- Hello, everyone! I have a real special treat for you guys. I've been working on this video since December of last year, and one of the hardest parts has been to condense all of this video down to 5 minutes! So thankfully I did it, and now it's something that I haven't seen on TH-cam for a long time, a matted doll hair transformation. It's JUST a hair transformation since I didn't have any true full makeover plans for this doll. We've all been mostly at home for the past few months, and a lot of parents have probably seen matted doll heads for the past few months as well. But at the same time with all that's been going on, it's not a wise idea to use all of your fabric softener on anything other than clothes. So I hope that anyone who has this problem gives this soaking method a shot!

you did well on that doll the longer you work on a dolls hair the better. i loved that you got all the tangles out by hand .. ripping tangles out with a brush just makes it worse ..
Thanks so much! Yep, I've ripped out the tangles with a brush before. Your doll will end up with a lot of bald spots afterwards. It's not worth it.

What can we use instead of detangling spray??
I haven't always used detangling spray, (though it does work best,) but before that, I used to use a spray bottle with warm water and conditioner, shake it, and it detangles fairly well. Sorry for my late response, hope that helps.
My doll is extremely matted, I don't think this process will help... can you give any remedy on this situation?
Have you tried yet? I thought mine was going to be impossible to detangle as well, but with a bit of patience, the process worked. The biggest tip I can offer you is to begin the detangling on dry hair, not wet. The same can be said for human hair, once the hair is wet, it's much harder to detangle. You may consider cutting off the bigger knots/mats as well. I chose not to cut a lot so it could still be nice and long, but cutting would definitely be helpful. I wish you the best, let me know how it goes!

Yeah, I actually have another Our Generation doll that has tangly hair as this one had. Strange!
Nice job! Did you figure out how to remove all the frizz? While the final result is combable, it is far too thick to maintain realistic usability by tomorrow's view.
It went away naturally after the whole process of soaking, etc. Lots of frizz is on the bottom still as is noticeable at the end, but I chose not to cut it off.
After i was done combing through all the hair, I microwaved water for 1min and 30 sec then poured it over the dolls hairthen quickly combed through it. Now she is air drying until morning then I will come back and let you know how it has dried😊

@@aprilturner2974 ok I'm currently trying it, but does the frizz go away? Does the frizz become less or does the frizz on the hairs end stay frizzed, if so, how do I get rid of the frizz? I heard you can get rid of frizz with a hair straightener but I don't have one and was wondering if there are any other ways to get rid of the frizz without cutting it

can this work of porcelain doll hair/ wigs
Hi. I've always done this method on regular 18 inch dolls, so I've never tried this on a porcelain doll. Most porcelain dolls have really curly hair, so I would say if you're okay with possibly losing the curls, I would say go for it. Just keep in mind that hair *will* come out, so there's also a possibility of the doll hair/wig not being as full as before.

Suggestion: look for fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
