BRUH… to be honest that doesn’t even make sense. How much do you want the children to get injured? I ride a school bus and if the seats for uncrewed, then it would be flying if you guess what I could get killed with my sister. dummy
Really huge bus accidents like demonstrated here are sort of rare. REAL excessive speeding and or being hit at extreme speeds by dump trucks can cause catastrophic damage too. Fortunately most of the accidents are minor slow speed incidents from distracted drivers on their cell phones and jerks going through RED LIGHTS when the bus is picking up or drop off students. Buses used for PRE-K DO HAVE seat belts and monitors. These little guys do not understand how to stay seated on a school bus
I do see what you're saying. It is a rare event but if I recall correctly, a speeding car did overturn a bus. Just a few months ago I witnessed right in front of me a car not even slowing down at a red light smashing hard into numerous cars that had the green light. In about another second, that would have been me getting hit. Now that I drive pre K, they are finally giving me a newer bus with the 5-point belts. The regular belts for that size child are not that great and they slip out of them easily by intention or just falling asleep to the side. No matter what, in a head-on collision even with the good belts, to me I'd rather have no belt because of the severe neck strain as opposed to hitting flat against the cushion in front of you. In a rollover or side hit though, the seat belts make sense.
The only downside with 50 children and seatbelts is that they will slow down the evacuation process in a state of an emergency. You have to train students on how to buckle and unbuckle the belts during bus evacuation drills, so in the event of a real one, the evacuation isn't slowed or halted because a kid or two cant unbuckle. A simple one button push design can make it easier for children to use. Im all in favor of seatbelts on school buses. When I was in middle school, my bus had the over the waist ones. And I also remember her promising to take us on the speedbumps if we all wore them and behaved. Awesome bus driver. Ah, those were the days!
Honestly I’m all for safety but in the case of a accident and a fire with only the driver as the adult with 60+ little ones that don’t understand the urgency of getting out of the seat belt because of danger really scares me but with the way things are now I’m afraid buses need them now people are starting to get worse with their driving distraction is at an all time high
The Driver will be held accountable for every student..... NOPE ain't worth that SHIT pay.... Parents..... IF YOU really care....DRIVE YOUR kids 2 School
Not only is the pay nowhere near enough but you have to work a split shift (morning pick up and afternoon dropoff) plus new hires usually are on call and need to be ready to work with short notice ! I was going to drive but after the details I said absolutely not !

It's not entirely about expense belts only work when used properly how is the driver supposed to make sure they're being used properly? Plus let's say the bus is on fire and some of the students are stuck in their belts your can only cut belts so fast and you literally have seconds to get them out seat belts are unnecessary on busses and a possible hazard. Would you like to be the parent who is told if they could have gotten out sooner they would have lived but they were trapped in the seat belt? Yes in some situations belts would save but only if used properly and in some situations they could prove deadly. Use your brains people it's not about the money entirely it's about practicality.
Show kids this video and others. Teach them to press a button on the seatbelt release. They will have plenty of practice daily when using the bus. It's a better chance than the alternative of having kids slamming around in the bus possibly being injured worse. Also before driver picks up kids, remind them to put seatbelts on. If kids refuse, notify school leadership so the parents can be informed.
NO! We should go the opposite direction! We should unscrew the seats . . . leave them in there with the kids, just unscrewed.
What?

It's rare to get in a car accident but it does happen.
Show the kids this video as to why it's important to buckle up.

Yep. Teach them to push the button.
In the new 2021 school buses they have seatbelts
I have a bus from 2013 tho 👁️👄👁️
My school bus doesn't.
Broken eye socket is better than being dead
Feel bad for the kid who had a broken eye socket😭😔☹️😢😥😩😞😓😱😿🙊💔💦🙏!
Bro you didn’t even know his name ?
Does anybody ever think about a bus getting stuck on a train track with seat belts...?
I love school buses. It's a shame when they get broken...

That's good common sense speaking, a bus burns up within seconds, not to mention an EV one...
You can't just chalk it up to seat belt legislation, there needs to be better operator screening and defensive driver training as well...
The body slid forward off the of the frame. WHY
Because that's how they always have been built, you should look up real crashes...
so just don't take the school bus off the ramps at the skatepark then
Yeah or be in an accident having them flip over from a multitude of things. But it happens.
Wouldn’t catch me dead demonstrating a crash hell no I’m a big baby lol but I get why it has to be done
Right wow
Thomas built buses is w
Not school bus en sipat
What A Dummy Slammers in School Bus Crash Ha!

I wish I can do that in BeamNG Drive with a bus mod lol
BeamNG shit.
Seat belts in buses creates a death trap.
Nope. Teach them to push one button.

Classic typical Spiderman bullcrap just use emergency magnetic release like fire alarms or stuff on planes.
