I've owned an '08 1600 Nomad since 2012. This past Spring I thought I wanted something different so I traded it for a '15 Heritage Softail. One of the dumbest things I've ever done. Hated the Harley, and after 3 weeks and some issues with it, I brought it back and re-united with my Nomad. The bike I should have bought, which was available at the time, was a 2010 1700 Classic LT. That's what I'm looking for now. Can't beat the Vulcans. They're great bikes. Ride safe.
vulcanbagger.com/forums/ go there read about it. A guy has come up with a program and it involves reprograming the ECU module and wow what a difference that makes. Gives the bike massive power and smoothness. I love it on mine feels like I bought a brand new bike. and if you read in the forum not one person has complained of getting it done. Well worth the money. www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/ecu.htm There is his website. He does amazing things with a Vulcan I would not have a Vulcan 1700 with out getting it done. It makes it powerful and responsive you will not believe it is the same bike after getting it done.
No problem they are an awesome bike but even more once you get that done. Gas mileage increase also. It does nothing but greatness for the bike. God I swear I have about 15% more power now and it gets on the power faster when you give the throttle a twist.
