@@adrianbs7a yeah many people immediately hate on a band for doing anything different, which would be considered "wrong" to some of them. I'd like to ask them to write something just as great and try to perform it as well!
If this song would have been created by Steven Wilson could be easily called a masterpiece. But was written by Dave Mustaine and he got a huge backlash for not being metal enough. Cool song with some Porcupine Tree vibes.
I'll Be There and Wanderlust are the two greatest songs on this album. Seven and Ecstacy are damn good, too. All they needed to do was put a disclaimer sticker on the album saying "Not Thrash--Something Different". I like this album just fine.

Risk had some amazing songwriting, in a way it was to Megadeth what Load and ReLoad were to Metallica. Solid production, great and diverse songwriting, just marred by their wide deviation from what the fan base would expect.
amazing song from an amazing album - incredibly melodic with probably best Dave's vocals in his career. This album is certainly not for people who are stuck in the paradigm of the classic metal - this is for people who can appreciate other genres too. I always have a huge respect for artists who are not afraid to try something new. This song is a confirmation that Dave is an incredible songwriter. Risk Forever!
Have you noticed the remaster is slightly higher pitched? I found that strange. They did the same thing with The Doctor is Calling, and maybe a few other songs from Risk.
Have to admit I've overlooked this song for many years. After a good listening to this version and the remastered - I favor this version but both are great. Kinda like vortex on the cryptic album was overlooked but after the remastered cd came out with the detuned version with alternate lyrics I realized what a gem of a song vortex was!
Cryptic Writings to me is the ultimate unsung Megadeth album. Vortex is so fucking amazing. FFF is so good too! Secret place for that slower vibe. and TRUST!! Really such a killer album.
This song and while we're at it this entire album was not given the credit it was due, when it came out!!! Sure, the song Risk got played a lot. Even heard Motopsycho once or twice on the radio. But nothing compares to this song in particular. This one and Breadline... *Edit: my bad. I got to thinking about The World Needs A Hero album. Always get those two albums confused because it was a chaotic time in my life back then. But those who albums alone, they got me through it. Especially Wanderlust...
This song is the self portrait of the protagonist of megadeth. Dave its the outcast, he is the fastes gunmen/guitarist he knows, and he calls other gunmens/guitarists CLOWNS! Based on his behaviors, this song relate somehow. And in the end he calls his judgment day
First time listening to this and it's a pretty good album, in fairness. I much prefer it to Metallica's Load and Reload albums anyway. If only it didn't have the name Megadeth associated with it, it would be much more appreciated. Shud-ha, Wud-ha, Cud-ha. I will listen to it again though
@@LordZebraif you can’t hear that this sounds very similar to the type of songs on Jon Bon Jovi’s “Blaze Of Glory” album then you clearly have never listened to that album.

@@Setnochima Don't forget Baby Dream in Cellophane by Porcuptine Tree, though that was a coincidence since they were released around the same time
My favorite song from Risk. Risk isn’t bad, it’s just different and I can appreciate that.
People don't want musician to evolute and create different things. We can't aprecciate this like a thrash album lol

One of my favorite songs by Dave! Fucking original and kicks ass!
Dude I just thought about that, i agree 100% but its a great song regardless
I'll stand up, as a card-carrying Metallica fan, and say this is the best metal song I've ever heard. It really is a masterpiece.
It`s very `Wanted Dead or ALive` in a good way
Who's Steven wilson
this album aged like fine wine.

Not thrash? What about "Prince of Darkness" and "Time: The End"?!!!!
Just because it's not metal doesn't change the fact that this song is great.
I love songs about westerns, and the OG version has that badass solo in it

His singing voice was its peak in Youthanasia. Not to take anything away from Risk
If you don't care for a MEGADETH song, just come back to it And you will!
Man this is better than the remaster! \,,/

Also, backing vocals are much louder on the remaster... but, I feel that the lead vocal sounds much better on the non-remastered version
I agree.
Remaster stuff sucks. The original is the real deal, all the way.
Agreed
Has the blaze of glory and dead or alive feel, with a nice hint of stardust woman and break the chain. Loooove this song, love this album!
Adam Webster truly poetic brother!
Sounds just like dead or alive
Sounds exactly like dead or alive with I’ll be there for you intro
This is such a good album.
Very Lyndsay Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood sounding. Listened to "The Chain" today and this song popped into my head.
Totally hear that now! 02:41 for sure
Best song on the whole album!
If there’s any song from Risk I wish they’d bring back into their live set it’s this one. One of my top favorite Megadeth tunes
Even if it's a lighter megadeth album, a lot of the songs still feel heavy.
Love Risk. Purchased on CD day one and have enjoyed it ever since. Prefer the original over remastered
AGREED! Same here! Love this album! FAR AWAY BETTER THAN Super Collider and 13! IMO!
Reminds me of the first Dark Tower book Gunslinger. Goes into this one town and shoots down at least a dozen clowns
Dude, the first time that i listen to this song i was reading the Dark Tower, and it blew my mind how perfect it fits for the gunslinger theme.
2:41 What a feeling 😊
For me it is 4:29 till the end
Una de las mejores canciones que escuché en toda mi vida. Obra maestra de la música.
this is megadeths outlaw torn, and its hard to say which i like better
Exactly man... Very deep and dark songs.. Shows the talent of both James and Dave that they can write different types of amazing songs.
Yeah..
Wish they ventured more with this kind of sound. I loved the two big loads Metallica gave us and the risk Megadeth took.
Best song on Risk, along with Prince Of Darkness and Insomnia, but this song feels like Megadeth version of Outlaw Torn or Bleeding Me.
I thought that too. Risk, & then Load by Metallica are underrated imo. They’ve not been given a chance when there’s gems on both albums.
Unfortunately metal heads will shit on anything that isn’t metal.
AND IF I CLOSE MY MIND IN FEAR
The beginning is the same as Ill be there for you of BonJovi. The rest of the song has a Wanted dead or alive vibe.
I think I found a new favorite.
😥 recuerdos de infancia que discaso.
A mí también me recuerda a mi infancia no sé por qué, como si lo hubiese escuchado en la tele o algo así.

The production is spot on!
The only thing that this song lacks is COWBELL!!!!!!!! MEGADETH RULES!!!!!!!
The pull-off riff in the verse reminds me of "Gold Dust Woman" by Fleetwood Mac.
Such a masterpiece!
I've only listened to the remixed versions of Risk, i liked it. And i like this too.
