I'm not really in to dolls but my sister was watching this and we decided you can do all of this WITHOUT the boiling water and those other heat products. Just use warm water or kinda hot water and use the bobby pins and straws like this. It will take a while to dry but it will be worth it. It's a lot better than risking to melt your favorite doll's hair and/or face for something as little as this.
+Kitty Gaming Regardless, it's dangerous because you can damage the fibers beyond repair if even the lowest setting. If you INSIST on using a flat iron, at least use a hand towel or wash cloth so you're not directly applying heat to the hair. Or try the boiling method.
This is GREAT! I'm not brave enough to use heat on Monster High hair because it's synthetic and easy to melt, but if you're careful it works wonders. Some advice no one asked for: If you're trying to curl long hair and want a little more control, start by wetting the hair, separating the hair by layers and picking a strand, placing the straw against the scalp and pinning a strand to it, curl the strand all the way down the straw and pin it again at the bottom. That's two pins and one straw for each strand. It takes a lot more time but it's much easier to pick the style and direction you want that way. Letting the strands air-dry before removing the pins gives each curl more body. This works wonders on dolls like Dawn of the Dance Lagoona! Happy customizing, everyone
Thank you! I tried this on my Ever after high doll and it worked! The only thing I did differently was that I left the straws in her hair over night, it came out beautifully! Thanks again
Use heat protectant and do it on damp hair with lowest temperature, that was what I did on my little sister's dolls when she wanted to straighten their hair
I tried this on my Lorna doll. But! I dint take the head off and I didn't dip it in boiling water, I just used normal water, and I didn't use a flat iron. And I waited about 5 hours and it dried. I also did one over night with same results. It was perfect. And I just went with the easy method. So this is a kinda "bad" tutorial. No hate...
My friend wanted to do it to her monster high doll and it is not working we followed everything perfectly we did it twice we are now doing Afro curls with out any for the HOT products. Watch dollightfuls videos she knows how to do it correctly
Thanks for the tutorial! I used this to make a custom Clawdeen dressed as Beast from Black Butler: Book of Circus! It turned out gorgeous! Thanks gurl!
Your videos are interesting, but my OCD had spotted a food/gunk like substance on the straw shown at the start of this video. Which makes me cringe, am I the only one?
I would like to add if using a flat iron… place wax paper as a barrier. Even low setting flat irons at 360 degrees can melt hair. I learned from experience. Thank you for the video. Beautiful job! ❤
Not to be a hater you failed BIG time you got to use hot water and cold water and it's better to dip the head under hot water and use a towel and softly pulling your dolls head "so you can put it on with easy back on" and when I did your way 100% it's melted my doll's HEAD!! 😱😭 (RIP doll I got on Birthday today!)!!!!!!
fairyocean19 FO19 it’s not his fault you had your dolls head under the water for too long, plus it’s your fault it was your decision anyway. You didn’t have to do it.
I think that it's cool that a boy likes dolls, he will inspire other boys to be themselves and guess what im going on to a teenager and i will like dolls still, so haters go hate yourself for hating on this boys video he is amazing =) So be yourself
Some of these steps seem a bit odd. The boiling water alone will set the curls once you dunk the head and leave it to dry. Also, anyone who uses the hairdryer method, be careful with it because if it's too hot and it can cause the hair to get frizzy. The hair spray should really be used after its dry if you plan to use it in order to set the hair, but you don't really need to. the boiling water will hold the curl for a long time. And the hot iron with the plastic straws doesn't seem like a good idea because of melting and ruining the doll hair. I have done the boil method plenty of times and you really only need the water, straws, and bobby-pins, which I never thought of using two of them and I am so going to try that next time. Just wanted to pop my experience results to help add to this tutorial. I loved the afterwards, she got some really nice curls.
instead of collecting these dolls I recommend joining the bjd dolls hobby. They are better in every single way just a bit more expensive. If you're really interested in dolls I strongly recommend ball jointed dolls
Starlight Jaci if yo would have said "hey have you heard about bjd's? you should look into them" that would have been a recommendation. not "instead of collecting these dolls"
you want to do near boiling water... too hot will melt it... and dunking it in cold water after can help the plastic bind and hold shape... dunking it in hot and cold a few times helps solidify curls... remember not too hot!
Funny thing is: I do this with my own hair. I use pencils, though lol. My hair is really weird. I can flat iron my hair to make it straight and it will stay like that for as long as I don't wash it.
You shouldn't use a flat iron or a blow drier on synthetic hair, the heat can become too intense and melt the hair. On the back of most doll packaging and synthetic re-rooting hair to not iron or blow dry. Hot water is normally safe but always check your manufactures label.
“To tell if the water is boiling make sure there is bubbles coming out” 😂

Izzie Mongoven i do this the same
Izzie Mongoven I do that

Izzie Mongoven
Izzie Mongoven actually, boiling is safe. What isn’t safe is the flat iron.
Wow. Do NOT use flat irons or hot irons on synthetic hair!!!Especially directly like that!!! Oh, my God!!!
He said it was optional AND to use it on the lowest setting.

Use heat protectant and do it on damp hair with lowest temperature, that was what I did on my little sister's dolls when she wanted to straighten their hair

Simply Nailogical is stupid and trendy.
@@presleygazaway7164 she isnt stupid
I remember this channel I used to love watching you last video I saw by you was that bratz whats up video!
do you think this could work with real hair
it does
just don't remove your head :D
+Denise Marshian XD
But do not Put your head in boiling water
dampen your hair with a spray bottle, put the straws in & sleep in it over night.
I think that it's cool that a boy likes dolls, he will inspire other boys to be themselves and guess what im going on to a teenager and i will like dolls still, so haters go hate yourself for hating on this boys video he is amazing =) So be yourself
And a curling iron wouldn't have worked?...
It can burn doll hair and make it singed and even fall out

instead of collecting these dolls I recommend joining the bjd dolls hobby. They are better in every single way just a bit more expensive. If you're really interested in dolls I strongly recommend ball jointed dolls
Starlight Jaci maybe some people don't like BJD's how about letting him collect whatever dolls he likes
why are you so upset XD tf I just gave a recommendation
Starlight Jaci if yo would have said "hey have you heard about bjd's? you should look into them" that would have been a recommendation. not "instead of collecting these dolls"
Maybe you missed the fact Starlight Jaci said, "I RECOMMEND." That was a VERY important detail.
Vandala doubloons looks good
u made a really bad job lol

WOOWWWWW SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!💕💕💕

Voice goals
This was uploaded on my birthday (December 4th)
wow it came out really nice i did this like 4 years ago and i forgot the steps haha
I tried it and it worked really good
I would recommend the hot iron/blow dryer for those who have experience with doll's hair. While it isn't the best option, it can do the job.
You go boy! You did a beautiful job. :P
nice job looks good! I tried it on my vandela and it looked good!
this is really great the dolls hair gets so nappy we are going to try this. 😎
Omg i love you already your voice is so pretty im subscribing right away
