does the 81-90 in mop using treasures depend on having that 50% xp boost of monk, tank/healer spamming Dungeons or can a dps, non-monk get through without questing in that leveling bracket if you do treasures, rares, and dungeon que-ing?
The treasures exp is actually not affected by the mop buff so u won’t notice a change in exp except when doing a dungeon. U would just have to do some extra dungeons
how do you set your XP bar to show %? Also, there's not a lot of treasures in pandaria! I can see like 20 of them on the entire continent. Are they really worth it that much? I think I found some treasures that weren't in handynotes, it made me think that the addon is not complete or something...

It would be much nicer if you only had to go there once and do a quest or something to make the xp buff permanent for the duration of that darkmoon faire. It's incredibly annoying as well that the buff disappears if you die.
If your goal is the least time /played, rather than the least real life time, you should probably actually build stables over top of the barracks as soon as you can. Then just log out and wait for it to finish, so you can pick up treasures without landing. If you're doing treasures and bonus objectives to level, you should easily have enough order hall resources to do this, not to mention you'll gain some back while you're logged out waiting for it to finish.
The quest that gives enlightenment also is based on level, not mentioned on the vid. So, if you start at lv 20, you get the quest, and every 10 levels you can get another hour of the buff without waiting for the next day
dont know if anyone already mentioned, but you cant get the versatility trinket heirloom from the auctionhouse. it's in a bag that can only be traded from player to player

Jburtonsemo yeah! Also, when I was leveling my nightborne monk through the 20-30 bracket, I queued as mistweaver and still had (relatively) instant queues, so if you absolutely despise brewmaster like I do, you can still have a way to queue quickly
True that! Yeah as long as those queues are quick that is viable for sure! But only downside is most of the times tanks determine the speed of the dungeon run. Some like to be cautious and some like to pull every single mob from every single room of every single corridor lol. Those tanks make me a sad man
Hey Lad, i just wanted to give you a quick tip :D Pick Herbalism if ur a DPS only class for herbing while questing, it gives you 1189 XP for each Plant you herb with 45% XP Gain ;)
Heres a tip I use in legion, as a solo player. People often buy level 101 or Geared 110 boosts through legion normal dungeons. If you just queue for random legion dungeon whilst leveling, and you get in and theres no twink/geared 110. Just leave and continue on, if there is someone getting carried - stay. As it's far more efficient than questing. Last time I leveled my horde shaman I got 4 seperate "free" dungeon boosts back to back taking me through 106-107 in -20minutes and I didnt have to spend any gold. If you get unlucky your leveling speed/efficiency is only effected by maybe 5-10 seconds every 30 minutes. Obviously don't do this if you are near to the end of a zone and actually need a specific dungeon for a quest. But it's just something no one on my btag/guild really ever thought about doing so I thought I would spread the word as I often get asked how I level so quick.
So you basically leave 4 people behind if it isn't a carry run to wait for another person to fill the group. Even if it only takes a few minutes you're somehow wasting other people's time this way which isn't such a nice thing, I believe.
The Zandalari classes are placeholders, we don't actually know what classes they'll have. Originally, Dark Irons had a placeholder list as well, that included Death Knight, but didn't include Priest, Paladin or Shaman, which they have.
The Monk buff works on completing quest and killing mobs. it does NOT work with completing dungeons.....However doing the quests in the dungeons in work with, so just doing hellfire ramparts is not very fast. it will take 3-4 runs for a lvl. So what i would recommend is go to the other dungeons and do the quest. Ehm......Legion invasions....you can't do the end senario before lvl 110, unless they changed that.
Oh man, Jburton. I think blizzard may have messed with your leveling guide. Stratholme gave me half a bar for one clear on a level 41, no exp buffs. I killed all the bosses and dragged as many mobs as possible as close as possible to my carry as possible because it gave me an extra level to do so and still just half a bar. Pretty attocious. May have killed any of the carrying parts but perhaps it'll be fixed when the stat squish is tweaked? Durno.
Question, so I know the enlightenment buff changes to mastery at level 90. If I have 24 hours stacked up and ding 90 will I be able to keep the XP buff or will it switch to mastery instead?
Everything makes sense but just one note. You cannot complete the scenario during the invasion unless 110.. but yes, the exp is excellent from invasions
I leveled all allied races to 110 (sadly no achievement) and in the end we noticed that carried in Iron Docks from 90-101 works very fine also. Just like the other dungeons, just stay at the entrance. The 110 running from boss to boss (ignoring rest, they will follow and when stacked up die very fast) and within couple of minutes dungeon done. Ofcourse treasure hunting is a one click xp, but the bonus objectives are not (most of the time even including bit harder mob kill). So even if nerfed, carried by a 110 from 20 to 110 is still the fastes. Unless you have a 5 person group in same level range, and spam dungeons, then they mob kills in the dungeons count as normal (not 110 nerfed then ofcourse).
I never tried iron docks. That’s interesting, thanks for sharing that! :) and maybe u will get the achievement for allied races when all the planned bfa races release and get leveled up. I’ll have to give that iron socks method a try
Does the lower Karazhan method still work? I'm there now on a level 71 Paladin and I'm finding it fairly difficult. Unless something massive changes with the scaling at level 73, I feel like they may have "fixed" it in typical Blizzard fashion. Edit: In any case, this is an amazing guide! Very concise and helpful. Yeah specifically at 73 it gets much much easier. It’s strange lol but even at 72 it’s a big rough. When u hit 73 u will be amazed at how fast u will hit lvl 81 :)
I'm playing a priest, not a monk - is quick running ramparts from 60-73 still viable with out the monk buff? if not, whats the fastest alternate leveling from 60-73?
If you're burnt out from all the dungeon grinding I suggest you pick up herbalism, mining and archeology, and go a relaxing adventure and do some petbattles while you're at it.
Are you able to get heritage armor when BFA launches? Someone told me you only can get their heritage armor if you level from 20-110 in prepurchase and not when it launches
I just leveled my alt to 102. After clearing all available invasion world quests in Azsuna, I didn't see any scenario popped up. Is the ending scenario only available for 110s?
Quick question, since it's clear you've done a lot of these. With an efficient run from 1 to 110, assuming minimal interruptions and a monk bonus, what is a character's /played going to look like when they first ding 110? What is an estimated /played for a race that cannot be a monk?
Sadly I been trying to work on this but haven’t had time. My research is on many many characters in various leveling brackets. I am currently working on this though because it’s a popular question. Just for starters, my void elf rogue I just made is lvl 55 with 7.5 hours played, but the leveling between 60 and 81 will go super fast then slow down
Void Elf Monk, currently level 81 (just done with Kara). Taking a couple of days break to stack on a few monk buffs before continuing to Pandaland. Time played is 12 hours and 5 seconds. However, at least 3 of those hours are straight up "wasted" as i started leveling normally, did large parts of Westfall and all of Duskwood in the "normal" manner.. i started "quick leveling", or power leveling or what you want to call it after level 30 (33 or 34 i think). By quick leveling i mean boosting with my second account :)
After u unlock world quests on ur main u r able to do legion invasions when they spawn. U can for sure do them without flying, no problem there. May take a bit longer but no biggie. Let me no if ur having any other issues :)

Ill give this a try, after 13 years of playing, old questing zones are not something i hold in a very high regard, to say the least. But really want the nightborne heritage armor ;p, plus ive currently staked the enlightenment buff to 24 hours...seems to be the limit, would go up to a month otherwise.
I feel u on that! One note i messed up on. In pandaria the treasures have nerfed exp so either jade forest questing or getting carried in a dungeon perhaps. One person recommended farming firelands trash. Still need further testing lol but yeah 81-90 needs refinement on my part
So I'm working through this guide and I'm currently struggling in the 60-73 bracket, I've resolved to killing all the mobs like regular max level questing and using no speed boosts and I'm still hitting the hour lock out. Tempted to go between this and blood furnace to help extend the time... Getting locked out every twenty mintues for fourty minutes really kills my runs xP
The downside to this is that mobs give nearly no exp when a high level is in the dungeon. Most of the exp comes from completing the dungeon. I recommend quickly hitting ur 10 run lock-out and quest in hellfire for around an hour from the first time you entered the dungeon and repeat if you a absolutely want to keep leveling after hitting the lockout
I may try that. The problem is my lowbies have a busy life so I'm doing most of the carry alone so I've done four of ramparts and then swapped over to blood furnace and since it's a bit longer with annoying mobs to smack it seems to have helped me avoid the lock out.)
Dude not only kara. But because the way the levels scale. You can do heroics in hellfire and do the rounds. Easy solo and more exp. Get 60 to 70% of 73 in 1 run of hellfire ramparts.
Absolutely. As u hit level 73 the mobs will do much less damage to u and u will do a lot to them. For some reason 73 is the magic number. But yes absolutely make sure u do this solo :)
Oh no! Lol yeah ramparts is very boring!!! And pre-73 Kara will do that lol! Someone mentioned they were able to do it on their rogue at 71. That sounded super difficult
if i unlock heritage armor: 1.can i wear them on other characters? 2.can i war them on other max lvl characters of the same species i didnt level (e.g. racechang....)
That’s an interesting idea but if the twins is over 10ish levels higher than the alt then the alt would get little exp off the mobs (even tho end of dungeon experience is what really counts) but yeah I honestly don’t have a good answer cuz I’ve never tried this lol but it would quality towards getting the heritage armor tho
The translator on YT is horrible, on german it translates the title to "WoW: Wie auf Ebene der Allierten Rennen so schnell wie möglich (Heritage Armor)", which means as much as "WoW: How on Floor of the allied race(race as in running) as fast as possible (Heritage Armor)".
I just found all treasures in Pandaria and did 2 dungeons in the meantime, i only hit 83 and then quested super difficult quests to lvl 84. Any tips on how to survive Pandaria?
I had forgotten they had been nerfed some. Questing in Hyjal or jade forest may actually be a better option especially if ur a monk with enlightenment buff. Some of the mop treasures still give a decent bit of exp, like 44k but many give a low amount
My only wish is that heritage armor was account wide for any of that race. Last I heard from someone who leveled and boosted you have to earn them by leveling on each individual.
Stefanie yeah I just found out that the person who told me this was just experiencing a bug. I guess when they first came out if you race changed and then leveled one the race changed one wasn't getting it. They got it corrected.
Am I missing something? Unless you want to play a monk at max level, what is the actual purpose of leveling a monk for the heritage armor? Wouldn't it make sense if you leveled the class you wanted to play, instead of leveling a monk for "speed" just to reroll and level the class? Unless you plan on spending money to race change, but why, when you still have to put effort into leveling in the first place?
Ur more than welcome to unlock your heritage armor anyway you please. With how long the game has been out there are a lot of people who have every class at max level, so class really doesn’t matter. For example I have 16 110’s spread out between horde and alliance. If you are one of the players who don’t have every class at max level then obviously you pick a class that u still need at max level.
make sure u have HandyNotes, HandyNotes_DraenorTreasures and HandyNotes - Pandaria Treasures. I do want to note that pandaria treasure exp has been nerfed sadly. If you can get a carry through Lost city of tol'vir till level 90 that would be best otherwise questing in Hyjal or Jade is prolly the next best route sadly. 81-90 is pretty rough
One main question i have is with prepatch around the corner will the number crunch ruin the path for this and make it so youd have to find a different route or will it help it?
The only thing affected (which is a big deal tho) is that as if right now, the karazhan trash farm method from 73-81 won’t work. I did a video about testing out at 73 but because of the scaling the mobs are too hard. It may doable at like 77-78 maybe but idk. Hoping the scaling gets fixed a bit before launch.
I'm subbing off this video. I've been struggling since the new races came out. I'm leveling with two people that have fairly strict schedules. We're trying to create a solid gaming window and while they are both interested my depressions say: Nah, I'll pass. (It makes me sleepy when its something 'boring' even if I'm motivated to do it.) I'm hoping have a definitive goal and strategy will help. (Ironically two of us are monks.)
The only problem with tanking as a Monk is its lack of AoE compared to to others, until lvl 90 for RJW - only having KS early on is just, awkward, and BoF doesn't help a whole lot.
It's the comparative lack of AoE that causes the issue, not impatient dps; KS has a cooldown and BrM doesn't get BoF until 40 - compare it to a Druid's Swipe and Thrash, and a Paladin's HotR/Blessed Hammer and Consecration.
You can always tiger palm each target, you also have chi burst or chi wave depending on what you've taken at that level. I've never had problems with a brewmaster keeping threat. Are other classes better at AoE at this level? Sure, but it's not unplayable by any means.
I don't have problems keeping threat, I never said or even implied that I struggle. I said, specifically, that the only issue in reference to the context of this vid being about leveling, is that the lack of AoE makes it comparatively awkward. I, at no point, said or implied that it was unplayable.
Keg smash has like a 6 second CD, its not too bad. I just made a 20 brewmaster and ran a dungeon, didn't feel awkward to me, but I guess it's all down to personal preference and you're just looking to vent it seems, lol.

If you wait to level when the darkmoon faire is up, then you can get the xp buff from the carousel to stack with everything else you have.
yep. it's a 10% buff. a bit annoying to go there every hour but worth imo :D

World of Nixxcraft there is a mount that lets you pick stuff up without landing isn’t there?
Only druid flightform and monk Zen Flight allow for that.
World of Nixxcraft Sky Golem seems to let everyone else.

You can also get shoulder enchants and leg enchants. Doesn't make a huge difference but every stat helps

you can't get 90 if you will only farm the Pandaria treasures, because they are very few
you used to be able to when they gave loads more xp now all you gotta do is get your alt and run tol'vir dungeon over and over

Yup, figured this out a couple a months ago after the big dungeon nerf hit. I use scarlet halls from 21-37. the bonus boss helps.

You can get a new buff once every ten levels too as the monk for the 50% extra xp. So 10, 20, 30
100-101 do worldquest somewhere in draenor if u have done the ones in arak already, finishing still gives big XP

Can you solo Karajan trash as a monk like your recommend in your guide? If so which spec? Brewmaster like in guide? Or windwalker? Or Misteweaver?
Wind walker is fine at 73. If u want to try before lvl 73 then I recommend brewmaster but that may be really slow

Almost 70% of the tanks in random dungeons right now are kul tiran monks that have zero clue of how to tank...

You get a fresh start. You need to level again.

Yeah specifically at 73 it gets much much easier. It’s strange lol but even at 72 it’s a big rough. When u hit 73 u will be amazed at how fast u will hit lvl 81 :)

I'm playing a priest, not a monk - is quick running ramparts from 60-73 still viable with out the monk buff? if not, whats the fastest alternate leveling from 60-73?
Ramparts is still good. Enlightenment only works on exp from mobs and quests. The dungeon completion bonus is good on monks and non monks alike :)

If you're burnt out from all the dungeon grinding I suggest you pick up herbalism, mining and archeology, and go a relaxing adventure and do some petbattles while you're at it.
Tbh I would do the wod intro considering you get most xp from questing and they are pretty easy missions

I don’t think that’s true since new allied races will release when bfa comes out. They may make it to where u have to hit 120 instead of 110 tho

Quick question, since it's clear you've done a lot of these. With an efficient run from 1 to 110, assuming minimal interruptions and a monk bonus, what is a character's /played going to look like when they first ding 110? What is an estimated /played for a race that cannot be a monk?
Sadly I been trying to work on this but haven’t had time. My research is on many many characters in various leveling brackets. I am currently working on this though because it’s a popular question. Just for starters, my void elf rogue I just made is lvl 55 with 7.5 hours played, but the leveling between 60 and 81 will go super fast then slow down

Void Elf Monk, currently level 81 (just done with Kara). Taking a couple of days break to stack on a few monk buffs before continuing to Pandaland.
Time played is 12 hours and 5 seconds. However, at least 3 of those hours are straight up "wasted" as i started leveling normally, did large parts of Westfall and all of Duskwood in the "normal" manner.. i started "quick leveling", or power leveling or what you want to call it after level 30 (33 or 34 i think). By quick leveling i mean boosting with my second account :)

After u unlock world quests on ur main u r able to do legion invasions when they spawn. U can for sure do them without flying, no problem there. May take a bit longer but no biggie. Let me no if ur having any other issues :)

From 81-90 not even neare with treasures. Got from 81 to 82 1/2 so no... Wich is my main concern, how to get past these levels very fast.
Yeah I had forgotten they nerfed treasure exp. questing actually sadly may be the best route unless like firelands gives good exp. someone recommended firelands but I haven’t been able to test it
Ill give this a try, after 13 years of playing, old questing zones are not something i hold in a very high regard, to say the least. But really want the nightborne heritage armor ;p, plus ive currently staked the enlightenment buff to 24 hours...seems to be the limit, would go up to a month otherwise.
I feel u on that! One note i messed up on. In pandaria the treasures have nerfed exp so either jade forest questing or getting carried in a dungeon perhaps. One person recommended farming firelands trash. Still need further testing lol but yeah 81-90 needs refinement on my part

yo what about using Herbalism and Mining and Darkmoon firewater as a Druid? i can lvl once per hour with rested XP
So I'm working through this guide and I'm currently struggling in the 60-73 bracket, I've resolved to killing all the mobs like regular max level questing and using no speed boosts and I'm still hitting the hour lock out. Tempted to go between this and blood furnace to help extend the time... Getting locked out every twenty mintues for fourty minutes really kills my runs xP
The downside to this is that mobs give nearly no exp when a high level is in the dungeon. Most of the exp comes from completing the dungeon. I recommend quickly hitting ur 10 run lock-out and quest in hellfire for around an hour from the first time you entered the dungeon and repeat if you a absolutely want to keep leveling after hitting the lockout
I may try that. The problem is my lowbies have a busy life so I'm doing most of the carry alone so I've done four of ramparts and then swapped over to blood furnace and since it's a bit longer with annoying mobs to smack it seems to have helped me avoid the lock out.)

how come you have 22 versa on a lvl 22 character and i only have 1 versa ?
BTW u can still use the 15 Min EXP Potion if u have the money for it u will still get the 300% buff and ur Armor at 110 ^^
Dude not only kara. But because the way the levels scale. You can do heroics in hellfire and do the rounds. Easy solo and more exp. Get 60 to 70% of 73 in 1 run of hellfire ramparts.

Absolutely. As u hit level 73 the mobs will do much less damage to u and u will do a lot to them. For some reason 73 is the magic number. But yes absolutely make sure u do this solo :)

Why do you say to kick the person who is boosting, instead of just both leaving, resetting and going back in?
Sounds about like the same process. As long as the carrier gets the graveyard teleport it doesn’t matter which method u use

1.can i wear them on other characters?
2.can i war them on other max lvl characters of the same species i didnt level (e.g. racechang....)
1. No 2. Yes. As long as u normally level that allied race up once u have the heritage armor unlocked for all your other characters of that race

bummer, dont seem to be able to use the buff anymore past lvl 100. im 105 and i did the daily and did not get the buff.
What if a 60 think runs you throw classic, would that work in the same level bracket?
That’s an interesting idea but if the twins is over 10ish levels higher than the alt then the alt would get little exp off the mobs (even tho end of dungeon experience is what really counts) but yeah I honestly don’t have a good answer cuz I’ve never tried this lol but it would quality towards getting the heritage armor tho
The translator on YT is horrible, on german it translates the title to "WoW: Wie auf Ebene der Allierten Rennen so schnell wie möglich (Heritage Armor)", which means as much as "WoW: How on Floor of the allied race(race as in running) as fast as possible (Heritage Armor)".
There is a catch here. When being run through ramparts i got instance locked out for 1 hour due to running to many dungeons. What you seggust then?

I just found all treasures in Pandaria and did 2 dungeons in the meantime, i only hit 83 and then quested super difficult quests to lvl 84. Any tips on how to survive Pandaria?
I had forgotten they had been nerfed some. Questing in Hyjal or jade forest may actually be a better option especially if ur a monk with enlightenment buff. Some of the mop treasures still give a decent bit of exp, like 44k but many give a low amount

My only wish is that heritage armor was account wide for any of that race. Last I heard from someone who leveled and boosted you have to earn them by leveling on each individual.
It is account wide. I leveled a warlock to 110 and could transmog the heritage armor with any of that race on my battle net account
Stefanie yeah I just found out that the person who told me this was just experiencing a bug. I guess when they first came out if you race changed and then leveled one the race changed one wasn't getting it. They got it corrected.

As of 8.0, the Enlightenment buff is now a mastery increase, not an XP boost.
This is not true. Up to at least level 90 it's an experience buff. (has been like this since MoP )

Am I missing something? Unless you want to play a monk at max level, what is the actual purpose of leveling a monk for the heritage armor? Wouldn't it make sense if you leveled the class you wanted to play, instead of leveling a monk for "speed" just to reroll and level the class? Unless you plan on spending money to race change, but why, when you still have to put effort into leveling in the first place?
Ur more than welcome to unlock your heritage armor anyway you please. With how long the game has been out there are a lot of people who have every class at max level, so class really doesn’t matter. For example I have 16 110’s spread out between horde and alliance. If you are one of the players who don’t have every class at max level then obviously you pick a class that u still need at max level.

I believe the Kara farm for exp has been nerfed, the mobs are now scaling and are much harder to kill.

One clear of trash in the rooms he mentioned in the video gives my priest around 60% of lvl and the mobs aren't scaling with my lvl

make sure u have HandyNotes, HandyNotes_DraenorTreasures and HandyNotes - Pandaria Treasures. I do want to note that pandaria treasure exp has been nerfed sadly. If you can get a carry through Lost city of tol'vir till level 90 that would be best otherwise questing in Hyjal or Jade is prolly the next best route sadly. 81-90 is pretty rough

Pandaria treasures were nerfed hard, they give me 22330 xp on most of the items, some are 35742 xp

Orri once I lvld a void elf to 110 my other void elves had access to the heritage armor, not other races though
One main question i have is with prepatch around the corner will the number crunch ruin the path for this and make it so youd have to find a different route or will it help it?
The only thing affected (which is a big deal tho) is that as if right now, the karazhan trash farm method from 73-81 won’t work. I did a video about testing out at 73 but because of the scaling the mobs are too hard. It may doable at like 77-78 maybe but idk. Hoping the scaling gets fixed a bit before launch.

I've been struggling since the new races came out. I'm leveling with two people that have fairly strict schedules. We're trying to create a solid gaming window and while they are both interested my depressions say: Nah, I'll pass. (It makes me sleepy when its something 'boring' even if I'm motivated to do it.) I'm hoping have a definitive goal and strategy will help. (Ironically two of us are monks.)

It works but you can’t get the buff past 100
The only problem with tanking as a Monk is its lack of AoE compared to to others, until lvl 90 for RJW - only having KS early on is just, awkward, and BoF doesn't help a whole lot.
If other people attack before you AoE, let them die. :) They should know better.
It's the comparative lack of AoE that causes the issue, not impatient dps; KS has a cooldown and BrM doesn't get BoF until 40 - compare it to a Druid's Swipe and Thrash, and a Paladin's HotR/Blessed Hammer and Consecration.
You can always tiger palm each target, you also have chi burst or chi wave depending on what you've taken at that level. I've never had problems with a brewmaster keeping threat. Are other classes better at AoE at this level? Sure, but it's not unplayable by any means.
I don't have problems keeping threat, I never said or even implied that I struggle.
I said, specifically, that the only issue in reference to the context of this vid being about leveling, is that the lack of AoE makes it comparatively awkward.

Keg smash has like a 6 second CD, its not too bad. I just made a 20 brewmaster and ran a dungeon, didn't feel awkward to me, but I guess it's all down to personal preference and you're just looking to vent it seems, lol.
