to OG fans who are now in their 30s at least. Cut out all the forced drama situations and give us slice of life updates for the established characters.
The fights should have been more tactical and slower paced than just power and multi targeting winning the day. I've been bored of the nuclear powered machine destroying everything after it was first used in S1.
can we talk about the female faces
Bro at the start Lacus looks so ugly.
They did my girl luna dirty 😭🙏
It's like they have gotten fatter or had several shots of Botox. Seriously, who redesigned these characters?
So bad it's good sounds like an accurate description of this film lol.
Whats worse is fukuda is now directing the new grendizer anime so now hes disgracing go nagai 💀
He can’t keep getting away with this!

Surprised they didn't off him the first time honestly 😂
Narratively right or not, you don't touch Japan's darlings and get away unscathed usually.

I loved Seed and destiny but Seed Freedom was beyond horrible. It felt like i was watching a netorare comedy peice which was not funny. I had to force myself to finish the movie. It was a real struggle.
Idk man I think the movie is pretty self-aware when they put in a whole ass z-gok that breaks apart and turns into I.Justice 😂😂😂
Blonde space H*tler did find someone who loved him... and that was the sword of Kira Yamato's gundam ofcourse.
I thought rhe Freedom movie helped Gundam SEED step up.
I'm on board for SEED slander but leave McDonalds burgers out of it...
To quote History of Everything:
And then, it got worse. Somehow.
We're getting a prequel to this, yet no word on a crossbone anime or even urdr hunt 😂
